- This is a review of Endless Ocean Luminous for the Nintendo Switch. We look at whether or not it is worth your time and money, and also if it is a good sequel to Endless Ocean Blue World (A.K.A. Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep for my European friends).

Couldn't agree more on the point of it not being a good sequel. I think if it wasn't branded as an EO game the reception would've been different. It'd be nice if they ported Blue World though.

Yesn't. They should have adedd more animations to mammals and marine reptiles ("dinosaurs") that would make them more different than fishes and sharks.
Like they would interact with eachother and seem like they are actually smart. You could also go out to the surface and take pictures of them jumping along other sea birds.
Yeah any sort of behaviors would be welcome. The world needs to feel more alive.

I've never played the first two Endless Ocean games, so I appreciate the history lesson! It kind of makes this game seem even more disappointing to me, like it's the Paper Mario: Sticker Star of the Endless Ocean franchise...

Specifically blue world the most but luminous just doesn’t hit like the originals
I agree. The older ones feel like more love went into their development. I didn’t play any of the games until this year, so i don’t think it’s just nostalgia when people are saying this.
I bought a game key on eBay for 1.50€. I'm glad I didn't pay more. The multiplayer is fun, but the game lacks a proper story and a lot of other features compared to Blue World.
Yup. That pretty much sums it up. I hope some day there’s a more traditional entry. I’d love to see an evolution of blue world.
