Me and my wife went through the worst possible scenario you can think of. Statistics say we shouldnt be married anymore. Our marriage for sure was on the brink of death. 2 years later and its 10x stronger than it was. Some times I think people give up to fast. I love my wife more than anybody on this planet. I also love my two daughters. And our kids are way better off with both parents showing them LOVE CAN WIN!!!!

Same, brother... been married almost 19 years and together for 25 years... we never fight... we just have learned to be selfless, put your spouse first, love Jesus.... never lived with her or was intimate with her before marriage.... no test drive here, but we believe that when you make a promise, you mean it for life. My wife is the only person I truely want to be with every single day of the rest of my life. On 7/20/02 I promised to forsake all others and love her until death parts us.... and I mean to keep that promise that I made to the woman who committed herself to my word. That's what real men do. Real man shit (pardon my language lol)

Just celebrated 23 yrs this month. When I got out of the military I told my wife "now you're stuck with me all the time" lol. My wife and I travel, she smokes cigars with me and we also can do our own thing. My wife is probably the more serious introvert and I'm the sarcastic joking introvert. Now that I'm retired she enjoys my gardening and taking care around the house and my cooking, the only times she has got stuck with the cooking duty is after my surgeries. Congrats on the 13yrs and hope many more come your way.

Been with my wife for 28 years, she was 21, I was 19. Raised 4 children been through it all. The one thing that kept us together is love with NO conditions! I've been dedicated to her success and she's been dedicated to mine. We had the mindset that there is no deeper commitment than ours to each other. Now we're 46 and 49, empty nesters, with 5 grandchildren living our best lives!

You guys are totally right. Marriage is not just one person way. I was datng my wife for 22 years. Right now we are married for 5 years and we are still together. Relationship is love , anger, sex and many more not just feeling up the empty space of your partner. Keep the good work of be with someone who you love.

Good advice guys. I’m 53, married had my kids with someone that I didn’t like and stayed in it for 19 years, worst mistake of my life. Now as an older man and hopefully wiser I tell the young guys I work with to find someone you want to share a cup of coffee with because sex isn’t the end all be all you thought it was at 16. Remarried someone I liked and lost her to a brain tumor in 2012 and haven’t ever mustered the courage to do it again. When I see people like you I must admit I’m envious of what you have.

We give each other our own space and we are still the best friends when together, her strengths are my weaknesses, and my strengths are her weaknesses, and we compliment each other. And we have both been blessed with each other. May God continue to bless your family always!

Hi there, guys. I totally agree with your view on the matter. Where i live, a marriage is often compared to being imprisoned (as a joke of course but that says something about overall attitude) and people instead of making a team together, they confine each other. I know many, including my parents. Looking at you guys, having healthy and mature relationship just makes a heart grow. I congratulate you 😄.

I’ll give you my man-style perspective: the absolute best accomplishment you can have as a man in this life is to earn, keep, and deserve the love of a good woman. Period. Everything else becomes easy from there. With that said, all of the details that you mention - liking each other, shared values, enjoy your own interests, have fun, healthy perspective and outlook on life, protective of family - are indicators to ensure you pick the right one.

The secret to a successful marriage is 5 points:
    1- Intellectual maturity
    2- Understanding
    3- Waivers
    4- Sacrifice
5- Knowing (When/Where/Why) and respecting personal space, spatially and psychologically.

What is it with wives and leaving the peanut butter on the knife. Mine does this as well. We are going on 20 years in October. Both our first marriage. You hit all things bang on. My wife and I are best friends. Advice I received was pick your battles wisely. My wife and I have never yet had a drag out fight...a few arguments but we agree to disagree and move on. My wife and I did live together first which is an eye opener. The little quirky stuff you find out about someone when you live with them is better found out before you tie the knot. Great video. Love your channel.

As a Christian, who is married to a Christian, I really appreciate this advice. My wife and I did not live together, HOWEVER, we did communicate expectations and spent a lot of time together before marriage. We understood we are both different people and support each other in any way we can.
I think one tip that has been amazing for us is to realize we are BOTH ON THE SAME TEAM. It’s not me vs her or her vs me. When we get upset or frustrated, we remind each other, we are on the same team. Our intentions are the same and not taking one bad decision so personal it ruins the relationship. We communicate through it and respect each other as much as possible.
Love your channel! Thanks for all your content

This is perfectly put guys! Me and my wife just had our 3 year wedding anniversary, however, we’ve been together for almost 12 years. A lot of my friends struggle in their marriages because they fight a lot or they do everything together. In 12 years I can count on 1 hand how many big fights we’ve been in, all of which were my fault 😂

All of these are things my wife have abided by, in one capacity or another, over the last 24 years. People find it weird and wonder how after dating only 6 weeks, we landed where we are (hint: three words: own your shit; different story, different day). Especially considering that we are 45 and 43 and have 3 children. The oldest is daughter at 24 (go figure, who'dof guessed?) on her own. Middle is son 22, will likely always live with us, severely autistic, non verbal, non self-sustaining. Our youngest son is 20, on his own. I love my wife, and yes, she is definitely my best friend. I love my kids and talk to them weekly, if not daily. They know where the nest is in times of trouble . These are great pointers and pointers we have always abided by. Minus a bit of concession on the first one, I wholeheartedly agree these are fantastic pointers for a fantastic marriage. Ne best frienda and best lovers. Always encourage your children to fail early and fail often, but also to always know where home is. Keep up the great vids bro 👊🏼😎👍🏼

“He who knows, does not speak. He who speaks, does not know. " - so much from Lao Tse (Laozi), who, after writing these words, teaches on another 500 pages about the same (roughly speaking). Anyway, what I like about what you do and say on your channel is (for me) a clear synergy. When I see how you treat friends, loved ones, animals, I see consistency and it gives credibility to this channel and the Host. Greetings from Poland and all the best for you and your loved ones. I got to the "Marry someone you like" and started laughing. I have a great friend who always finds reasons to break off the relationship. She's a great person but the consistency isn't there for a real committed relationship. I mean I can rely on her but over analytical and I never know what version I'm going to get and if we're going to be talking and hanging out or if she's going to head off in to the abyss. So yes, in this culture of millions of people at your fingertips it's difficult to find a genuine friendship. I think a lot of people miss this concept.

13 years, congrats! It's the early years that form the foundation for the future ones. My wife and I have been together since teenagers. Dated 7 years before we got married 40 years ago. So, been together almost 50 years. There are always bumps along the way, but you work through that together. Great video, thank you.

A great tip for a great marriage, is to never say anything in anger that you wouldn't when calm and trust absolutely, because if you have to worry about what the person is doing, you shouldn't be together

Great video, brother. My girlfriend and I met after the fires in Oregon last fall. Living in a hotel room will tell you everything about a person. We haven't argued hardly at all

Great video. Good to know I'm on the right track. Now all I need to do is to put a ring on that damn finger. The one thing I've learnt, is sometimes you have to be the bad guy. If you significant other is in a bad habit that is detrimental to them, you've gotta help them better themselves.
Also, who the hell down votes a video about a happy marriage??

Love with them before marriage is debatable. There’s no way you can measure the success of longevity based on living with them. Too many factors to take in consideration. How long do you live with them? Will they do something today that they won’t do later or vise versa. Should you choose a partner who doesn’t rinse off dishes bc he or she hasn’t been taught to do that. Or a partner who chews with their mouth open. The list is endless. All you can do is ask alot of the important questions up front. Court that person throughly and make sure you both have really great communication with one another.

I enjoyed listening two you two. You are right on all of your 5 points. My wife and I will celebrate 31 years on November, and she us without a doubt my best friend. We enjoy being together even if we are doing different things. Congrats on being a successful couple, I wish you many more years of happiness together.

You’re right. I’ll have to agree to disagree about living together prior to marriage. Part is due to what God’s word says and the other is that getting to know one another that way is part of the fun.

Gods word doesn’t specifically say to not live together. But it dose say not to put yourself in a position of deliberate temptations that could cause you to stumble. Leaving together for most is temptation but for a few it is not. You need to know yourself and your spiritual and personal convictions to tell if you should or shouldn’t do something aside from the obvious biblical and governance of law.
