3:10 to Yuma gave me so many RDR vibes. From Charlie Prince to Ben Wade. All in a plotline that didn't have a happy ending with all the emotional twists and turns that RDR has. *Chef kiss* 🤌
I watched Tombstone last year while playing through RDR2 for the first time. You see a lot of inspiration from Tombstone, in retrospect. The swelling of the music and the cheesiness sometimes made me laugh but they acted their asses off. Such a goddamn good movie. Highly recommend.
Yeah I’ve heard the story of RDR1 took heavy inspiration from the Wild Bunch, but I’ve also heard Dutch’s character was initially based on the personality and appearance of “Curly” Bill Brocius from Tombstone (though he was also a real outlaw).
Nah a million ways to die in the Wild West gotta be the funniest western movie if you haven’t seen it watch it seth macfarlane made it and stars in it can’t go wrong w him
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid 1969 is also a phenomenal movie they should watch, its what inspired the scene when arthur and dutch jumped off the cliff to escape the army.
I don’t hear a lot of people talk about Unforgiven despite the fact that it’s a goddamn masterpiece and kinda soul crushing. If you haven’t watched it, watch it you won’t regret it.
@@AveryJ1227Doc Holliday is the best character in that movie. Val Kilmer deserved an Oscar for that role. Tombstone is 100% worth watching just to see Doc.
I remember binging the Dollars Trilogy, I was with my Dad and we got through the first two with ease and joy, then we got to The Good the Bad and the Ugly. After two hours my dad had fallen asleep, and I watched the rest of it. When it got to the final scene where they start the duel. It was 3AM. I watched through it and it was the greatest feeling ever. Not because I got tired or didn’t like it but because it was an amazing experience. I then stayed up the rest of the night and the next day, slept like a rock when it hit 9PM. That duel scene felt like the greatest thing ever. I recommend everyone to binge it. Truly amazing.
Young Guns 1 and 2, 3:10 to Yuma, True Grit, Magnificent Seven, Deadwood Series/Movie, Maverick , and Dances with Wolfs. These are pretty good westerns. Cowboys Vs Aliens is a good movie ( for those that like science fiction).
Django unchained is an absolutely legendary movie. I was actually a 110% sure there would be a Django reference during the time in Rhodes and i wasnt disappointed.
Watched them all before I even started playing RDR2 " I don't think it's nice you laugh. . See my mule don't like you laughin' he gets this crazy idea you're laughin' at him. ." Great movie watched a lot of westerns with my grandparents… this one is probably my favorite… well second actuslly… the outlaw Josey Wales was my grandfathers and it’s tied with true grit for me as my favorite
I would say to watch all the clint eastwood movies like fistful of dollars a few dollars more the outlaw jose whales the good the bad and the ugly they are some of the movies i would recommend watching these movies after playing rdr2 but but it doesnt matter personly i played rdr2 after watching all these movies and loved seeing all the refrences. Ps i just realised how the outlaw jose whales is alot like rdr1
Unforgiven is definitely the go to. A story about an aging cowboy towards the end of the cowboy age pulling one last job to provide for his family? *Yes*
Man forgot The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs, not entirely just cowboys but still amazing and set in the west. And The Hateful Eight, its referenced in rdr2 i just cant remember where.
Tombstone. Fits so well the fact that the whole premise of tombstone, revenge and what attempting revenge in hunting down and killing off cowboys and outlaws because of civilization.
