Best Doctor Who Cliffhangers: The Second Doctor
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 лис 2024
- I recently saw a video about "Best Doctor Who Cliffhangers" and noted that there was a distressing amount of Classic Who cliffhangers, in fact, I think it only totalled around 3 while the remaining 7 were NuWho related. I am rectifying this grave injustice with a series covering the best and worst Doctor Who Cliffhangers.
If I missed any of your favourites, feel free to let me know; the comments are just there.
Please leave any and all feedback in the comments.

2:53 "NOTHING IN THE WORLD CAN STOP ME NOW!"
BBC: Wanna bet?!
The ending to Enemy of the World is so shockingly good. I was left speechless when I first saw it.
Glad they found it. Pat had too many binned.
If you were living in the 60s and saw this ending, you’d be like “Oh God, how will the team get out of this one?”
Tbh almost every cliffhanger from Fury from the Deep could be on here. It's such an amazing story with so many iconic moments. It's such a shame the whole story's missing.
Someone's been peeking at my favorite 2nd doctor episode
"BATTLE OF THE GIANTS"
Lets hope its going to be found as the two preceeding stories were I dont see why not !!
So many of the sounds from The Invasion have stuck with me since I saw it as a kid. Cybermen coming out of their cocoons, that machine they used to knock people out, the screaming Cyberman is the sewer.
I always remember this Doctor as being an ill fated photographer in The Omen. He had put it all together but he still died.
Pat played a bloody priest. Oh, dear God!
The cybermen endings are all fantastic...but that ending with Salamander being ejected into the vortex is brilliant....
I always loved the way Salamander was dealt with. There's something so cool yet so horrifying about being sucked out into endless time. I feel like that's something new who doesn't seem to do that much anymore :( That being generally horrifying things that serve the plot.
It’s such a horrifically simple defeat for such a memorable villain where what we end up seeing happen leaves a long lasting impact to the implications of said moment. NuWho does tend to lack a lot of these nowadays.
I found that classic who is more unrestrained in it's violence when binge watching the whole show it becomes obvious that for example Sylvester McCoy had more violence than Cristopher Ecclestone.
'Enemy of the World' feels a lot like a rejected 'The Avengers' TV series script, crossed with Philip K. Dick's story 'The Defenders' for added length, so that it's a little hard to watch it with a straight face now.
But yes, compared to a lot of Doctor Who, it's actually quite different. Almost like another TV series altogether.
But what's Doctor Who canon for the second doctor looking just like Salamander, someone who was jettisoned in to the time vortex?
The War Games: Episode 1. Now I didn't see that one coming......

the Daleks chanting, "Daleks conquer and destroy!" line was from the end of Episode 5 of The Power of the Daleks.
Sorry to correct you on it.
@@KubatheChangeling No problem.
I'll bet you that the reveal in the study scene partway through _The Space Pirates_ 5 was originally meant to be a cliffhanger.
My favourite Doctor Who stories of all time. Just Brilliant. Shame so many remain missing.
thanks for a great video, honestly power and evil of the daleks is some of my favourite dalek stories to date, its no wonder I endedup with a 60s era dalek of my own lol
I love how that beat continues into the theme at 11:00! Sound's almost like a remix!
I can remember watching The Macra Terror,,sad it no longer exists!
There is an animated re-creation which is pretty good, and can be watched in black and white if you swing that way. ;-)
Compare the 'Tomb of the Cybermen' cliffhanger to the end of Star Trek Next Gen 'Best of Both Worlds Pt.1', almost exactly the same words are spoken by Locutus of Borg.
The Moonbase Part 2 cliff-hanger is the best. 2's face as he works out where the Cyberman is is scarier than the actual Cyberman itself.
If you play at 2x speed during the first Invasion bit you get some good tunes
😂😂😂😂
Hey Dan, I know you used to use TimeScales a lot for your Doctor Who reviews (its how I became aware of you) and I know Kamelion seemingly kicked you off the site, but you may be able to get back on there now.
I'm not sure, but it I think the whole thing might be under new management (the contact email has changed, Kamelion's account has been removed and its some guy called Corey seemingly running things now). Also your reviews appear to have resurfaced, just that it says your account is blocked. Not sure if you were aware or not.
I’m aware Cam, I’ve been contacted by them and frankly is very dubious given the back and forth hasn’t changed. I’m almost certain it’s just Kamelion under a new name trying to distance himself from said name. I highly doubt I’ll be able to get my account restored given how suspect it’s all is.
@@DanTheMan2150AD Damn. Its such a shame not seeing your reviews anymore, really enjoyed reading them. But I totally understand the suspicion.
@@CamPalinSmith I’m not really wanting to take the risk and get it back but at the same time shit like this needs to be curbed.
@@DanTheMan2150AD Completely agree.
@@CamPalinSmith I’ve got so much dirt on them since my ban but people on the site need to speak up about this shit
I love every chilfhage from every second doctor story and Patrick Troughton is amazing In every doctor who story he is in and he does a really great profamce as the second Doctor in every second doctor story and Frazer Hines does a really good profamce as jamie in every second doctor story he is in and that is why Patrick Troughton is my four favourite doctor who
Two superb Seeds of Death cliffhangers missing - a seed pod arrives at TMat control Brent proclaims 'Its alive' as he reaches out for it ....and Pat Troughton being enveloped in the foam from the seed pods - 'If you don't let me in !'
what about the dalek lifiting it's eyestalk in power of the daleks
I thought the Origin of Darleks Davros in particular was stroke of Genius. I always enjoyed seeing Davoros returned in one form or another.
Is it my imagination or has episode 5 of 'The Power of the Daleks' been recovered? Going by the cliffhangers either side.
It’s your imagination.
@@DanTheMan2150AD That's unfortunate.
No, it’s just that that episode’s cliffhanger is among the segments that survive through use in other programmes.
@@DrWhoFanJ Not only that episode's cliffhanger, but the episode before it.
@@reubenmanzo2054 They’re both among said clips.

I am Sorry, but i couldn't see what so menacing about a rolling Salt pepper shakers. How to escape Darleks? Just run up flight of steps🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never been true. Also, don't underestimate omnicidal Nazi technocrats in their own individual panzer tanks.
Daleks have been suffering from 'villain decay' for decades. They are not stupid, they are not unable to fly through buildings like cannonballs, and:
stairs are meaningless to them, as they travel through time, fly, and destroy whole planets if they pose the slightest threat.
