Installation of the Allisport Double Core Intercooler, replacement Allisport header tank, Allisport Tdi oil breather tank, Allisport 300Tdi coolant hose set and a couple other small pieces.
The Landy has come up really nice. They are just a good truck that will plod along all day. Fuel use was a good result.
If you get a expansion tank cap from a later Range Rover Classic with a float switch and wire in a relay and buzzer for a low coolant alarm.
Rad is def aftermarket. Original is copper
The reduction in fuel use is likely from the new airbox to turbo pipe. The old rubber ones can collapse and restrict flow and make it (more) gutless.
Loving the mods ya doing. I just did that myself in my landy. The biggest gains i got with the new support mods. Was a boost pin and boost ring from Fourby in the UK. plus a couple turns on the diesel pump lol. Keep it up mate.
I would add a new viscous fan, they fail
Gotta tune it and wind up the fuel to match the flow and cooling of the I/C to get any difference with that setup. It's a good setup.
You need a burp / radiator bleed funnel . Amazing how much air gets caught and will only ever come out after the thermostat opens a few times . I’ve sold cars as the heater never worked and later found out this is why ! ( silly reverse flow cars ! )
Hi. You made nice and clean job. To make sure it’s good to cat on half plastic T and check inside how look also lm not sure if your main radiator fan is plastic it’s good for change.
Splendid! Really good...bring on the electric Turbo!...Thanks.
nice work...it all helps to get the 300Tdi chuffing along. I also modified the steel pipe between the turbo and intercooler to remove the squashed section (that goes over the strut tower). also have a straight through 63mm exhaust (front section wrapped) and a pump tune, gets my 1998 300Tdi 130 moving. Dyno tuned at 110psi at the wheels (on 285's)
Overflow tank looks mint
Quality product, more air and fuel now equals woosh
Need to crank up the fuel with new intercooler and maybe increase boost?
Nice video mate. Just noticed you still have a plastic bung where you filled the coolant up from. Swap this out for a brass one as the plastic ones can and do let go eventually…. Ask me how I know.
Should get the standard radiator from alisport
Just curious; all that aluminium is very nice looking and looks very though; but I wonder how it behaves in the long term dealing with vibrations and metal fatigue? or is that something not to worry about?
How the hell did I miss this? I think replacing the OEM shroud with the aftermarket ones that have been designed for the kit you are fitting is a smart move.
You didn’t have to cut bonnet clip manifold thing at front for fitment?
Thanks for the video! Ok I might buy a intercoola unit only and viscofan tool! What kind tune you can do the tdi? Have you done the popular diesel injecta mod. yet?
