I feel the apple ad has more to it than what meets the eye, people forget so often how much work has been poured into all of those items, and how over time their creations just get considered typical and part of people's daily life. For example, at 0:29, MOST people probably don't know who that is, but step into a time machine and go back 150 years and talk to someone that had enough money to afford some of the things found in this video (i mean the items that where around 150 years ago) and ask them who that is, and they probably could tell you immediately who the person was. So, what I'm trying to get at is, it's an homage to all the wonderful works that has been done and then put inside the tablet, while also being a commentary on how we just take things that where such a big thing when they came out (like digital photography), and just effortlessly put them into such a slim lightweight device, that is going to probably go to some spoiled 5 year old to watch skibidi toilet.

The ad seems to be using practical effects, which means that they have collected these expensive, sentimental, or otherwise valuable items and really crushed them to a state of irreparability. It's debatable to me whether this was practical effects or CGI - it would seem to be a mix of both in my eyes. The point of contention is over the destruction of valuable items that were in perfectly good condition. It may be their right to destroy items that they purchased, but the popular sentiment seems to be that purchasing such items just to destroy them for an ad is a waste and a shame.

This changed the meaning from "this device can do all these things" to "we want to destroy all the things you love and make you use our device." The ad focused on the wrong thing and failed for that reason.

This changed the meaning from "this device can do all these things" to "we want to destroy all the things you love and make you use our device."
The ad focused on the wrong thing and failed for that reason.
I understand why people got mad "hey screw all these items, our product can do that too!!! Use our product!!!!"
