He got Mary pregnant with Georgie, but he stuck by her throughout all of it, especially after the birth of twins Missy and Sheldon. Throughout the many highs and many lows, George Sr. was there. We finally got to know the mystery of the man who was Sheldon Cooper's father and I liked him. I actually believe he was a better parent than Mary Cooper, who consistently favored and babied Sheldon, ignoring Missy and Georgie's needs unless she absolutely had to. As to why it's sad now, that we start crying at his funeral? It's because while we know when he died, we didn't have all the details. George Sr. was a great man, loved by all who knew him. Even Sheldon, the perfectionist he is, wishes he could go back, say and handle things differently. He loved his father, and he will miss him forever. It's sad when a good man and father like George Sr. dies, regardless if we knew it was going to happen or not. 😢

Looking at the early series after seeing the new episodes really hit me, how the cast has grown so much. I was surprised to see how young the children were. But it’s amazing how the series lasted long with the same actors, it makes it feel so natural.
