The way you set up and adjusted was spot on Steve 👌 Making 'slip plates' 2 bits of steel with grease between is a simple fix for checking I've never used that type of guage, I have made my own out of wood and string 🤔😂 Great to see it's set up right, top job!
Ya I always wonder if I’ve done it correctly but getting the 4 wheel alignment the lads asked who set the camber? I told them I did and they said it was as good as their machine would calibrate it. I them smartly said , sure they meant you won’t have to adjust so you can knock that off the bill. Sadly it doesn’t work like that 🙈😂
Steve, i also have this gauge, & for camber its good, however the instructions also state a castor measurement is possible by the usual method of a 40degree turning sweep, as per the instructions. However, i believe the POS & NEG read opposite when taking a castor angle.....i.e. i know i have positive castor of 3 degrees but the gauge will tell you its a NEG reading.......give it a go see what you think
I’ve never adjusted castor because on the Vw and audi it’s set and cant be adjusted. The most important thing is to release any pressure in the suspension (ie) roll the car forward and backwards . Bounce the suspension and turn the wheels etc. I’d love a set of wobble plates which allow for movement when your adjusted the wheels. Good luck with your adjustments it’s really a black art form 😊😉
@@stevenharpervw it’s fairly easy to get out if you take your time. You just need to wiggle it! Check out the guy I sent it away to. 1st class service 👌
Adjustment made with wheels off the ground but car driven back and forth to settle suspension and then read with camber gauge to check how correct it was
You need a leveled floor or you’re not getting correct measurements. Also, static toe settings are dependent of camber angles. Adjusting one will change the other. This video shows how to improperly adjust camber.
I’ve heard the Mk1 TT handles better with less than factory camber at the front, if the car has larger swaybars and adjustable rear link arms adjusted with correct rear camber. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀🍀🍀😎
i got tyre dmg inside same cr audi tt..and i see that my camber is set to the other side than u set it in video..im change it like u in vinteo all way to other side and is like press brake and when turns u hear it..i use 5mm spacer..if turn t back to other side is ok..spacer is the problem?u sure that must be set it to this side?
Small tip: if there is not enough room to mount the tool on the brake disk, you can use a 17mm socket on a wheelbolt and mount the tool on that.
Great idea never thought of that. Thanks for sharing
I usually put mines in the center of rim on hub

@@andycharger I’m in Ireland, with brexit is it still possible to send it to him or would there be a load of tax’s included
Hello, I was googling for the table with ride height and camber figures, but I couldn't find it. Would you mind sending it to me?
I can’t remember where I found it. But in my video You can screen shot it
I dind't understand if the adjustement was made with the wheels off the or on the floor. thanks for your reply

Hm do you have a camber gauge ? You might also need to get the tracking reset. Make sure you have the same air pressure in each wheel
