    Not even an hour in, and this Stan guy is impressive: a mix of life wisdom, business philosophy, and lifting.
    Seriously great podcast.

    Awesome to see Dave Ricks still killing it. I was stationed with him at MCAS Iwakuni Japan back in 94-96. Awesome presence in the gym and he really helped me clean up my squat and deadlift form. I still have his program that he gave me at the gym one day. Pulled my first 405 deadlift using it.

    Just wanted to let you know the audio in the GRIND ads doesn't seem balanced ideally. The music overpowers the voice so I can turn it down to where I don't hear the voice but the music is still clear.

    • @TheShivedj
      @TheShivedj 7 років тому +2

      I agree, the voices during the podcast need to be turned up. I have my volume turned up too high just to barely hear them.

    • @wilaustu
      @wilaustu 7 років тому +2

      I think that's a separate issue. I heard their conversations in the podcast just fine. I'm just saying the ads don't seem mixed very well.

    I don't agree with Stan Efferding's stance on red meat. Everything else he says is pure gold. Time and time again I get amazed when listening him. I learn something even, if its the little things.

    • @ryanturner8577
      @ryanturner8577 7 років тому

      Jake H. In what aspect? In terms of strength, red meat is superior. It naturally contains creatine as well as tons of vitamins and minerals. That is what he was saying. And it is true. As healthy as white meats? Maybe not.

    • @Mylada
      @Mylada 7 років тому

      Ryan Turner There isn't any proof that saturated fat and cholesterol help with serum T. There is only like 3 grams of creatine on 1 kg of red meat, which is very little and the heme iron causes colorectal cancer. I would rather get my calories from safer sources.

    It's sad that a video like this only gets 24,000 views in 5 days, while videos from Jason Blaha can reach over 15,000 views in 4 days. I guess there's just not enough hyped up drama in this video to garner more views. Sad, just sad.

    • @zombiedrumma
      @zombiedrumma 7 років тому +1

      The most important thing to remember about Blaha videos is that the majority of the views are from people who watch his videos purely to troll in the comments section.

    I love Stan, but the stuff about horizontal and vertical dieting is a hole lotta broooo science. Let's ask the renaissance guys what they think of these dietary concepts.

  • @StrongButAwkward
    @StrongButAwkward 7 років тому

    When you're like me and your sleep and diet aren't the best because you're working full time, going to grad school full time, have a wife in her third trimester and you still manage to have a series of really productive meso cycles, it just makes you that much hungrier for what you can do after the semester ends and 8 hour sleep nights are no longer a strange fantasy, you actually have time to cook food and you can stop drinking roughly double your normal caffeine intake just to get through your days.
    On the note of the hard workers with discipline and good planning working next to those who are just more gifted and end up achieving more.... It made me think of a certain dynamic between two characters, and I'm showing my nerd here, but every gifted 'Hatake Kakashi' level person always benefits from having a 'genius of hard work' sort of 'Might Gai' rival or partner to push them and ensure they never become complacent in their natural ease at something.

    • @Medreg1983
      @Medreg1983 7 років тому +2

      Nate
      slow clap. well done you.
      that's nothing special. this is what the majority of people have to live with.

    • @StrongButAwkward
      @StrongButAwkward 7 років тому

      The majority of people are in a graduate university program while also working full time in the field of their undergraduate program? Cause last I heard only 10-12% of the US population even has a graduate degree period.
      You should go tell someone this because people still believe the silly statistics about the population's education level from disreputable sources such as the government census:
      www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/publications/2016/demo/p20-578.pdf
      Perhaps I succeed because I feel good from lifting weights, not being an ass on the internet.

      Nate take the ego a few notches down

    • @StrongButAwkward
      @StrongButAwkward 7 років тому

      It's not ego, it's the reality of the situation. People who are getting by by working really hard to get where they want to be in life just don't suffer people's jealous bullshit pulled from their ass on the internet very well.
