Here's my quick review of the recent Cine Asia UK release of Felix Chong's EPIC The Goldfinger,
starring Tony Leung and Andy Lau, reuniting the three together once again for the first time since Infernal Affairs.
This is big budget, HK Cinema at it's finest, beautifully directed, shot and acted with some of the best VFX i've seen in a HK production to date, though in most instances, you wouldn't know it was there!
the work that has gone into recreating late 70's/80's era HK is just incredible.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!

When i went to see this at cinema here in HK, in the same period came out also “I did it my way”. Im glad we chose to see this one with wife.. I went to one of my favorite cinemas, the last standing old school layout, with giant screen; the Grand Ocean in TST (by Golden Harvest).
Beautifully put together. Much better than our effort! Respect the Dragon people, he really cares for the cinema we all love ❤

It's too bad neither the UK and HK BluRay release made any attempt to include the Dolby Atmos sound mix.

Thank you mate! That’s cool, we all resonate with different films at different times in different ways! I think Goldfinger stuck a chord with me as I saw it not long after seeing Tony Leung in Where the Wind Blows, which I did enjoy but found this a more satisfying and engaging watch. I need to revisit WTWB again sometime though, I think it’ll fare better in a second viewing.
Have you watched any of the Face Off (Vietnamese) franchise? Part 7 is showing at the cinema this weekend, I almost booked to see it after doing the Indiana Jones trilogy at BFI IMAX in London before thinking I probably won’t fully understand what’s going on having not seen any of the earlier movies.
I’ve not seen any of them mate! It’s Very difficult to find Vietnamese cinema up here.
@@TheFanaticalDragon - I was very surprised that Cineworld, Leicester Square London programmed it into Superscreen (20.5m x 11m) with 4K projection and Dolby Atmos. Seats are selling fast. Chinatown is situated directly behind them so there is plenty of interest in the area.
