Another excellent video - thanks! I have PL7 Elite, but I don't have the Volume deformation tool - I'm assuming this is because I don't have Viewpoint installed. I've been using the geometry tools for a few architectural type photos and find that they work quite well in most situations. These are photos taken in Pioneer Villages, mostly. Very powerful tools in PL7; I think that I should purchase Viewpoint, but I'll await a sale - Black Friday week is usually when I update my DxO software - pity that it's so far away. Cheers
Thanks. Yes, that’s a ViewPoint tool. I can definitely recommend ViewPoint, it’s pretty much everything you need in the architectural toolbox. I’m hoping DxO are considering a stitching tool, that would fill out the capabilities perfectly.
I don't have viewpoint but do have Nik collection which includes nik Perspective Efex. I believe that Perspective efex does everything that Viewpoint does but of course externally to Photolab. Most of the time Photolab geometry covers my needs and only occasionally do i need to use Perspective Efex so probably not worth me buying Viewpoint.
Good point, thanks for mentioning it. ViewPoint also offers previews, but for the majority of users that would not be a compelling reason to buy if you already have the Nik Collection. The reason there are two almost identical apps is that the Nik Collection is designed primarily as a plugin to Lightroom and Photoshop. The advantage of having the functionality fully integrated with PhotoLab is that you can apply your perspective corrections at any point in your workflow. I prefer to do most of this work upfront, although I might use the ReShape tool to fine tune things later in the process. It is at the end of the day, another license though.
Probably the most useful coverage of DxO PL on the internet. Thank you.
Thank you!
I've had the software for years and never knew how to use some of those features, strong work. Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you for making this informative video 👍
Thank you! Glad it was useful.
Another very helpful video. I have Viewpoint 3, but it looks as though the Tree Navigation, Guides, and Reshape Tool might be worth the upgrade to 4.
Thank you! It might be worth hanging on, DxO generally maintain a 12 month release schedule.
Another excellent video - thanks!

Does the reshape tool not exist in PL7? I'm using the trial period but don't see the reshape tool.
The Reshape tool is part of ViewPoint, it is activated in PL7 by installing Viewpoint on the same computer.
