    So I'm still abit confused about sniping belom 500m is fine but going above 500 starting to get confusing the calculator is not accurate, its difficult to judge the wind speed at the next 100 meters.

    • @reynaldiwidjaja277
      @reynaldiwidjaja277 3 роки тому +1

      ah so you got to turn into the wind to find out the true wind speed.

    • @BobPrivacy

      @@reynaldiwidjaja277 Yes you have to, because there is a windmill in this device like in the real one.

      You don't necessarily have to because it's gauging wind from your position, not the wind speed that's 1600+ meters. You have to look at the mirage for such a reading. However, no game will give you a true sniper perspective.

      The wind direction is read by where is comes from not where it goes. so if the arrow was pointing to the left it would be 3 o'clock

    3mins to shoot
    Damn , what happend if the target was moving?

    • @BobPrivacy
      @BobPrivacy  10 місяців тому +1

      A rhetorical question for sure. But I will try to answer it anyway: You would include the movement speed into the calculation, hope that the movement is consistent, not changing it's angle and hope that it doesn't take a path that causes the wind to be influenced elsewhere. People don't seem to realize that the measured wind is only a snapshot at the side of the measuring point, but at any point where the projectile passes different conditions can prevail. However, there is a reason why it is a training target and not a simulated soft target. Again, the video is about showing how the process basically works, not about being effective.

    So do you have to face the direction of the wind to get the correct wind speed? Also, are the headwind and crosswind values used at all?

    • @BobPrivacy
      @BobPrivacy  5 років тому +10

      Yes you have to, because there is a windmill in this device. You only use "wind speed" in this situation. The headwind/crosswind is calculated with the heading in the device itself and is not measured.

    • @BobPrivacy
      @BobPrivacy  5 років тому +10

      It is showing the "felt" wind direction and strength but not accurate. It is a kind of "skin-simulator".

      @@smportis about 60-70's i watched a mil. training film for snipers in russia.
      Distance: russians have very intuitive scope measure distance (in scope itself by avg human size), but max range is >1200km and they are inaccurate, with mildot is harder to calculate (and remember) but max range with mildot is up to 1800-2000km and super accurate.
      Calculations: There is phenomen (if u has an rifle) called spin drift/gyroscopic drift in a short: bullet is spins, so it will go to right, more distance = more corrections + calculations to the left.
      Snipers measure a distance to specifical object and write them to paper, it's easier to calculate and get calculations on elevation (elevation actually will kill ur accuracy if u don't calculate correlation for it)
