It is about 40 years since I visited the Dolomites. I recall that we had the most massive dump of snow which, as a consequence of drifting caused Val Gardena where I was staying to be cut off without electricity for 3 days. It buried the Poma lifts in the village and when eventually the cable cars and chair lifts began to run there was a fortnight of heavenly powder to enjoy.
I'm planning to go to the Dolomites in the 2025 snow season. It will be my first time going, and there will be around 8 people. I'm not sure where is the better place to stay… any recommendations?
@@dollychen4003 No matter where you choose accommodation, you won't go wrong. All Dolomiti Superski locations are connected by bus, and some by train. If the accommodation is not next to the ski slope, it is important that it is near the bus station. Any place along the Sella Ronda loop is a good choice because you are connected on skis to 4 ski resorts: Selva di Val Gardena, Alta Badia (Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa), Arabba and Canazei.
The ski lifts do NOT connect all 12 resorts. Get your information correct chatGPT Best resorts, Kronplatz, Cortina???? They are ok for 1 day. And before you have comments, I go there on wintersports for over 20y, 2 times a season. Also almost every summer. You?
@@felipeelgueta845 - Alpe di Siusi - Obereggen and eat in Gardoné hut - Lagazoui and eat in Scotoni hut (best grill, very big wine choice) - Marmolada - Wolkenstein - Santa Cristina, Ceceda, take the lang slope down and eat in val d'anna, outside in the beach chairs in the sun. - Corvara (have a drink after ski in L'Got (Audi bar) - La Villa - Pedraces, Santa Croce Best place for a hotel, most central place of the area, La Villa or Corvara I call this "Culinary Skiing"

It's wonderful to hear how it used to be, we remain hopeful that our children will also have the opportunity to experience big snow and real winter.
