You might never see this under the thousands of comments but I shave my head. Not for medical reasons. I shave my head to make it normal for girls to be bald. because in my head I feel like if someone who HAS to shave their head sees someone who is shaved just for being shaved they wont feel alone. My mom had breast cancer and she was more upset that she might lose her hair than having cancer. I shaved my head so she wouldn't be alone. She ended up having a mastectomy and didn't need chemo and didn't lose her hair. I was the only one bald. Lol.
+ThatJane Lady Okay, I LOVE this story. This is so adorable and really speaks on how wonderful of a person you are. You look seriously awesome if that's you in your profile picture. Your mom is very lucky and I bet that helped her more than you know. :)
Take your power back! You didn't choose it, your condition chose you. I lose my hair because of a chronic illness so I have to keep it very short. The first time, I was upset because I felt forced into it- like my body was victimizing me yet again. Then I realized this was at least one way I could claim power back, choose to love my super short hair, rock it, make it my own! Yours looks absolutely stunning on you. You look like a rock star! You might find, the more you wear it in public, you might love yourself in it more and more ♡ You are beautiful
I am the same. I was always known for having thick waist long hair my entire life. Since being diagnosed with a rare extremely painful disease (Dercum's disease), on top of other health issues, my hair has been falling out in chunks. It is so thin that I have to use a hair powder to make my scalp not as noticeable when out in public. I use Cabooki. My hair is now only about 1/5 to1/6 the thickness it used to be and being so ill it has been too hard to maintain, so I just chopped it off. It still grows fast, which it has always done, so I have chopped it off on my own a few times in the last few years. I am just seeing absolutely no new growth on my scalp, thickness-wise. This young woman is so stunning with her head shaved, but I understand how hard that must be. I have considered wigs, but have resisted because of the same things she mentioned. I think she is in a state of grief. Hopefully as she does what is best for herself she can heal inside. (HUGS) to you, fellow spoonie. ❤️
So unfortunate. To me you look much better without hair. But that's just me. You are gorgeous and don't need any kind of hair to hide behind. I wish you all the best, my dear.
Shannon, your hair is not central to your identity, or anything else in the flesh. Even if most of your videos are hair and beauty tutorials it is not even central to "heythereimshannon." After this video I watched the video of you shaving your head. You did right by yourself. I'm sorry the alopecia caused you all this pain, and that the medications did not work for you. It's terrible and something you have no control over. But this did not cost you your identity. You don't need hair to be beautiful and you don't have to hide behind wigs. You are still beautiful, and you are still Shannon. Being bald is okay. No one changes the world by having "bitching hair" anyway. Don't beat yourself up over this. I urge you to make more videos about coping with alopecia and your recovery to raise awareness about the illness, if you are comfortable with that. I think you could be a great model for people with alopecia, tricholtillomania, etc. Judging by some of the comments I've read, you are already.
Yes, great comment. Shannon, I wish you peace with your self image. I understand your struggle (well, as much as I can without being in your shoes), and I hope you can come to a place of acceptance and self love. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and I think it would be cool to keep us updated on your feelings about this. (this is the first video I've seen of yours). I would imagine 99% of women struggle with self acceptance over some part of their body, so your story will resonate with many of us.
Hun,you are so young. I live with bald spots because I have an autoimmune disease called left side colitis. I shave my head or buzz it real short when it does come in. My hair grows uneven and my head looks lopsided.lolYou should not be upset or feel like you are lost. I can understand your pain, especially since you are 19. You are beautiful hun. You would be surprised how manny people don't really notice or care what your hair looks like. More and more women are shaving there hair or going super short. Please realize,no one hates you because you don't have hair. Smile girl... Your smile makes all the difference. The prettiest girls have beautiful smiles, make up on point and dress with confidence. Good luck hun.... We love you....
I think you are beautiful!!! I'm taking a chemo drug and am losing my hair. My hubby said well you can get wigs in every color, nope I'm going to rock bald!!!
Don't ever allow your hair to be who you are. Shannon you are beautiful and that shines from the inside out. You personality is still there, you are still adjusting and I understand that. You can't help what happened but you can turn this into something positive and inspire/help others. I just want to give you a hug and tell you everything will be ok xx
Shannon, you have unbelievably beautiful bone structure and features. Without hair, your cheekbones, jaw, eyes, and general bone structure are brought way out... and you're seriously gorgeous. like... seriously. your eyes, nose, lips, teeth and jawline are all actually perfect. even your ears. please don't feel bad about yourself. you're one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen. you. not your hair. pleaae dont take this thr wrong way but i actually find you even more beautiful without hair. please trust me on this. I'm an artist ;)
i have alopecia areata as well. wasn't born with it, but it just showed up after a stressful period in my life.. my hair grew back but now it's falling out again. its fcking frustrating. i feel u girl.
Celina Liya sometimes it falls out and grows back.i had first patch 2014 then one year nothing all grew out and last year i had two smaller ones. just take it year at a time it ia okay to have bad periods but most possibly it will grow back when your immune system stabilises :) much love xxxx
Looking at you reminds me of when my mom shaved her head because of cancer... You are amazing and beautiful and so so strong for trying this... The most important thing is that you are comfortable in your own skin so if you feel you need hair then grow your hair... You will still be beautiful... because it's your heart that makes you beautiful.. so try to smile... HUGS!!!
Its so brave of you Shannon to share your vulnerability with the world! We can feel you, and want you to know you are loved no matter what - hair or no hair! With time you will come into your own, whatever that look is. life is outside our comfort zones. Wish you all the best!
My hair lands right above my belly button and I really wanna shave it but I don't have the face for it. My face is long and looks terrible with short hair. You are absolutely beautiful and stunning. I think you look amazing. I'm jealous.
K. Charrette well I always thought I'd look terrible with bags but turns out they make me look way cuter. I also thought I'd look like a big baby if I shaved my head but my best friend was convicted it would look better then the hair I had at the time and I shaved it off and she said I looked like a fairly or goddess.
K. Charrette my point is that their are different stiles of short hair you could go for and even if one sounds bad or extreme maybe that's the one for you.
Emily Ung well have you ever had your hair very short? I think even girls with long faces can look good with buzzed or shaved heads. One of my former classmates was super pretty when she buzzed her hair and she has a long face and a big curved nose. It took the hair out of her face and showed her eyes off more. I think that long hair actually extends long faces and makes them seem longer. maybe you should try a bob cut ? those are cute and a good first step
this is my first time to your channel. I understand how you're feeling, I really do, but know that on the other side of your pain is a deeper understanding of your identity, the true essence of who you are. once you do, you'll realize that hanging your hat on a single thing that identifies you is itself a mask, a prison, even if it's growing out of your scalp. I know your concern isn't about beauty, but you are an exceptional beauty.
I stumbled on this video and I had to leave a comment. Full stop, you ARE STUNNING! Also, when you say "now I look like an egg" you must mean perfect. Your head shape is gorgeous to. In case no one has ever told you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 Blessings to you and forget all the haters.
bless you for being open and sharing your experiences with us. you disposed of a veil most women couldnt imagine losing. life takes crazy turns, dont beat yourself up for being optimistic about a treatment. hugs from sacramento ca, keep being a strong and experimental woman and your influence will continue to be cherished ❤
You have a gorgeous face. and your head is a nice shape :) you look really pretty even with your head shaved. And I'm not just saying that! I'd count myself lucky to be your boyfriend!
You are just beautiful without hair! Don't let haters bring you down!!! I have recently been diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. It pretty much hit my scalp full force and very painful. Causes hair to twist, knot, and tangle by the scalp nerves gone wild. I have no choice but to shave my head to ease pain. Yes it's upsetting but we just have to do what we have too for us and no one else. I just wish I looked as beautiful as you do without hair. I will have to wear wigs. Keep your spirits up and ignore haters!!!
Prayers goes out to you Shannon. You Got This. God has your back. Don't let anyone tell you different. You're Very Beautiful with or without hair. You got my support and shame on non believers that don't experience this buzz. Next time, It could be you in Shannon's situation.
I have alopecia and also take monthly injections. It really does get better but YOU gotta do it. My dermatologist says that it can very well be stress related. I'm a guy, but I also know a girl who struggled with this years back, but is 100% fine now. There is hope dont give up
I didn't know who you were until today. I'd never seen what you look like with hair (or a wig) before this video. In the middle of the video I paused it, went over and looked at some of your other videos where you were wearing a wig. I can say this with all honesty that you look even more beautiful like this. Granted I am a fan of shaved heads on women in general but your face really lends its self to this look. It makes your features (especially your eyes) stand out. You look more like a garden variety beautiful girl with hair but without it you look striking.
I realize this video was posted a while ago but i just want to comment in support. I relate so much to the things you're saying, all the way down to wearing hats on top of wigs. Wigs are SO uncomfortable and itchy, on top of feeling just fake and wrong. I don't blame you at all for disliking wearing them. I tried pretty scarves for a while, especially in the heat of summer, but people get all weird because they assume cancer and whatnot. Pity sucks. I have bald patches for a different reason- anxiety related trichotillomania- but the result is exactly what your head looks like here most of the time. Sometimes worse, sometimes better. I tend to stick with variations of a chelsea but in the current political climate i don't want to get mistaken for a skinhead.. but oh well, life is change. You're so brave to put yourself out there like this. It took me fifteen years to even admit to friends why they never saw my head uncovered. You're kinda amazing. I want you to know that you look beautiful, i actually prefer you bald because it draws attention to your gorgeous bone structure. But i do understand about wanting to present your authentic self that matches your inner image of yourself. I have struggled with that as well. Your own happiness with being you is what matters. I hope you figure out something that makes you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
You are so absolutely beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing and showing the world that there are people struggling more than they can imagine! And if people want to criticize that and shoot you down for it, it's because they have their own issues going inside of them, but they dont have the strength to share it with the world like you do. I LOVE your shaved head, you look so beautiful, but you need to do whatever make you feel comfortable even if it might take a little while for you to figure out what that is. Stay strong beautiful soul!!!💜💜💜
You are Beautiful! look at you! you have amazing eyes! Gorgeous skin! A wonderful smile! Cute little ears! Adorable nose! & a great personality! You keep your head up Girly!
If you look like an egg then you're a stunning egg that holds an amazing person underneath. You look amazing Shannon. I could never understand what it would be like to live with alopecia. It's a horrible thing and it sucks you have to loose your hair however you look still as beautiful as always. Your hair doesn't define you love. Xx
hair doesnt make you beautiful. hair wont find you love. your personality is what someone will fall in love with. if they cant love you without hair then they can never love you, its not real. your real beauty is on the inside. dont let this get you down. the world is very vein these days and its sad but love isnt vein. these days to many people confuse love with lust. i feel true love every day, and its with a women that never wears makeup, and she never tries to impress people with her appearance. shes strong, she can stand on her own and thats whats beautiful. honestly shes the most beautiful women in the world in my opinion, but i didnt realize that over night. it took me getting to know who she really was and where her heart is at. she doesnt need vanity. YOU are beautiful with or without hair, let your personality show that too. own it. no one hates you because you shaved your head. simple minded people will assume things because its not the norm, but you have to shake it off. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE, WITH OR WITHOUT HAIR. show people the beauty you have on the inside. thats what people fall in love with. your personality will have people loving you your whole life. your appearance can only get you so far
Shannon, I think most will agree with me when we say you look and are beautiful both ways. With and without hair. We will support you regardless of the decisions you make. As someone who's watched your videos for a while I'd like for you to feel comfortable with who you are once again. When I initially started watching your videos I just loved your personality and how genuine and funny you are. Overall really fun and great. You are very strong and I would want you to feel as happy as you possibly can. Do what let's you find your happiness again and be sure that we will be here to support you through it. You deserve happiness Shannon. I hope your soul feels the weight from this discomfort come off soon.
I'm not sure if you'll ever see this, but I wanted to let you know that I 100% relate to your video. Thank you for posting it. Doesn't make me feel so weird about myself to know there's at least 1 other person out there who knows how it feels. Best of luck to you :)
You have a nicely shaped head and good bone structure, so you can pull off the shaved look quite easily. Don't get upset about things outside your control, you're attractive, without the hair. You have the prettiest eyes I have ever seen and an aura of general hotness. Have you thought about a half Mohican, that might work with the hair you've got. As long as you can get someone you find attractive, I wouldn't get too hung up. An effective treatment is probably just round the corner.
This is an amazing video!!!! ugh I just want you to know that this entire video I was staring at your eyes, not your head. Everyday I wish I had the guts to shave my head because my hair is so thin and I have patches too. I hate it. I hate it because I know the little self confidence I have would wither away. I constantly dream about having thick and long hair that I see all these other girls have. It's not fair. I wonder who I would be if I didn't have hair insecurity. Shannon, you are beautiful inside and out. Don't beat yourself up about shaving your head, you're rocking it. And I hope one day you see that you're rocking it.
Hair is only an accessory, You are Beautiful with or without hair. You have such a Beautiful Glow about you. Be Happy because you are such a Gorgeous young woman!
Aww bless you xx you are beautiful xx and you are not wearing a mask, it's just an accessory like a hand bad xxx Your hair is not your identity and if you feel you have lost a part of yourself, it for you to find it in yourself xxx Good luck with everything xxx
U look beautiful without hairs too , never listen to hater . They just want to pull u back . U have great personality with beautiful sparking eyes . Trust me 💕
Thank you guys for listening to me talk, it was really important for me to share this with you all. ❤ Also, I didn't realize how much my thumbnail looked like a mugshot until just now.. heh.
HeyThereImShannon you are beautiful no matter what, i know how it is having alopecia and i have been thinking about shaving my head. Also I hope you have a good new year
I came across your video randomly. This is the first video I came across of yours, I hope you can figure things out. Your very pretty. With or without. You should do what feels right.
She knows that people think she looks beautiful with no hair. I think she doesn't mind the "beauty" aspect. It's the fact she "shed her personality" that fucks with her. That's not to say you need to stop telling her she's beautiful because she is. It's just an insanely difficult situation that can't be fixed with "BUT YOU LOOK SO PRETTY"
+Skyteify That's exactly it. I do really, really appreciate those comments, but it is definitely more about feeling authentic than it is about feeling attractive. I don't know if I did a great job explaining that aspect, but I'm really happy you understand. :)
stonerr mama But it's not what people think that matters to her, it's just how she feels on the inside that matters the most to her. I hope she can find herself, and happiness soon. ❤
The point is what she thinks, hair is a big part of her life, and she wants it back. She doesnt care if people think she looks good bald, she doesnt care if people like her with hair more, this is all what she wants.
I'm a man and think she's still really beautiful. I know it's due her self confidence but it's a shame she doesn't think she's beautiful enough. Maybe she cares too much about other people opinions?
+Saya Lotus It's not about being beautiful, that is only skin deep. She is uncomfortable being bald, life dosent make you happy and full because you are beautiful.
3:11 "now I look like an egg" Shannon, you're the most beautiful egg I've ever seen in my life! Stay strong, girl! We are all behind you and here for you!
and I'm completely not invalidating what you're saying because I'm not! You are allowed to feel however you do about yourself and your hair! But just so you know, when I think of HeyThereImShannon and Shannon Taylor, I think of a silly, fun, sassy girl. I don't think of hair at all actually. I used to be a bitchin' athlete (a runner), and then I got really sick and that was all taken away from me. I had put so much of my identity and how saw myself in my athletic abilities that when they were taken away by illness, I felt the same way you do about your hair or lack there of. And I promise you, it gets better. It's taken me 2 years to get to a point where I realize the different between WHO I AM and things that are A PART OF ME. Who i am (and who you are) are not connected to temporary things like hair or pathetic abilities or a certain look or talent. You are you because of what's inside. You are beautiful because of your heart, your intentions, your dreams, your quirks, your personality. It takes time to realize how to separate those things, but I promise you that you will learn and grow and get there! We are all here for you! Thank you for being honest and real :) Sending much love your way!
Why not grow a mohawk? I mean, I've had one for years as an expression of my love of punk and my Native culture. You have thick hair in the center and you could just shave the sides. I think you'd rock it and who knows? it could be something that makes you feel more comfortable. Maybe it will make your Alopecia more of a badass part of your hairstyle rather than something you're trying to hide. Punk culture has always been about expressing yourself and being proud of the scars that make you YOU, after all. Plus, you could use the sides as artistic templates for colors or prints or just random designs you want. I had leopard print on the sides for a while that I added by airbrush makeup and stencils. lol I don't know, just trying to suggest something that might make you feel awesome. I wish you the best 2017!
Admittedly this is the first video of yours Ive watched & I can't imagine the struggles that go along with alopecia & I won't pretend to. But I have to say you look REALLY cute with a shaved head! Only a very tiny percentage of women can actually pull the look off- You look like a young Demi Moore! So try not to be so hard on yourself. On the upside you were blessed with a beautifully shaped head & the bone structure to not only pull it off but totally rock it! xx
How is she at all like Trisha Paytas? She barely ever posts drama videos unless she's defending herself or updating her subscribers on her life. If that's a drama channel then you really need to rethink that.
Girl im with you i have alopeecia too i am completley bald and i wear 1 wig i know its hard my mom shaved my head and it got worse and worse till i got bald and then i lost my eyebrows and my lashes and it broke my heart but i deal with it till i get hope and i hope u get it first because it looks like you really need it ❤️❤️😘
When I was 11 they said I would be the first one in the uk to have injections into my head but I wasn't going to do that. But I might go back to the doctors because it was getting better but atm it's going down hill
Lesly The scary monster girl im saying that because she is really feeling not herself and all these years of pain i love her and i dont want to see her in such a Pain
✖ArcticKitty19✖ Same. I used to have this beautiful, long waist-length black hair. I had the prettiest hair in the entire school or something, I don't know. I never really liked it, and it had been the same style my entire life, so I cut it into a short pixie cut. For a month or two, I really liked it, but now I hate it, and I'm growing it out, but it's growing much slower than I anticipated. My hair grew to be past my waist in two fucking years, that means eight or nine inches per year, and it's been six months and it's not even to my shoulders. I hate it. I keep remembering what it was like to put my hair up, or have my sister braid it, or just feel it on my shoulders and back. I like short hair, but I want my hair to reach my shoulders. I know this is nothing compared to what Shannon is going through, I almost feel stupid posting this comment on this video.
Kitty Kat Sounds like getting exstensions would be good idea for you they can clip in, tape or glue them in if you go to a professional salon it's really pricey but it's worth it for some people or you can buy some online like here's some known brands hairextensionmagazine.com Also Vpfashion is a good quality brand and you can just clip them in and they'll stay and you can take them off at the end of the day. But only if you really want to (>.
Hall Olivia not trying to be mean, just trying to give suggestions for what to do with her hair since shes clearly done and feeling like shit about it. I figured since as she said herself her hair on top it luckily pretty full but her sides are bugging her she should just leave the top and shave the sides instead of shaving all or growing everything out :)
I have trichotillomania. It's gotten so bad to the point 75% of my hair is gone now. I'm trying to build the courage to just shave my head but this encouraged me more.
I got a Black synthetic ladys wig for 4$ a long time back at some weird website. Im a guy. Being bald by 26 is like walking around everywhere and ur wieners hanging out ur fly
@@zazarays Guys have so many great options now! I showed a guy friend of mine Brad Mondo's video where he talked about 'man weaves'; There's a clip in his video of a white guy who got a longer, lace front style toupee (basically like a women's lace front closure), the stylist glued it down and then styled it into a really natural looking high and tight style cut. My friend is super self conscious because he lost all the hair on the top of his head really young, so he keeps the hair in the back really long and he combs it all forward and wears a beanie.. He's done this every day for years, he's even had girlfriends who have never seen him without a beanie on.. After I showed him the video we imediately started looking online at prices and salons, now he's got an upcoming consultation with a stylist.. There are so many really natural looking options for guys now, many of which are very affordable.. I just think the process is really cool, and so versatile.. If that's something you might be interested in you should check out Brad's video!
I have trichotillomania and I find myself pulling out my eyelashes and hair on my other parts of my body but it has gotten so much better with age and being preoccupied in life.
"i look like an egg" GURL U LOOK LIKE AN ICE GODDESS WARRIOR QUEEN FROM AN ISLAND WHERE ONLY THE PRETTIEST OF WOMAN STRIVE TO BE BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE AND OUT
Cece Lian but you're not being helpful, if you're telling her to do something that she can't. She literally does not feel like herself anymore, because of this. She can't just change her mind, just like that.
Cece Lian I agree with Stephanie; the last thing someone who feels this way wants to hear is DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY. that's fucking ignorant and naive and clearly you haven't felt anywhere close to this level of depression or hopelessness. don't say shallow stupid things when you know nothing about the situation. I have severe clinical depression, which has destroyed my life in many ways. it's not something I can control. I've been on medication and in therapy my whole life, but sometimes that's not even enough. it's a chemical imbalance that NO ONE understands unless they have it. go frolick about with your rose colored glasses and keep your "advise" to yourself. it doesn't help.
Sandipaws I had a friend growing up who had it as well. She is one of the strongest people I've ever known, and she rocks the bald look and her wigs like a queen :) she is a brave woman.
First of all, you are gorgeous. You pull off the shaved look better than anyone I have seen, and the shape of your head and bone structure are actually VERY flattering with this look! My first thought when I opened the video was how strikingly beautiful you are, and I think you really need to hear that. I know how hard it is to struggle with hair loss, and how much of an impact that can have on your mental health, self esteem, and even your identity as a woman. I was especially attached to my long hair because I had previously lost it after undergoing chemotherapy and having it grow back was like a symbol of my perseverance - to lose it after everything I had gone through felt extremely unfair. I had to reach a certain level of acceptance before the darkness of my depression consumed me, but I still struggle with it every day. I don't think anyone can fully understand the impact a condition like this has on your general quality of life unless they have experienced it themselves, so try not to let the hateful comments get to you, they are only projecting their own insecurities onto you and you are more beautiful than any of them could ever hope to be.
HeyThereImShannon kay so where your contour goes you put highlight there , where your highlight goes your put bronzer, your eyeliner goes in your eye corner , samething goes for your eyeshadow, eyebrows are switched places
I was about to say the same. You look AMAZING. You have a very feminine face and your make-up is on the point, that super fits with a buzz cut imho. But it is your life, so whatever you decide, go for it! You are beautiful, with or without hair, but you have to OWN it! Beauty doesn't come from the outside. Another option would be trying to study buddhism. Really. It might help you deal with yourself, having a better understanding about your constructions on who you are. Wish you the best!
I really don't care, do you have hair or nope. coz you are cool in any appearance. when you are outside wearing wig - no one recognizes that you are wearing it or having bold head too, only when someone hates you, will be laughing, making shame for you, to hurt you. I'll be honest I love bold people with tattoos on the scalp.
You are so beautiful Shannon!! Wig or not you are still gorgeous. I'm sorry you have to feel this way, you should not have to go through this. Stay strong babe! XOXO
Honestly, you look beautiful with a shaved head. You have a great head shape and a beautiful face. You should look in the mirror more often because you're a lot prettier and feminine than most girls I've seen with long hair!
I don't have alopecia, but I do relate on some level. I'm Native American and having long virgin hair is something super important in my family. I've dyed my hair a bit lighter but haven't ever REALLY cut it or done what I've wanted with it. I remember cutting 6inches off of my 24in hair in 5th grade and bawling my eyes out for days. I've always been "Cheyenne with the really pretty hair" and it's gotten to a point where my hair = me. I've talked to my therapist about this and I tell her about how I want to do things with my hair but I dont want to touch my hair out of fear of loosing myself. She's suggested that the issue doesn't lie in my hair, but rather the identity that I've put into it. Shes worked with me on starting to realize that the things on my outside are not the things that make me, me. And its a really odd concept because I've always been the type of person to be like "fuck what everyone thinks, I am what's on my inside" and I believe that. But to myself, I'm what's on my outside. It's not an issue with how others view me, but rather where I place my own identity. I guess what I'm trying to say is, do what makes you happy, grow your hair out if you feel happier and better. But the things on your outside shouldn't "make you yourself." And this sounds really pointed and mom-like, but I'm saying it more to myself that to you. Do the things you want, but don't rely on those things to make you you. And this isn't to say don't do the things that express you, but rather know who you are with or without them.
Cheyenne i have had the same problem in the past. for obviously being 'jasmine with the colored hair'. I've been able to overcome that fortunetly and now go back and forth to my original brown hair and colored hair. glad to know someone else gets it! 😄❤❤❤❤❤
Cheyenne I am half Cherokee, but my mother is the Indian. My father is a Greek. When my parents got divorced, they didn't talk much. Two years ago, my dad asked if I wanted a pixie cut. I had no fucking clue what a pixie cut was, so I said yes. I went home to my mom bawling. She was pissed. So, I have been growing my hair for 2 years and it hasn't grown out to the point it was (Chest length).
hi! my sister and brother also have alopecia, they got better with aloe vera plant. They will cut it then take the gel out and rub it on the patches. They also taking vitamin E. Now they are ok. I hope you give it a try. Stress is also causing it.
I can relate. I don’t have alopecia, but I suffer from Trichotillomania and wear wigs because my case is very severe. My family wants me to shave my head and stop wearing wigs because they feel like my wig makes me “less authentic” but honestly, even though I don’t feel like myself when I wear a wig, I don’t believe that shaving my head would make me feel any better about myself or feel more authentic. I wasn’t born bald and before I had my condition, I had very long hair that would receive a ton of compliments from people. Like you have stated, I would only feel like myself if I had long hair that grew out of my own head. I think I’d only shave my head to please my family but that’s about it. Thanks for uploading this video.
You're still beautiful whether you wear a wig or not! Your face shape is perfect for both hair and no hair. True fans care about your personality and your humour and not your face (even though it's absolutely gorgeous) or your hair! Stay strong Shannon, we love you
I never comment on videos, but you made me want to change that. I don't have alopecia but I have multiple mental illnesses that I struggle to cope with. As you dislike wearing a wig, I dislike taking multiple medications to strive to be a normal human being. Each time I take a pill it's just "masking" my personality as an introverted, anxious and enervated soul. Also, I'm sorry as fuck for making a comment about myself when this video is about you. You have such an awesome personality and no matter how long it takes you to feel comfortable in front of the camera, everyone of your subscribers want more videos from you and will wait until your ready! Honestly, I want you to make more "real" videos like this, I like when youtubers get deep with their subscribes and keep us updated. It makes each of us feel more connected as viewers. I wish you the best, Shannon. Happy New Year.
Axel Chains I also stuggle like you and have trouble taking about it, admitting it and having to have to treat it. I also think that Shannon is a bad a$$ and respect her honesty.
Axel Chains I think I feel like you.... when I started to take my medications I kind of felt I lost myself, I became numb and still feel like I'm nobody.... and then on the other side my medications make me sick. as. fuck. Make me want to vomit and give me headaches, just real sick 😕
Sounds like bad side affects. Yuck. Sorry you have to go through that. Sorry for talking out of turn. I went through a bunch of different medications and diagnoses before I got where I am now. Some days are better. Some days are worse. It's far better that I ever thought possible for me though. Keep trying. Never give up. All the crap passes eventually.
Not everyone can pull off a shaved head but your head shape complements it. I understand what your saying about wanting your own hair back. When I was in my 20's I lost chunks of my hair due to a medication. Without hesitation I picked up my hair clippers and shaved away. I absolutely loved it but because of worrying about what others would think when out in public I wore wigs. To me wearing the wigs made me feel like I wasn't who I was. I felt fake so I went out one day with no wig. I received so many compliments on how my hair suited my face and vice versa. This was a time period when all the females wore their hair the same way so I was very surprised with all the positivity. I never put a wig back on but my hair eventually grew back. I'm almost 49yrs old and have medical problems and finally realized I couldn't keep up with keeping my hair maintained. As you can see in my profile pic I picked up the clippers again and shaved my head all the way around except the top. My hair doesn't define me as who I am as a person, nor does yours. As a youngster I can understand the need to have your own hair but do it for yourself. As for me, I'll continue to keep my shaved. Best of luck to you angel.
HeyThereImShannon Thank you so much. My pic is of me. You make me blush!
You deserve more honour. Preach it!
Girl you're beautiful. We need so many more people in this world acting as you! Lovely thing to do for the world!! Xx
that is so beautiful. god bless you and your momma!
I suffer from alopecia too and I'm going to shave my head but I won't be sad about it because I will look badass
hope all goes well haha
RavenAngel 171 Hell yea. you'll definitely look like a bad ass.
RavenAngel 171 you go girl/boy. idk cuz that assumy my gender thing is crazy lol. but i hope everything goes great 😊😊
alex 97 girl you don't know that she could look like a alien
Olive D above it's people like you that just need to step back and say to themselves wtf am I doing.
I understand how you feel, not feeling like yourself. You are so beautiful, you look awesome with a shaved head!!!! You,really do, stay strong!! Xox
Check out Abby Andrews she has alopecia and she has really inspiring videos!
You might find, the more you wear it in public, you might love yourself in it more and more ♡
You are beautiful
i really hope shannon reads this
I am the same. ❤️
Lisa Smith (Hugs) to you, too. I'm so sorry for your pain, xo.
So unfortunate. To me you look much better without hair. But that's just me. You are gorgeous and don't need any kind of hair to hide behind.
I wish you all the best, my dear.
Andriy Makarov exactly!
Perfectly put.
I wish I could Highlight and PIN this comment myself!!!! 🙌💯
Melissa Brockaway ..... any progress concerning your hair?!
Some of the prettiest girls don't wear makeup at all 😉
I think you are beautiful!!! I'm taking a chemo drug and am losing my hair. My hubby said well you can get wigs in every color, nope I'm going to rock bald!!!
I hope u have gotten better 🙏🏻
Hope you're doing great.
Living Life with Momma Wendy I hope ur doing better how are u know
Praying for you, love. You look gorgeous, stay strong! Xoxo
I wasn't staring at your head at all. I was too busy admiring your makeup :)
Pendulum sameeeeee
Elliemcel I completely agree. She such a beautiful girl, her features are stunning
Totally agree with Elliemcel!! Embrace this new beauty
Lucille Harper
i have alopecia areata as well. wasn't born with it, but it just showed up after a stressful period in my life.. my hair grew back but now it's falling out again. its fcking frustrating.
i feel u girl.
Celina Liya sometimes it falls out and grows back.i had first patch 2014 then one year nothing all grew out and last year i had two smaller ones. just take it year at a time it ia okay to have bad periods but most possibly it will grow back when your immune system stabilises :) much love xxxx
dude your hair is so cool. uniqueness is great.
You are legit so beautiful. I cannot get over it.
My face looks so bad with short hair but my hair is legit unmanageable. Like hairdressers let me cry about it the whole time.
I don't know what to do,
I think you pull off the shaved head AMAZINGLY!!! Your facial features and eyes stand out and you look beautiful 🤍 feel better!
you're the prettiest egg in the whole world😍
I stumbled on this video and I had to leave a comment. Full stop, you ARE STUNNING! Also, when you say "now I look like an egg" you must mean perfect. Your head shape is gorgeous to. In case no one has ever told you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14
Blessings to you and forget all the haters.
bless you for being open and sharing your experiences with us. you disposed of a veil most women couldnt imagine losing. life takes crazy turns, dont beat yourself up for being optimistic about a treatment. hugs from sacramento ca, keep being a strong and experimental woman and your influence will continue to be cherished ❤
You have a gorgeous face. and your head is a nice shape :) you look really pretty even with your head shaved. And I'm not just saying that! I'd count myself lucky to be your boyfriend!
Imyournewpeppep please go like my comment Shannon needs to see it
Imyournewpeppep i love here head shape and here face i love her
You are just beautiful without hair!
You might not agree but i like you with a shaved head (: its very beautiful on you (: dont let your hair define you ok?(: thats not you ok?(:
Mariee is Kinda Dead preach. you are beautiful Shannon
Prayers goes out to you Shannon. You Got This. God has your back. Don't let anyone tell you different. You're Very Beautiful with or without hair. You got my support and shame on non believers that don't experience this buzz. Next time, It could be you in Shannon's situation.
You look beautiful the way you are, if people stare at you, they're just jealous of your beauty
I don't think she cares about her attraction. She cares about her identity.
Visual Fiction She looks beautiful either way
I think she looks absolutely gorgeous with and without hair. No hair is hard to rock but Shannon looks great with it, she has a great shaped head.
Ghosti Anne toontown yasss
You look more like a garden variety beautiful girl with hair but without it you look striking.
thank you for being honest
You, my dear, are stunningly beautiful without the hair. Why a modeling agency hasn't signed you yet is beyond me!
You are soooo pretty without your hair! Your face and head is just so beautiful and not at all like an egg! 😍😍😍
Your GORGEOUS eyes, more noticeable because no hair to distract! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😍
Be Happy because you are such a Gorgeous young woman!
omg i have ur cardigan that ur wearing i feel special.
and ur like holy mother of jesus attractive? so like
...Jesus of suburbia
Aww bless you xx you are beautiful xx and you are not wearing a mask, it's just an accessory like a hand bad xxx Your hair is not your identity and if you feel you have lost a part of yourself, it for you to find it in yourself xxx
Good luck with everything xxx
U look beautiful without hairs too , never listen to hater . They just want to pull u back . U have great personality with beautiful sparking eyes . Trust me 💕
Be you self... You are BEAUTIFUL
You look really good. Taking control of your hair is better than your hair ruling you.
You are such a beautiful woman with a beautiful, clear light that comes from you. Your truthfulness is important and beautiful.
Thank you guys for listening to me talk, it was really important for me to share this with you all. ❤ Also, I didn't realize how much my thumbnail looked like a mugshot until just now.. heh.
HeyThereImShannon nah
HeyThereImShannon 💜💜 ok, actually... 😂😂😂😂😂 I didn't even notice that but it does.
HeyThereImShannon ❤️
HeyThereImShannon lol and I don't mind these kind of videos tbh sad videos or serious videos but yeah :3
HeyThereImShannon you are beautiful no matter what, i know how it is having alopecia and i have been thinking about shaving my head. Also I hope you have a good new year
Who needs hair with a face like that?! ❤ You are gorgeous girl!!
Michelle Make-Up helped... So, don't really
super gorgeous!!
I came across your video randomly. This is the first video I came across of yours, I hope you can figure things out. Your very pretty. With or without. You should do what feels right.
J it's not like it changes your facial structure she's beautiful regardless
Yeah too bad she got a trashy ass tattoo across her chest like a fucking prison inmate tho
HeyThereImShannon sometimes the best thing in shitty situations is just knowing someone understands.
thats very true! people can say all that they want about looks but its not like it can be fixed with a simple compliment...
Skyteify I feel the same
Skyteify
amen
Your so pretty fuck what people think
stonerr mama Ikr
stonerr mama But it's not what people think that matters to her, it's just how she feels on the inside that matters the most to her. I hope she can find herself, and happiness soon. ❤
stonerr mama ikr. She is so pretty no matter what. She definitely suits no hair
The point is what she thinks, hair is a big part of her life, and she wants it back. She doesnt care if people think she looks good bald, she doesnt care if people like her with hair more, this is all what she wants.
stonerr mama You're*
I actually think you look really cute without hair... its my birthday today and everyond is busy. 😢 it sucks lmao
Happy Birthday
Veronica Solorzano happy birthday love!
happy birthday!
Happy birthday!
Veronica Solorzano Happy Birthday !
I just shaved my head 10 min ago.
I did it yesterday (not completely) and I have this weird anxiety about itbecause I don't feel like myself anymore. Literally panicking back and forth
Bunny same. I just shaved my head a couple hours ago and I don’t recognize myself when I look in the mirror
Grace B I know it’s scary but you do get used to it. Hang in there ❤️
@@PrincessJichu thank u bby
Did it affect your hair in any bad way or it's no difference from just having a new hair cut?
you are so pretty, i can't breathe.....
kream You should see me then😉
Hannah Smith umm. ..
Hannah Smith you are average
Hannah Smith WELL THEN.
Hannah Smith
Pretty sure she'll breathe just fine after seeing you...Sorry to burst your narcissistic bubble.
idk whats happening, i dont know who she is, but she looks beautiful bald. really. and im a girl lol
I agree
I'm a man and think she's still really beautiful.
I know it's due her self confidence but it's a shame she doesn't think she's beautiful enough.
Maybe she cares too much about other people opinions?
ieda18 same
x W4LK3R x no she did it because she was losing hair and she was tired of it so she just shaved it off
x W4LK3R x oh and she was also tired of going through treatments due to it like getting shots and shit
Can I just make it clear... YOU ARE FUCKING BEAUTIFUL WITHOUT HAIR
Abigail C. Terrell I Know!!!!! she is incredibly gorgeous with buzz cut its so so sad she can't see that 💔
I will sub back to anyone who sub me.just reply DONE and like my videos this comment.
Abigail C. Terrell I agree. she is stunning af~
+Saya Lotus It's not about being beautiful, that is only skin deep. She is uncomfortable being bald, life dosent make you happy and full because you are beautiful.
Gorgeous Claret
Ew
Today i met a girl at the mall with a shaved head, it was the first time i was attracted to a girl, shaved heads rock!
nuella tutifruti yesss
Ayyyyyyy
You were attracted because she resembled a man
@@el_principe3611 yeah but she's prettier still effiminized which is hot
@@el_principe3611 Wow you see women bald as men? You must have a hard time identifying real women.
U might be an egg, but atleast your not a chicken nugget
You can still evolve into a cute alive chicken
Åsa Persson lol that made me laugh 😂
I love myself even if I look like a burnt chicken nugget.
NAMJOONS FACE oh...Arrmmyy
Åsa Persson You're*, but yeah.
I mean, if you're an egg you're a ridiculously hot egg.
Jane Lott welp. if she's an egg im an egg. 😌💞 i love shannon
Jane Lott I'm dying
Jane Lott me too. Like I wanna be an egg.
Thank you for being honest and real :) Sending much love your way!
she ain't even a egg she looks like amber rose
Maddy Moore inside that egg is a yolk a beautiful yellow yolk
Maddy Moore i'm vegan but if she looks like an egg, she's my favorite egg ever
Maddy Moore no she pulled a Britney Spears indoors!
Hair , no hair. You are still beautiful.

I'm joking
That's so sweet 💓❤

Lania Mars pls dont
You look freaking amazing/ beautiful with no hair! I am not being nice
Pharah Merancier I hate to break it to you kid, but you are indeed being nice😂😂😂
Pharah Merancier I think what you meant was "I'm not just being nice, I mean it".
Lmao oh my god
Hannah Smith
"I am not being nice"
Me: ok
*Iam not just saying that to be nice but you look beautiful without hair 👌💖
BRUH lol I like your name 😊
Twiggy Morris I was thinking the same thing. it would work since her hair good in the mohawk area :)
Twiggy Morris i love punk so much too,i want a mohawk so bad
Twiggy Morris or maybe a buzz cut
ratstew they're really fun and easy to maintain! so much less shampoo.
Alexis LaPierre ...she has a buzzcut tho.
On the upside you were blessed with a beautifully shaped head & the bone structure to not only pull it off but totally rock it! xx
LitAfuseiCantStop I couldn't agree more! This is also my first video of hers I'm watching and she's so fucking stunning with her head shaved.

How is she at all like Trisha Paytas? She barely ever posts drama videos unless she's defending herself or updating her subscribers on her life. If that's a drama channel then you really need to rethink that.
Parawhore ! Right, Trisha is a fucking mess. They are nothing alike.
Parawhore ! OMG I love your profile picture and name sorry not Trish related but just wanted to say that
Sadie Nix It's okay don't apologize lol. I love finding fellow fans.
Parawhore ! me too I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
she is at least honest about herself
Hi!!! U r beautiful just the way u r

I couldn't shave my head.. I had loads but it still falling out. I've had alopecia since I was like 10/11 so like 6 years now
I have aloepecia too
The whole part where my fringe was has completely fallen out.
Im scared of following treatments
When I was 11 they said I would be the first one in the uk to have injections into my head but I wasn't going to do that. But I might go back to the doctors because it was getting better but atm it's going down hill
Yasminaax / "It looks like you really need it" 😂😂😂😂 what the fuck child helpless!
Lesly The scary monster girl im saying that because she is really feeling not herself and all these years of pain i love her and i dont want to see her in such a
Pain
Everytime Shannon talks about the injections I feel sad I know she's strong but I just wanna hug her.
✖ArcticKitty19✖ SAMEE😭😭😭😭💖💖💖💖
Kitty Kat Sounds like getting exstensions would be good idea for you they can clip in, tape or glue them in if you go to a professional salon it's really pricey but it's worth it for some people or you can buy some online like here's some known brands hairextensionmagazine.com
Also Vpfashion is a good quality brand and you can just clip them in and they'll stay and you can take them off at the end of the day. But only if you really want to (>.
✖ArcticKitty19✖ the comment and the picture are perfect....
Have you ever thought of just shaving the sides and leaving the top?
Julia L. meanny
Julia L. that's what I thought
+Hall Olivia, what exactly is mean about that? Her comment was not at all rude. And it is "meany", or "meanie", but definitely NOT "meanny".
Yeah that would look good on her
I have trichotillomania. It's gotten so bad to the point 75% of my hair is gone now. I'm trying to build the courage to just shave my head but this encouraged me more.
Capitan X good luck. it must be really hard but it will be okay, hope you get better.
I got a Black synthetic ladys wig for 4$ a long time back at some weird website. Im a guy. Being bald by 26 is like walking around everywhere and ur wieners hanging out ur fly
I hav that too, and I shaved to stop myself from pulling on my hair, also I look wierd with patches. I still don't know if it's the right choice.
"i look like an egg"
GURL U LOOK LIKE AN ICE GODDESS WARRIOR QUEEN FROM AN ISLAND WHERE ONLY THE PRETTIEST OF WOMAN STRIVE TO BE BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE AND OUT
Pryor Bee you should write people cards because that was really sweet
Damn, this is the best comment. GO YOU!
That's *exactly* what I thought! Hahahaha! XD

.......
Miss Emily currently deflating
😂😂😂what?
Lucia Osuji
trisha paytas breakdown reference, she called herself a lonely chicken nugget.
Miss Emily😂
never regret choices that you make. You are still beautiful. Smile, don't worry. Be HAPPY!!!
Cece Lian she's tried. Did you even listen to her? She said that no matter what she did, she couldn't feel comfortable with a buzz cut.
Stephanie Roth I'm trying to feel. I'm attempting to be supportive. Don't kill it
I think you should regret some choices. especially if they're stupid choices
As someone who also suffers from alopecia, I feel your pain. You're not alone in this.
Sandipaws I suffer from it as well 😪I'm 15
Sandipaws im 16 and i suffer from it as well
Sandipaws I had a friend growing up who had it as well. She is one of the strongest people I've ever known, and she rocks the bald look and her wigs like a queen :) she is a brave woman.
I get so much shit for it as a 15 year old it’s annoying
I know twins that both have it
i know what you mean - how you feel "separate" from your own self image. i hope you feel better soon 💕
Same
sarcastichearts I have Alopecia and when I shave my head and don't have my wig on it's like I don't look like myself.
jennaynay99 your face is what makes you you not your hair. Hair means nothing.
maybe not to you but try having alopecia. it affects you more than you think
im crying.. this girl is so pretty and just down to earth and her makeup and eyes and lips and just she's so beautiful..
Bailey B same
shannnon you should do a video of reverse makeup
+a pvris child That sounds super cool but I've never heard of that before! How is it done? :o
HeyThereImShannon kay so where your contour goes you put highlight there , where your highlight goes your put bronzer, your eyeliner goes in your eye corner , samething goes for your eyeshadow, eyebrows are switched places
a pvris child oh I saw BriannaJoy do that. I don't know if other UA-camrs have done it but it's pretty cool
that's a great idea
Dyana Garcia ikr
I feel like women with shaved heads somehow look so much more feminine! I don’t know why but I love it!
You have a great shaped head, and good bone structure. You are stunning actually.
Sandy Fox she REALLY is
Sandy Fox uhh I agree!! shes GORGEOUS
Sarah Blomfield a
I was about to say the same.
I really don't care, do you have hair or nope.
coz you are cool in any appearance.
when you are outside wearing wig - no one recognizes that you are wearing it
or having bold head too, only when someone hates you, will be laughing, making shame for you, to hurt you.
I'll be honest I love bold people with tattoos on the scalp.
You are so beautiful Shannon!! Wig or not you are still gorgeous. I'm sorry you have to feel this way, you should not have to go through this. Stay strong babe! XOXO
I would love you to do makeup/ cosplay vids. :) That would be awesome. Ily
If you're an egg then I'm that piece of cheese off of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
Annakatherinexo lol
Annakatherinexo Same😭😭😭😂😂

hey did you guys get any chips
Shannon since at 4:03 you said that the top of your head has thicker hair you should just shave the side it actually would look really good
Carmen Fabela
True
Carmen Fabela I agree
Carmen Fabela I was thinking the same thing.
Carmen Fabela lol ya
Yea. That's what I thought too!!!
Honestly, you look beautiful with a shaved head. You have a great head shape and a beautiful face. You should look in the mirror more often because you're a lot prettier and feminine than most girls I've seen with long hair!
Shannon looks so cute and pretty bald!
Isabelle Peacock guys please go like my comment she needs to see it I also had alopecia
Sensation Al I'm so sorry for you I hope ur okay!
Matthew Familia not i dont
Chocolate Chip Coder surely that's your own fault? you said yes to it...
Update: I'm going in tommorow to dye my hair purple. I'm super excited :)
+Cheyenne Yo, that's gonna look hot AF O_o
Not every girl can pull off being bald. You look absolutely beautiful
hi! my sister and brother also have alopecia, they got better with aloe vera plant. They will cut it then take the gel out and rub it on the patches. They also taking vitamin E. Now they are ok. I hope you give it a try. Stress is also causing it.
ps. you are beautiful and alopecia can't take that away from you. Keep you chin up! 😉
Fambam in Holland this also helped my sister!!!!! has to be aloe straight from the plant!
Magie Struck yeah it should be the plant not the processed one. And take vitamin e along with it.
Thanks for uploading this video.
you are so beautiful, nothing will ever change that. 💜💜💜 I love you so much!!
Oh my Josh I'm so Dun Your name♡
+Michael Is Not On Fire +Oh my Josh I'm so Dun noice names m8
Oh my Josh I'm so Dun JOSHDUN.
You're still beautiful whether you wear a wig or not! Your face shape is perfect for both hair and no hair. True fans care about your personality and your humour and not your face (even though it's absolutely gorgeous) or your hair! Stay strong Shannon, we love you
Thank you so much, I really appreciate hearing that more than you know.
You're absolutely welcome, that's good to hear
I think you look really cute, but when your patches get better will you ever let your hair start growing back?
Melody Joy not really😂 I got threw like half of it
Melody Joy okay that's good, thank you for letting me know appreciate it
You rock that shaved head, you look good
i love u girl
Axel Chains this is so lovely 💜
Gypsy Dover anyone can
Brooke Melton You are right. I shouldn't have said that like that my sincere apologies.
