I actually can answer the "design flaw" questions! I adore your fearless approach. I'm actually the one who drafted this shacket pattern for Mood. I've collaborated with Mood on over 300 free patterns and still counting! Here are a few observations that might be helpful: - • The pattern is made for a woven fabric - your fabric is stretchy and bouncy, but you still make it work! I would suggest staystitching the neckline and curved hem edges to keep the shape. - • The front ends of the hem facing are meant to tuck under the button placket, so you will do the hem before you finish the placket. Don't feel bad -- they didn't catch that in the Mood blog post either. ;) If desired, the hem facing can be omitted and you can just do a plain seam. - • I think you were right to skip the French seams -- to bulky! - • I'm kicking myself for not including side-seam pockets, but it should be easy enough to borrow a pocket from another pattern if desired >>> Your final result looks really nice and cozy!"
Great project! I love that you show that not everything you tackle ends up perfect - that you adapt and try new things and are honest about your results! Thank you!! Love thrift hauls!!
I second-guessed sharing a project that didn't quite turn out how I had hoped, but that's life, amiright? I'm still proud of the overall process and how I'm constantly learning!
Great video. To finish the top and bottom of the button placket check out Pattern Scouts video of the making of her shacket. Makes for a nice finished edge on both sides.
trying this pattern and got frustrated by the top bits that don't fit into the collar, doesn't make much sense. in the tutorial page they just leave it raw for some reason

Thanks Mary! It means a lot that you took time to share those kind words ❤️
Thank you so much for making this video, I'm busy making this jacket, I'm a novice, and oh my gosh the instructions on Mood's website are so vague!

I love how it turned out. I can't wait for the shirt and shorts video
Thanks Karen! 😌
The natural lighting in this whole video is so good! Also, love the thrift haul at the end! I'd vote for more in the future!
Thanks for the feedback! Good to know thrift hauls are interesting 😌

what size line key pattern are you using? is it 00-32? And what is your height and weight?
Hey there! I did it in a size 8- I’m not sure what that equates to :)
I’m 5’4” & 145lbs. Hope that helps!

Yes! I found so many problems with the instructions on their page 😞 My shirt really didn’t turn out how I thought it would!
