Episode 1: My Story - Addiction Depression Recovery

- In this first episode, I want to tell you my story so you know where I'm coming from. It's not pretty. But it's important to share it, for my own sake and in the hopes that it can help others.
Wow, that was a lot more intense than I expected it to be though. If you want to share your own story I'd love to hear it, I'll be watching the comments and replying to as many people as I possibly can.
I didn't hold back, and I don't want you to hold back either - in fact, just finally going through the whole thing in my head to tell this story has been really therapeutic, and I genuinely feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that it's out there.
I'd also love to see some links left in the comments to helpful websites or organizations that work with addicts, everything from simple information pages about alcoholism, addiction and depression, to huge national organizations and self-help groups people can contact if they want to find help for themselves. And if you're struggling and want to anonymously find help in your local area, ask about it in the comments and maybe someone near you will have information for you. I'd love to see some conversation in the comments, because it's important to get people talking about this - I've found that communication and honesty are unbelievably important, even vital, in the healing process.
Remember, this is just my first, introductory video - I've got pages full of ideas for other videos. I'll be covering topics related to addiction and depression specifically, because those two issues are often linked to one another and are common to find paired up with each other. If you are depressed, you might seek drugs or alcohol to escape that depression. If you have an addiction problem, it's likely for that to lead to depression as you feel hopeless and helpless. But you're not either of those things of course, remember that. If you have any questions, suggestions for
future videos, or further discussion topics, I WANT TO HEAR THEM!
Oh and by the way, I'm definitely not what you'd call a "real artist" so bear with me on the cartoons, they might improve over time but it's not likely. I also want to make clear before we wrap up that I'm not starting a pity party for myself in this video - I'm really happy now, but it took a long time to get here, and I share my story in the hope that someone else out there can skip what I've been through and get to the happy part of their life much sooner. Here's hoping.
I'll be back soon with our first topic, stay strong and I'll see you then my friend.

I want to stay and listen to this series but I can't get past the annoying, loud, guitar. It's terribly distracting. Sorry.
