@@fullmoon5799I agree. I think she loves Missy but Sheldon is her favorite. She seems to have a stronger bond with him than Missy. She's not very close to Georgie. In one episode Dale hardly knew who Georgie was because Meemaw didn't tell him about him, but he knew all about Sheldon without even having met him because she told him a lot about him. If I had to choose who was his least favorite, it would be Georgie.

My mom always saved money on things and saved up the money. When the family really needed it she would take out her stash. If she had told my dad what was going on he would have spent the money. This way she and all of us had protection.

You know, meemaw isn't very kind or loving to her daughter. She treats her more like someone she has to put up with bc she didnt marry well and had 3 kids rather than someone she values for giving her a life that would ease the empty nest era and w whom she could share her life.

George has a right to be angry because Mary saved up her money secretly but George on the other hand pays the bills and all the money he has is considered everybody’s money while Mary’s isn’t and then she gets mad about him not supporting her being independent
Actually, I kinda understand her. Women are/were often expected to stop working in order to raise the kid, and despite all the energy it demands, they can't make money out of it. So saving money "just in case" is very much understandable. More women than you think do or did this in case their husbands leaves or becomes violent so they can survive without them... some abusive men uses the "you don't have a job, you have no money" lines to prevent their wives running away from them.

@@theelectricprince8231 difference is she didn't do it incase of goerge turned violent or such, she did it cause its "her" money... she tried to make it about her being independent when it's obvious he was upset with the "when it comes to what I make its our money but when it's yours it's your money?" When it comes to that its a smack in the face and it's unfair, when your married its "what mine is yours and what's yours is mine" its a our money senerio.
I've seen this happen in real life and every time I was like "wtf is that B.S.?" Now what you said is valid and anyone should have some money on the side if their in that situation. BUT MARY WAS NOT so I believe George was in his right to be annoyed. I don't blame buying some extra beer for himself, the man is barely appreciated (besides a few times with sheldon telling him he was a role model... that something any good father would love to hear) so dude wanting a extra beer after work... let him.

Assuming that the Young Sheldon "timeline" doesn't eventually diverge from the TBBT timeline, it's possible the reason George Jr. never paid his father is because George Sr. was already dead. George Jr. turned 19 in 1994, the same year that George Sr. dies.
The way older Sheldon narrates it though implies Georgie marries before George dies, otherwise he’d have probably mentioned how George got out of the bet.

I notice it is always Mary who leaves the house when she and George have a tiff. Perhaps that is why she is so adamant about not moving when George got a better job offer in another town. She wouldn't have her mommy to run to. At this point in the series, Mary hadn't started working so the money she had hidden away wasn't really "her" money but rather family money. The amount needed for a computer back then would have gone a long way towards paying family bills.

Mary does the whole works in that house including cleaning, cooking, washing etc. and I have never seen none of her children nor her husband helping her in that. I am sure that if Mary were paid for such work elsewhere, she could potentially earn more than George.

1:55 HUGE writing error. This conversation should be completely flipped. As it is, it creates quite a big inconsistency in both characters. Missy, being the more emotionally intelligent child, should be able to catch onto the subtext of the situation as she's been proven to be practically gifted at exactly that. Sheldon, on the other hand, often misses sarcasm and social cues.

But what I’m saying is, even if I stayed over in my parents’ house, I would either take the couch out the floor. I wouldn’t sleep in the same bed as them, because I feel it’s a little weird.
