I absolutely loved this. Im currently a baptist and i have been saying this stuff for a while now!! When you said "instead of asking have i surrended my life to Christ we ask has Jesus surrended his life for us" i lost it, so amazing!! I may need to check out a lutheran church

I too felt that McDonalds story as a real source of inspiration. Really heart tugging haha I think I’ve found a LCMS church to attend soon. Curious, did you ever get to visit one? What was your experience like and any take aways?

Outstanding Pastor! I was baptized and confirmed LCMS and then fell for the Jesus movement in the early 70's that drove me through every denomination/non-denom until in 2003 I realized that Lutheran doctrine regarding eschatology was correct and it drove me home. You hit the nail on the head with your book and this speech. THANK YOU.

As to WHEN the decision was made…”before the foundations of the world…reaffirmed on the cross, to wit, “it is finished”.

Pastor Wolfmueller, never forget: It's 1 John 3:19-21. It would have been easier if it had been 3:16, but you move forward three verses, and then read the following three verses. Now, I may remember it too (I also always need to look for it).
Thanks for a very timely presentation. We have the same problems here in Sweden too.

Just for accounting purposes...I was an elder in an Evanjelly Merican church...when my vision casting leader foolishy suggested his leadership team should be the most versed in scripture...and by this challenge...I fell from vision casting into confessional Lutheranism...in spite of yalls dirty laundry..as it still pales to rank paganism...thanks Wolfmueller, Fisk, Rosebrough, PAM, Cwirla, Rhoade, Feines, Walther, Luther, Dan Redhage, and Jesus...not in order of importance obviously. Thank you Pastor Wolfmueller! Love this except for your understanding about mysticism :) Not everyone sees it the way you are describing it here. Mysticism is simply a word to describe the mystery of Christ for some, and it is certainly not a feeling or a conjuring up of or a so called in or out of the presence of God. Mysticism being, for example what we see happening in the Bible….100% dependent on Christ alone nothing to conjure. Words are sign posts and people change the meanings all the time… the letter kills and the Spirit gives life. Also some people who say “I’m spiritual not religious” are referring to exactly what you are speaking on here. I like to ask people more questions about what they mean instead of the temporary label of an “ism”. This why I do not often use words with “ism”… isms are often schisms. Apostle Paul explains it best… “What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul"; another, “I follow Apollos"; another, “I follow Cephas"; still another, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?”
They still doing this today… I follow Protestantism, I follow Luther, I’m Baptist,…

You talk fairly often in your videos about Law and Gospel, but so far in the videos I have seen, you have not super clearly explained what you get from this view. Or I have been too thick to get it yet.
In this video, at ~55:45 the way you break down how leading to sin we need the direction and wisdom of Law and after sin we need the redemption and forgiveness of Gospel seemed to clear it up some for me.
I thought the way you pointed out the enemy is always preaching exactly to opposite of God's truth was meaningful and true.
    Thank you.

Bryan, I am a Christian brought up in one of the denominations you mentioned...no problem, I am going through a phase of questioning some things and a dear friend sent me the link for this video. My question to you is on divorce which I never believed in but had to go through. I have now been divorced for 36 years with no plans to remarry. I was taught that there are Biblical reasons for divorce but my understanding of the question presented to you in the sermon is that there are NO Biblical reasons. I guess my question to you is are there Biblical reasons for divorce because I would have born dead for the last 36 years If I had not gotten a divorce. Is physical, mental abuse and an early death what God really wanted for me?

    • @bobtaylor170
      @bobtaylor170 2 роки тому +6

I'm sorry no one has answered you yet. What I can tell you is that there are two Biblical grounds for divorce, being the victim of adultery or of a spouse's desertion. If your husband was abusing you, he had certainly deserted the marriage in any meaningful sense of what a husband is supposed to be. Stop blaming yourself for something which you didn't do.

Pastor--A wonderful and thought-provoking presentation. I don't think, however, that your answer to the question pertaining to slavery in the ancient world was entirely accurate. In the ancient world--specifically, the world of Jesus's day, (let's call it the world of 30 A.D.) slavery was largely a result of Roman wars of conquest. The Romans would capture a city, put the men to the sword, and sell the women and children into slavery. Or the men might not be put the sword, but would be sent to the mines or galleys, and educated men (particularly Greeks, valued by the Romans) and craftsmen might be sold on the market. Especially in Jesus's day, there were tremendous numbers of slaves taken in the Roman wars, in Greece, Gaul and other places, such that they were incredibly cheap. You are correct that there was no particular racial component to the slavery in 30 A.D., but it would be incorrect to say that most slaves were simply debtors. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

🤣looks like Christians are totally confused 🤣
Good place to be to get some clarity😂
Left Church completely to put my life in order. Doing much much better now after a decade of removing myself from the toxic theological teachings.
4 decades of ministry work and finally only confusion remained. But somehow clarity came a decade ago which gave me the strength to leave all.
Now going through therapy for all the Trauma that Church teachings put me through. Time for the humanity to wake up to this nightmare of rituals, beliefs, and teachings.
Finally I am happy and free!
Enjoying my freedom and Sunday free time finally.

The arrogance of the title of this vid is enough for me to reject it. How could a mere mortal answer this question? Lutherans lose members to the Eastern Orthodox church all the time because of this kind of carping on other communions.

Let’s be real here. Baptist are not connected to the ancient church. No sacraments, no liturgy…etc. That’s why you see people flock into orthodoxy, traditional Catholicism, confessional Lutheranism or conservative Anglicanism. They are tired of being manipulated by American Evangelicalism/Baptist.
