- 50 years since 'It's Time'.
Singer Patricia Amphlett, better known as “Little Pattie”, remembers the mood on the night of November 13, 1972 when Labor leader Gough Whitlam launched his “It’s Time” campaign in Blacktown.
In early spring of that year, she had joined the slew of celebrities on stage at the Hordern Pavilion to sing the It’s Time ALP campaign jingle for national TV.
Among them were lead singer Alison McCallum, as well as Bobby Limb, Dawn Lake, Jack Thompson, Jacki Weaver, Barry Crocker, Col Joye, Jimmy Hannan and Judy Stone.

What a song what an anthem what a Prime minister!
And thrown out of office! *laughing*
I just wish he achieved nationalisation of our mining. Just imagine the gaps in education we could have funded a thousand times over had he got his way
When I attended hustings here in the uk, one question I was asked was to name a politician I greatly admired... No hesitation in my answer... Gough Whitlam.
I loved this as a kid
as a 37 year old who wasn't even born before this happened... this is the only little pattie song that i actually know.
It's Time was performed by Alison McCallum. It was written by Paul Jones and r Mike Shirley. Shirley was an advertising writer, Jones the campaign director.
That's more information on the actual story of the song that the clip. which is not a bad clip, but isn't "The story of Gough Whitlam's song"
Lovely.... wet eyes here.
Oh I remember
Best Prime Minister ever !
His policies allowed me (female) to get a tertiary education even though I was from a poor family
