great video, 👏🏾👏🏾 ...as to which direction the heads of the tune-o-matic screws should face - if they are small they can go either way, but if the screw head is large they have to face the neck or bridge pick-up because big screw head will friction against the strings going to the tailpiece.

I will basically upgrade them with all Gibson hardware and electronic components, but will not be refinishing and will not be changing the headstock or the logo. I'll definitely be following your progress as we're both working on something similar. I'm curious if you are going to attempt to plug the holes of the original tailpiece posts.
No problem! Your video was very informative. Yes, I’m planning on plugging those tailpiece holes. I’m still debating on the best way to go about it. Thankfully I’m using a solid color so I don’t have to worry about matching grain or anything.
It's tough to say but I'm wondering if that slight angle on the bridge still is kind of binding things up? I put a roller bridge on a Bigsby guitar that has the slots in the side with the Allen Screws to secure it that way you can adjust the angle of the bridge and get it perfectly straight. I think you mentioned that some of your saddles rock back and forth with the Bigsby, Once you get your intonation close one thing I've done is go to the hardware store and get very small standard lock washers I think they're #2 or #3 size 🤔 I can't remember the exact size put enough in the front or behind the saddle and then tighten your adjustment screw down Everything is super super tight and won't rock around. You can do this with any tuneomatic bridge, it works very well.Also the best thing to Lubricate the rollers with this triflow....
I put a schaller roller bridge on a LP and the rollers grooves were different sizes…wider for the low E and smaller for the high E…so it only went on one way…the tone pros doesn’t seem to be that way…good to know👍
I just got a allparts brass bar bridge for my g5230t gretsch jet from China it has an ADJUST-o-matic with the small posts like thr TUNE-o-matic. Instead of paying $14 for the conversion posts, for $15 i got the stainless steel guyker space control bridge comes with 3 different posts. Its still in the mail but i hope maby i could put the stainless SC bridge on my epiphone p93, it might make those muddy p90s a bit brighter than the Chinese pot metal AOM. 🤞
Yes, that is a consideration. But it’s pretty easy to make sure the wire connects when you put the bushings back. And you can confirm it with an electrical multimeter. Also, an interesting note: the ground wire on this guitar was originally connected to the tailpiece bushings & I had to run a new wire to the bridge bushings.

I’ve completely stripped the guitar at this point; reshaped the headstock, drilled new tuner holes, applied new decals; & sprayed the color coat. Im currently applying clear coats. I’ll have a new video out soon. Thanks for asking. 😊

Interesting! I didn’t know that about the Schaller bridge.
Some kind of lubrication may be needed to spray into the roller posts or to roughen up the roller valleys to make sure they grip the strings?

You start yanking bridge bushings/inserts and now you have to worry about the bridge grounding wire contacting the new insert correctly

@@NathanSink it actually doesn't matter which one it connects to as you've seen, the strings contact both pieces securely (or damn well should😉)
