@Kyle Haefele I didn't say he's Yonko level but there's no reason to think he isn't, we simply don't know enough yet. But if someone like Garp can fight Roger and Whitebeard equally, I suspect his son is also powerful.

Oda really likes to deconstruct the myth behind his villains. 1. Enel is God, defeat by a commoner. 2. No one ever to Enies Lobby and get out. The SH did it. 3. Rob Lucci cannot lose, lost to Luffy. 4. No one ever went in/out Impel Down, Luffy did. 5. Katakuri's back never touched the ground, fell on its back and the end (we learn it was false to begin with) Now, Kaido always wins 1 vs 1, always bet on him...my guess is he will lose a 1 vs 1 some way. Or we will learn that assessment was incorrect in the 1st place.

Running away to rest, having separate characters add in attacks, exploiting weaknesses, taking hostages, deceit. All of this happens in a battle. The line of what a "1v1" is blurry. It always will be. Let me throw in some examples Was Akainu vs Whitebeard 1v1? Both sides got help. Do you consider it a 1v1? Where is the line? Was Luffy vs Doffy a 1v1? Both sides have had stamina weakened, and damage inflicted by outside sources. Was Luffy vs Katakuri a 1v1? Brulee was around. Flampe was around. But for the rest of it, it was 1v1. Again, where is the line? What about Luffy vs Arlong? Would Luffy have won without outside help? No. But who was the one who did the most work? Luffy. Is this then considered a 1v1? While one side may have more or less advantages, at the end of the day (story) the true winners are the ones who are still standing at the end of it all. I don't think Luffy will "blueno 1v1 Kaido". I think in the final battle with Kaido, other supernovas will provide outside assistance to Luffy, and in the same, Kaido's commanders, numbers and fodder will also provide assistance to Kaido. But at the end of the day, Luffy will have contributed the most, and will be left standing. I will consider this a 1v1, unless the other supernova/characters are able to provide enough "help" that I would say without question "Luffy wouldn't of won without the added support" Regardless if Luffy receives substantial support, winning 1v1 is a pointless feat in the grand scheme. These are pirate battles, and your friends/allies are considered your own strength. That's why Whitebeard was considered so powerful. So there’s a story in Chinese mythotolgy about the king and his four animals. Blue pheasant , red dog , yellow monkey , and the white dragon. One day the “white dragon” reazlied how evil the king was and decided to rebel. Sounds familiar ??? But he let the others animals know before he rebelled. The yellow monkey didn’t understand anything , the red dog was simply to loyal to the king, and the blue pheasant was to lazy to do anything.so the animals the colors and the personalities described the three admirals perfectly and this is where oda got his idea. Dragon was probably in the Navy at one point in time, especially with Garp being his father. I believe Akainu and Dragon are the same age, so while in the military Dragon could’ve rose through the rank faster and Akainu become jealous of this. This jealousy could be what leads Akainu’s mentality on doing whatever is necessary to advance the Navy’s domination on the world. Dragon could have witness Akainu killing an innocent one to many times and he protest his actions, so it makes him leave to form a revolution army.
No one really mentions it but Dragon's fruit is a direct counter to Akainu's. Strong wind will always win against Magma. While Sabo's fruit is perfect for teaming with wind as it amplifies fire. Just oda
I think Dragon leaving the navy and seeking to destroy the WG just because of Akainu is kinda a stretch, I think that’s partial but I think he found something about the WG that made him want to destroy it. Maybe he saw all the corrupt and the bad things the WG has done.

Dragon is in direct opposition to the government. Even if he's weaker than Roger was (which I think he is), they would consider him much more of a threat (hence why I think he'll have a way bigger bounty).

When we saw Fujitora during the chapter where Rocks was introduced he had some bandages on him. This implies that even with Ryokugyu, Sabo and the other commanders who were powerful enough to land at least a couple of decent hits on him. EDIT: This comment wasn't meant to account for the Admirals' strength or agency (or lack thereof due to the environment they were fighting in). It was simply meant to point out that Sabo (with help) is implied to be strong enough to actually hurt an Admiral.

Because we've seen oda introduce character like " if you think he is strong then look at this guy over here " after a luffy ( let's not talk about luffy here ) we got zoro we think as strongest one then, we got the hyped....!! and again oda introduced more stronger guy dracule mihawk , when oda introduced shichibukai dracule mihawk ( strongest swordsmen in the world ) we got the more stronger character or rank Navy Admiral ( Aokiji , navy power house ) and similar but not strong as admiral oda introduce CP-9 . Fact of the matter is Doffy showed what he could do first and went down first. Boa has a damn good fruit and monstrous strength. If you want to take the movie into account I can’t see Doffy kicking the shit out of mechanized bullet the way Boa did. She still has an air of mystery about her and Oda could very well make her stronger if he wants, let’s just wait and see

Unlike Strong World and Shiki, we had canon information to compare canon Luff's strength and Strong World Strength. Because we have never seen Hancock go all out in canon. Oda would have to decide just how powerful Hancock can be to give realistic expectations of her abilities. Now, not only does she have all 3 types of basic Haki. But she also has advanced Haki as well. This is guaranteed since her sisters have it too. Advanced Haki + Busted DF = OP. Plus as the story goes on, the more powerful characters are. Hyped by Sengoku out of everyone, she is far above what you think.
Facts I feel like dragon is preparing for the strongest enemy ever in Imu. Never understood how he's the most dangerous criminal ever but he's weaker than a yonko. So why isn't imu worried about Kaido who can't die and wants to destroy the world. Blackbeard has 2 devil fruits and imu isn't saying he's the most dangerous. Rayleigh has the most dangerous Intel in the verse so dragon just knowing secrets doesn't justify him being the most dangerous to the government
Anthony Perry Although what you’re saying has some validity to it, One Piece has made it clear(especially recently) that bounty isn’t always directly related to strength. Buggy is a great example of that. Another good example is what Big News Morgan did for Luffy’s bounty.

I thought shanks had the highest bounty of the yonko and was the strongest, but after 957 it made since to me the kaido and big mom are the strongest yonkos, while Blackbeard and shanks are new so their on the lower end. And this is me accepting your assumption that a Yonko can beat two admirals. He can definitely beat one but he's not taking two out.
He didn't necessarily cause the lightning bolt. As much as it's a pretty ridiculous coincidence for lightning to hit exactly then and there, it'd also be super epic for Luffy to be saved by mother nature itself, so I doubt Oda would feel any restrictions with artificially creating such a coincidence. But yeah, the presence of dragon at the time and his clear intention to help Luffy implies he also made the lightning bolt. In additon: He's got a thunderbird tattoo, and his lack of transformation or sending wind directly out of his body makes his powers seem more like a paramecia fruit, and it's largely only logias that get to control a single element, so chances are there's more to the power than just wind, meaning full weather control would fit perfectly.
I honestly don't see any reason why Dragon wouldn't be as strong as any Yonko or even a bit stronger given his role in the story, his hype, and his family history. Prime Garp was Pirate King tier. I'd have no problem with Dragon being in that tier. Anything less would kind of be a disappointment given his father past and his son's endgame.

Considering the Monkey D. Bloodline is pretty much one of the strongest bloodlines in the verse, I'd say its safe to assume Dragon should easily be Yonko level. I mean Garp in his prime could solo any Yonko (obviously WB vs Garp would be on a different scale)

The flaw of that logic is that "Yonko Level" is not directly above 1st commander level. The yonko are so freakishly powerful they might as well be 3 or 4 times as strong as any first commander. Kaido one-shotting Luffy (who could be considered around 1st commander level) is proof of this. Basically Dragon doesn't have to be "at least as strong" as a Yonko. Tbh he's most likely a lot weaker. Still anywhere between Yonko level and 1st commander level.
But the 1st commander level is also very loose. The way that shanks crew is setup makes it seem like Benn Beckman is much closer to Shanks in terms of power than Katakuri is to Big Mom or Marco is to Whitebeard. Also I think most people use katakuri as the main example of a first commander when we don't know the strength of any of the other 1st commanders

How do you feel about this order of power scaling in terms of the top tiers, where Luffy is about a 1st Yonko Commander level and Dragon (due to context clues within One Piece) should be on par with a Fleet Admiral? Yonko, Fleet Admiral, Admiral, 1st Yonko Commander, 2nd Yonko Commander, 3rd Yonko Commander.

I'd argue that sabo developed more than ace because ace had an extremely powerful logia devil fruit, and he didn't need to practice a lot or train his haki while sabo managed to develop without the devil fruit and now he has a massive power boost because of it.
I think Dragon has a "weather paramecia" which to me is way stronger than wind logia. He would have the same wind powers, and lightning, and hail, and rain, and maybe even burning sun. IMO that would actually be more powerful than the supposed "strongest" paramecia of seaquakes.

Excellent analytic video! However, I beg to differ with regard to Dragon's power. I don't think he has a wind logia power. That wouldn't explain the whole dragon theme in his crew (the ship design, Sabo using attacks named after dragon attributes, etc.). Yet, I do agree that he has power that is somehow related to wind. So here is my guess: He ate a dragon devil fruit just like Kaido. However, it's an ancient type of dragon who had a particular wind power. Instead of emitting fire from its mouth, this dragon emits wind from its mouth. Also, it would explain the tattoos on both Kaido and Dragon's bodies. Kaido has it on his arm and Dragon has it on his face.

Portrayal wise Dragon is Yonko level or even above. Akainu himself wanted to get the son of Roger and Dragon more than anyone else during Marineford. Not to mention lineage wise he's the son of Garp and father of Luffy as well as having the Will of D. I imagine he has insane Haki also and take I to consideration he might have a wind wind devil fruit he's going to be OP. I think Dragon was a marine officer before he became a revolutionary. I think he witnessed the shady dealings of the world government and decided to desert the marine corps. He probably was "friends" with Akainu and were rivals since they were fresh recruits... That's why eventually Dragon will fight Akainu, not Luffy. He is definetelly on Akainu's level if not stronger.

@@arleo09 People need to reconsider what a "1v1" looks like. There won't be many future battles in One Piece where there will be no outside forces. Pirates don't fight fair. Running away to rest, having separate characters add in attacks, exploiting weaknesses, taking hostages, deceit. All of this happens in a battle. The line of what a "1v1" is blurry. It always will be.
Let me throw in some examples
Was Akainu vs Whitebeard 1v1? Both sides got help. Do you consider it a 1v1? Where is the line?
Was Luffy vs Doffy a 1v1? Both sides have had stamina weakened, and damage inflicted by outside sources.
Was Luffy vs Katakuri a 1v1? Brulee was around. Flampe was around. But for the rest of it, it was 1v1. Again, where is the line?
What about Luffy vs Arlong? Would Luffy have won without outside help? No. But who was the one who did the most work? Luffy. Is this then considered a 1v1?
While one side may have more or less advantages, at the end of the day (story) the true winners are the ones who are still standing at the end of it all.
I don't think Luffy will "blueno 1v1 Kaido". I think in the final battle with Kaido, other supernovas will provide outside assistance to Luffy, and in the same, Kaido's commanders, numbers and fodder will also provide assistance to Kaido. But at the end of the day, Luffy will have contributed the most, and will be left standing. I will consider this a 1v1, unless the other supernova/characters are able to provide enough "help" that I would say without question "Luffy wouldn't of won without the added support"
Regardless if Luffy receives substantial support, winning 1v1 is a pointless feat in the grand scheme. These are pirate battles, and your friends/allies are considered your own strength. That's why Whitebeard was considered so powerful. Not only did he have unrivaled individual strength, he also had the biggest alliance we have seen from any pirate crew.
In Naruto, Madara was hyped up for years and did not disappoint. I can see this being the case with Dragon

I believe Akainu and Dragon are the same age, so while in the military Dragon could’ve rose through the rank faster and Akainu become jealous of this. This jealousy could be what leads Akainu’s mentality on doing whatever is necessary to advance the Navy’s domination on the world. Dragon could have witness Akainu killing an innocent one to many times and he protest his actions, so it makes him leave to form a revolution army.

When we saw Fujitora during the chapter where Rocks was introduced he had some bandages on him. This implies that even with Ryokugyu, Sabo and the other commanders who were powerful enough to land at least a couple of decent hits on him.
EDIT: This comment wasn't meant to account for the Admirals' strength or agency (or lack thereof due to the environment they were fighting in). It was simply meant to point out that Sabo (with help) is implied to be strong enough to actually hurt an Admiral.

Anthony Perry Although what you’re saying has some validity to it, One Piece has made it clear(especially recently) that bounty isn’t always directly related to strength. Buggy is a great example of that. Another good example is what Big News Morgan did for Luffy’s bounty.

As much as it's a pretty ridiculous coincidence for lightning to hit exactly then and there, it'd also be super epic for Luffy to be saved by mother nature itself, so I doubt Oda would feel any restrictions with artificially creating such a coincidence. But yeah, the presence of dragon at the time and his clear intention to help Luffy implies he also made the lightning bolt.
In additon: He's got a thunderbird tattoo, and his lack of transformation or sending wind directly out of his body makes his powers seem more like a paramecia fruit, and it's largely only logias that get to control a single element, so chances are there's more to the power than just wind, meaning full weather control would fit perfectly.

I honestly don't see any reason why Dragon wouldn't be as strong as any Yonko or even a bit stronger given his role in the story, his hype, and his family history. Prime Garp was Pirate King tier. I'd have no problem with Dragon being in that tier. Anything less would kind of be a disappointment given his father past and his son's endgame.

The flaw of that logic is that "Yonko Level" is not directly above 1st commander level. The yonko are so freakishly powerful they might as well be 3 or 4 times as strong as any first commander.
Kaido one-shotting Luffy (who could be considered around 1st commander level) is proof of this.
Basically Dragon doesn't have to be "at least as strong" as a Yonko. Tbh he's most likely a lot weaker. Still anywhere between Yonko level and 1st commander level.
But the 1st commander level is also very loose. The way that shanks crew is setup makes it seem like Benn Beckman is much closer to Shanks in terms of power than Katakuri is to Big Mom or Marco is to Whitebeard. Also I think most people use katakuri as the main example of a first commander when we don't know the strength of any of the other 1st commanders

How do you feel about this order of power scaling in terms of the top tiers, where Luffy is about a 1st Yonko Commander level and Dragon (due to context clues within One Piece) should be on par with a Fleet Admiral? Yonko, Fleet Admiral, Admiral, 1st Yonko Commander, 2nd Yonko Commander, 3rd Yonko Commander.

I'd argue that sabo developed more than ace because ace had an extremely powerful logia devil fruit, and he didn't need to practice a lot or train his haki while sabo managed to develop without the devil fruit and now he has a massive power boost because of it.
I think Dragon has a "weather paramecia" which to me is way stronger than wind logia. He would have the same wind powers, and lightning, and hail, and rain, and maybe even burning sun. IMO that would actually be more powerful than the supposed "strongest" paramecia of seaquakes.

I realise now Garp's attack is also able to hit anything, just like that advanced haki attack. We haven't seen anyone block Garps attacks. Like Luffy always said, Garp's attack always hurt the most.

Excellent analytic video! However, I beg to differ with regard to Dragon's power. I don't think he has a wind logia power. That wouldn't explain the whole dragon theme in his crew (the ship design, Sabo using attacks named after dragon attributes, etc.). Yet, I do agree that he has power that is somehow related to wind. So here is my guess: He ate a dragon devil fruit just like Kaido. However, it's an ancient type of dragon who had a particular wind power. Instead of emitting fire from its mouth, this dragon emits wind from its mouth. Also, it would explain the tattoos on both Kaido and Dragon's bodies. Kaido has it on his arm and Dragon has it on his face.

@@kisuke7764 I think most people view sabo as 1st commander level he is second in command of the revs and most likely has the advanced armament haki that luffy was learning(I think that all first commanders can probably use advanced haki of at least one type) when he destroyed the colleseum he went head to head with Fuji although neither were really trying and he dealt with burgess easily who is somewhere near if not on commander level

Portrayal wise Dragon is Yonko level or even above. Akainu himself wanted to get the son of Roger and Dragon more than anyone else during Marineford.

I think Dragon was a marine officer before he became a revolutionary. I think he witnessed the shady dealings of the world government and decided to desert the marine corps. He probably was "friends" with Akainu and were rivals since they were fresh recruits... That's why eventually Dragon will fight Akainu, not Luffy. He is definetelly on Akainu's level if not stronger.
