I love this, whenever I go to university I feel like I’m overdressing and if everyone else dressed like this I wouldn’t feel like I stand out so much! I’ll still dress how I want though, but it would be cool going here.
I used to go to a strict private school (uniforms, no makeup) and most of the students there would probably judge most of these people. I have an edgy rock n roll style with a feminine/girly twist, and I love fashion, designing, and thrifting, so I can relate to these people. Luckily I’m at University now so people aren’t as judgmental but I’d love to go to a school like this, there are two main universities in my city, the first focused more on academics and the second focused more on art & design & technology (both universities have both but still). I go to the art focused uni (I’m studying journalism) but people still wear hoodies and jeans. I’d love to go to a university like this!

But the problem with that is that even people who can’t afford anything but fast fashion still constantly buy A LOT of clothes from sites like shein when they don’t actually have the NEED to be buying new clothes all the time. Some low-income people buy things from fast fashion sites every now and then and use the pieces they get for years, but so many low-income people still do unnecessary hauls on a regular basis
Fast fashion is also more size inclusive unfortunately🤷🏻♀️I can’t go to a thrift store all the time and find pieces that fit most of the time. Especially as lots of depop peeps and others who will grab most if not all oversized pieces
If you are a NY resident, and you qualify for fafsa, all SUNY school tuition is more or less free. Since FIT is a SUNY, he qualifies for free tuition with the help of financial aid. A lot of states have similar programs to this with their state schools
