You can get the code manually by reading the eeprom chip on the PAS module under the front driver seat. For programming of the remote you need the key tag or else you're stuck.
@@shaazy You can get any serial eeprom reader and it will handle this for you. The eeprom is going to be either a 93C66a or a 93c56. If you don't have a device to get the code, send it to me.
According to some people I know that program Porsche keys, the original PIWIS computer can pull the codes from the keys directly. Even many Porsche dealerships no longer have these.
Understand that tag on new key head will have numbers needed. How about existing, working key? How do you make sure your not deleting/overwriting that info if you only desire to add an additional remote key?
Mike Predmore - were you able to get new key programmed with old one still working? I went to dealer today to get new remote programmed and they told me original key needs pin card too or original key would not work. That doesn’t make sense to me. Should be able to add a remote and still have original key working. I think dealer is wrong.
