Therapist here, static stretching pre-training/event will lead to possible strains and deactivation of tissues. I recommend dynamic stretching, not bouncing, before and static after and in mornings.
If anyone is thinking about doing muay tai i wanted to let you know that i was a scwrany kid my whole life until i was ten i joined muay tai and it changed my life and people who say it doesnt work on the streets they arent doing it right.

I’m 65 and have been training for 2 years now in Thailand , of course I’m not going to fight. I enjoy it because it is so difficult in every way, technically and exhausting, I am always learning and improving. I have worked out really hard all my life. Muay Thai is the hardest workout I have ever done.
I always thought the movies like karate kid, Bruce lee, exr. But I’m going to start doing Muay Thai soon. For me it looks like it’s the most effective martial art
*I really want to practice Muay Thai when in a life or death situation, especially during quarantine as some racist ppl will start to randomly attack an Asian person thing that they are Chinese*
i did Taekwondo for a while but stopped a few years ago after getting my black belt, thinking about picking up Muay Thai but im worried my muscle memory from TKD will mess up properly learning muay thai
you could always incorporate some taekwondo to boost your muay thai kicking. i’ve just shifted from TKD as well and my tip is do whatever fits you best - whatever you find effective.
Question for any Muay Thai practitioners. I'm actually into Badminton but I started taking interest in Muay Thai recently and I'm actually considering to take classes just to make my body more fit (I had some experience with MT, I know the basic jabs, hooks, kick, elbows, etc). I'm planning to take only once a week classes. Is this a good idea, or a waste of time and money? And should I exercise or be fit before starting my MT journey? Thank you for this video.
My opinion if you never went to a MT class go for one session try it , it’s not a bad idea to go once per week as long as you are doing to improve your health. With pleasure

I found one gym that teach muay thai in my country but the thing is, in this pandemic we are not allowed to cross areas. And the gym is on another area. I don't find another one in my area😭
I've done karate for a while. But found it really hard to apply because it consists of doing katas and is time consuming. How about muay thai? Is is good?

the main question is: is it suitable - possibile to start muay thai at 37 years old, ex smoker with some weight problems? though my age is it allowed to fight into a match?

A tip i learned after 3 months of doing Muay Thai is to stretch before your class. My calf’s hurt the most during cut kicks because i never stretched
That’s true, stretching before and after the training.
I always warm the muscles then stretched, found my muscles felt funny during training if I stretched and didn't warm up
