    One thing to be noted from this is that Chris Hardwick did not make a public thing out of it when she cheated on him. He broke up with her and then he never spoke to her again. Everyone I've ever talked to that has had any sort of interaction with him says he is one of the nicest people alive. I hope they start pressing charged against people who do stuff like this.

      Exactly. The accusations don't fit in with any of the other aspects of his character, including those reported by other exes. It would be highly unlikely for this one relationship to be the only time he was abusive if he really had abusive tendencies.
      It just doesn't fit.
      Add in the fact that she lied multiple times about the situation and her story starts to seem more like a fever dream reimagination of the actual events.

      Joe was speaking retardedly when it comes to eyewitness testimony. It is one of the most reliable aspects of cumulative cases. Eyewitnesses can be tested to high degrees of scrutiny, and if found wanting, can be categorically or summarily dismissed. If not, we could not know what to accept or reject to even call eyewitness testimony faulty. It's a patently fallacious remark.
      That said... I side with Hardwick, and against the Mee Too Movement.

    I just think that everyone is so quick to side with the accuser and immediate throw the accused under the bus (not just in this situation but in pretty much everything) and we can't even give the accused reasonable doubt. I always say to people: Wait until the whole story comes out. Don't make a quick judgment on one or two articles cause it normally bites you on the ass and in this case, It did for many people.
    In cases like this, If someone is abusive it normally bleeds into their social and professional life. Someone else would have come out with a story of bad behaviour, harassment or something of that nature. In this case, There's nothing. Nothing came out about Chris. In fact, You really had the opposite. You had a lot of people supporting Chris and saying how great of a guy he was.

      @CorbCorbin 6 років тому +2

      It's not fascinating, it's slander, from a woman who tried to hurt an ex, through the only avenue she thought left to her.
      How many women have you known make an ex out to be a monster, then will be back living with the man within weeks?
      She had too many lies, and inconsistencies, which all shined through, once he gave his side, with evidence. She had no evidence, and I didn't even read of many people backing her claims.
      This needs to be a more easily, chargeable offense, or it will keep happening.

    • @darkovilos
      @darkovilos 6 років тому +2

      CorbCorbin When I said its fascinating what I meant is I never consider thinking what kind of perception of reality or how does each indiviual person sees and interpret things.
      I'm not defending that Chloe girl, my initial reaction when I heard about this accusation is "That is one crazy ex trying to ruin an ex because that ex is doing great compare to her.". Like everyone on both sides weather you don't believe it or you hate the guts of Chris after hearing it, I jump to conclusion and basically judge a person I didn't even know.
      It's clearly a "Boy who cried wolf" kind of situation no doubt but who knows what kind reality is she living.

After months of going to court found out she lied about the whole thing. Something about the time line didn't add up, so he was Acquitted but that doesn't make the news. My understanding is that the woman wrote a book and included accusations about a horrible boyfriend. Someone on their own investigated and concluded it was Hardwick. So without any true official investigation or findings from real law enforcement, AMC immediately suspended him. This uprooted his life, career, and embarrassed him in public. What "investigating" did AMC do? Was it their place to do so? What were the results? What are they doing to fix Hardwick's life?

    There is an episode of Hardwick podcast where he's interviewing his dad, and they talk about how much they both love Chloe, and its interesting to see who stood by him during the whole situation. His two fellow nerdist hosts, Matt and Jonah, who were on many shows even as they got more busy have NEVER been on a show since.

    It was not just friends and colleagues that defended Chris Hardwick, but past girlfriends too. What makes these accusations come into question is that all this went through social media and let the court of public opinion condemn Chris.

      Not entirely true.

    What ever happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'

    • @perarheim1255
      @perarheim1255 5 років тому

      As a person who distrusts the allegation against Hardwick based on case by case intuition etc - I say the #1 reason you don't apply 'innocent until proven guilty' to the weirdo offering candy to your kids is because you understand that individual judgement has a vital role in society and in your life - even in the absence of clear cut proof. It doesn't mean you throw him down a ravine, but you don't grant him the same trust and offers as you do other neighbors.
      #2 reason: 'innocent until proven guilty' is a saying that specifically depicts the onus on the prosecution side in legal court to produce evidence beyond reasonable doubt, before convicting somebody by law to get an official sentence by the state including imprisonment. The standard goes back to the Magna Carta, and is a vital part of due process of law. It doesn't cover employment tenure or any mandate of public trust in the face of unsettled allegations.
      OJ Simpson is 'innocent' of murder in the legalistic sense of the word that you raise. Whether you let him marry your daughter is a different matter. That's what happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'. You apply it in court where it belongs, and you allow for value judgment and common sense to inform opinions and choices outside court.

    There needs to be protection for a man. Every girl who has an ex claims the man was something. She almost ruined his life over a lie. Men need to be able to sue a woman over this. Women have all the court support in the us. Equal rights right? Get divorced even if she CHEATS or files for it. She gets half and the kids and support. Lol yeah ok. Why are men saying nah to marriage I wonder
