You just sold me on this! I was paying $30 to have a shop Buzztest for me (no friends with readers or this :c), and I actually had Injector #2 die on me. I just popped in a 140k mile injector (mine are at 374k haha) and its running better. I cant wait to get readings myself!
Cylinder contribution test shuts off each individual injector in order 1-8 for so many revolutions and monitors certain pids to see if there are any cylinders that are different than the rest. Its similar to a relative compression test, but performed while the engine is running instead of cranking
Good to have you and the OBS back! I recently did E-fuel conversion on my OBS and UVC gasket harness replacement but now I think I’m having IDM issues since it won’t fire 😞
928 OBS ya it’s just cranking and no smoke or nothing. I hooked up a cheap diagnostic scanner but it didn’t give me any codes. I changed out the IDM and nothing still. I think it might be a harness problem. Thanks for the reply!
Dang you have the Irate e fuel kit right? I installed one this spring to replace my shitty beans diesel one and your fuel pump is way louder than mine sounds like the bosch 044 that came with my beans that i had nothing but problems with I replaced that pump 3 times in 6 years.

I just bought your Bluetooth adapter from the first video on them back when the truck wouldnt start, any tips on how to make it work on a 97 powerstroke using tourqe pro?
I can’t remember what year your truck was. I tried this a couple of years ago on my 95 and I couldn’t get it to work I wonder if it will now. Also, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but FORScan Has a beta version for windows that is fantastic. I couldn’t get it to work with the Wi-Fi dongle on my particular laptop so I bought a USB to OBD two plug and it does everything. Live data shows the cranking as well. The software is free and I think I paid 25 or $30 for the dongle. It’s paid for itself 100 times over
928 OBS My understanding is that it started for the 96 model year but some of the later 95‘s work. I can use my laptop with FORScan Just not my mobile device
I’ve got the bafx WiFi interface for my super duty 7.3 and I can’t connect can you please help I was following the instructions and they had me download another app and I already had four scan paid for before I received this BAFX Wi-Fi interface today then they had me download another app and change the IP address you got any recommendations man I would very much appreciate it
The first test you ran kills one cylinder to see if any of them are dead I got cylinder 8 problems but with research I believe it’s a injector but it passed the injector buzz test 🤷♂️ idk still gonna put a injector in it

928 OBS ya I’m getting 65 psi and I can hear the fuel flowing. I’m pretty sure I have the fuel lines in the right place.
@@alexperez4540 put in neutral and try man. Make sure if the truck was towed you connected it at the bottom in the transmission
I wouldn’t expect that test to be too accurate I’m sure your engine’s healthy I’m pretty sure in a precious video you didn’t have any blow by right?
If you wanna see IPC and IPR in live time, you should get a Scan Gauge 2.

I tried this on my truck and it also said 3 and 7 fault but it runs good so I don’t think it’s accurate

If you use android use Torque Pro for motoring engine diagnostics. Car scan pro if you want to do injector buzz test.
These failed on my 7.3. Turns out those apps can’t read them for whatever reason. This app though worked like a charm.

928 OBS oh nice. What do you do when your not doing OBS things?
Maybe the dongle is the issue and not the app for real time values. I had to pay about $60 if I remember for good Bluetooth dongle to run Torque.
I have a OBS and there isn’t a OBDII outlet😭😭😭
I just purchased both ForScan and the Bafx adaptor with wifi and cannot get it to connect to the iphone.
Update. I got a new update on my iPhone this morning and now I can connect to my truck. Awesome...
Did not work for me. Did the exact thing, but used a slightly cheaper version. Mine is a 1996. Says “ELM327 cannot FULLY Connect”
