I love how everyone thinks that the lyrics are from the actual show but this is from the witchcraft version. In the actual version she was singing about the things they needed to make CUPCAKES because applebloom wanted her cutie mark really bad.

This is a remix off of a song called pinkies brew (obviously) that comes from a MLP parody called MLP Friendship is Witchcraft. In the show she claims she is trying to get her dead parents back from a mysterious murder. She creates it with Apple Bloom when she tells pinkie she wants to earn her cutie mark. Keep in mind, this parody only went through season one because Hasbro shut the creator down, so the girls do not have cutie marks yet. In the show, she successfully makes it through and Apple Bloom calls for pinkie as the rift slowly gets bigger and louder.
She is not going back to save Mr. and Mrs. Cake, She is trying to save her parents from their untimely deaths.
BTW You should totally watch MLP FIW because is it funny and you will get more information about this song.

It’s depressing because this song is about bringing her dead parents back. She’s making “time sorbet” and then it say “pinkie is you’re hearing this it means we’re dead and gone, please don’t bake a portal just accept it and move on” if you listen carefully, you hear a man and a woman both talking. That’s her parents. And then she said “beat these yolks and save my folks by breaking the forth wall” she’s telling apple bloom to jump through a time portal to save her parents and once she goes back in time, they are calling her and outkast and that she does witchcraft so that makes her realize that she just has to accept it and go home.
The lyric is actually "beat these yolks and save my folks by BAKING the fourth wall." It's wordplay and stays consistent with the previous verse, but yes, you've got the sentiment right.

Btw if anyone wants a fun fact, the singer is Jenny Nicholson, she was a lot of the voices on Friendship is Witchcraft (the fandub this song is from). She’s now a decently sized UA-camr who I really enjoy. Funnily enough I found her channel and was watching her content for months before I happened after years to go back to the series only to hear her voice, in a previous video she had said she occasionally did voice acting and I was surprised to randomly come across that and realize I was a fan of hers for YEARS before I even knew who she was.
