She was trying her best to stay positive, constantly trying to hold onto that childhood energy and feeling of never slowing down, never being sad. She brought up the subject in her most recent video, on the history of the Brony community, and said that at the time she was young and didnt realize the connotations, and was using the word specifically in reference to hunchback of Notre dame, to which there are references scattered all over friendship is witchcraft. She feels really horrible about using it now, because she knows now that the Romani community see the word as a slur, and is kind of uncomfortable with all the tiktokers using this song for their videos because of the word! Hey there, before you go into the comments looking for "g*psy is a slur", I'd like to throw in something here! It IS a slur. And the creator, Jenny Nicholson, now knows that! She brought up the subject in her most recent video, on the history of the Brony community, and said that at the time she was young and didnt realize the connotations, and was using the word specifically in reference to hunchback of Notre dame, to which there are references scattered all over friendship is witchcraft. She feels really horrible about using it now, because she knows now that the Romani community see the word as a slur, and is kind of uncomfortable with all the tiktokers using this song for their videos because of the word! The creator of this song has said herself that it's a slur and has apologized for its usage and thus there is no need for debate on the subject. Jenny is a rad lady, and you should check out her video on the brony community she just put out! It's fascinating and just cool to hear about it from a person who was so involved in the fandom!
