as a former LDS... this is bizzare to listen to. It's all made up mythology. It seems as mythological as Zeus to me. I almost went on a mission. I was never a "jack mormon". I was very devout. This doesn't seem to be a platform to debate mormonism, but I came across this video and suddenly seemed trapped in mormon-land again. Feel free to ignore me or delete my comment. But wow, this stuff is batshit crazy looking back on it. The whole "book" of Abraham is completely made up nonsense. We actually know that now. Joseph Smith made the mistake of translating egyptian heiroglyphs. Which... whoops... rosetta stone... we can now read. Guess I only felt inclined to comment... cause this was my childhood and teen years. It formed a lot of my thoughts and a lot of time and guilt was spent here.
Wow, I get goose bumps every time I hear truth and I got a lot from listening to this. It is God revealing things to me as Brad talked. Youth of the Noble birth right carry on! I remember singing that as a youth. I felt it then and I feel it now even 40 years later!
This was my favorite talk from this conference, it’s a great reminder of the responsibility we have as saints. We are not better than others, we are to help others be better. Don’t sell your birthright for a mess of pottage. The Lord of the vineyard labors with you, so carry on, carry on, carry on.
It seemed a bit harsh and judgmental. He seemed to focus on the main difference between us and "the world" is that we are to be pure and clean, like Nephi's on the cruise ship analogy instead of u worthy Laman and Lemuel types.... that we are different because we are children of the covenant (aka church members we don't drink and gamble).... hmmm After it was over I turned to my 4 children and said, "kids, Jesus actually hung out with the perceived sinners and touched their hearts. If WE ARE DIFFERENT for "the world" in any way, let it be because we are kind and forgiving and loving and welcoming and warm to everyone. Let us love when the world hates and fights. That is how Jesus was and how He loved "the world" and how we best come unto Him.
It used to be hard and shameful to be different but in these latter days, I stand alone and fight to press forward regardless of my sins, transgressions, mistakes and my weaknesses! I am stronger than ever and I owe my life to Heavenly Father. It’s much easier to pay my tithe, to take the sacrament, to attend sacrament meetings, to share my testimony and to strive to always CTR ❤🎉 🙏 🤗
One of the best conference talks I have ever heard . Thank you and God bless you all who are reading this and staying on the path in these increasingly difficult times .
Thank you for the reminder that I matter that I am loved and trusted despite my weaknesses. I will move forward reminding others that there is so much more and that we can make a difference in our own special way.
I like the way he encourages us not to feel discouraged because of obligations. (8- minute mark, maybe) As a member of the Church (the ‘crew’), I have seen how Heavenly Father helps me serve others by sending me the inspiration I need and magnifying talents I didn’t know I had. He did this for me as a new convert when I was asked to serve others in ways I absolutely had no experience with, yet I grew from the effort. Then that service opportunity prepared me for other times I had to pick up my oars to get through newer and possibly scarier waters🙂.
Brad always gave amazing talks. I really love him. From the talk, his grace is sufficient to this talk. Such a moving talk that you will feel the spirit of the Lord speaking to you. God bless you Dr. Brad Wilcox. ❤❤
I met him a few weeks ago at FSY. He gave an incredible devotional to the young men. I'm very glad I got to meet him. He was always trying to remember all of the youth's names and was such a fun guy in general.
What a great talk! I know this was aimed at the youth, but I think this is applicable to all members of the church. Brother Wilcox has my vote for next apostle!
Im listening even if im pretty gone... I disappoint everyone and maybe my deceased parents. I'm not active much... but love to listen to talks. Thank you bro wilcox
Thanks for your comment. You are not alone! None of us are perfect. Continue to reach out to Heavenly Father- He is there and He is listening. It is by small and simple things that we can feel the Spirit, feel closer to God. Seek God daily in prayer, study the scriptures or the words of the prophets, and seek help from those you trust. You are known and loved by our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ, and you are always welcome to return to church! Take care and keep going! comeuntochrist.org?cid=42001274
My teens fave talk and even bursts out and said it. I had to listen to it again and love how he described the birthright not of the old testament and gender roles. Birthright chosen to serve and not to rule others. Sadly I know of some folks that takes this word Birthright to rule hence there is a sad dissonance and family broken because of it. Apart from it, Thank you Bro. Wilcox for this added gem to help me understand.
Brother Wilcox came to my stake a couple weeks ago to speak to all the youth and I thought that talk was the best I’ve ever heard until I heard this one
This talk has both inspired me greatly and irritated me greatly at the same time. Being the father of wilful and disobedient children has helped me see the world the way our Heavenly Father does. I can certainly sympathise with Him more now than I could before I got married. I can understand where He is coming from with regards to us, His children.
brother Wilcox this is a divisive ideology and it is not of God. the devil is the great divider and author of all division among men. there is no difference between us and other children of God this talk will work to sow pride in our members; and it will sow resentment into those from other faiths.
It is true that we are all God's children. That makes us all the same. The difference is in our choices. Anyone who wants to be a child of the covenant can make the choice to become one. We are all the same, but our choices make us different.
I think you missed the entire point of this talk. He legit said that we are not better than any other person and everyone is a child of god. However it is our duty to shine our light for Gods lost children or as he put it use our birthright. Essentially the point of his talk was “with great power, comes great responsibility”
@@germanmarine6582 the issue is not HOW it's divisive, it's the fact that it IS divisive. in these times we need to come together and talk about how we are the same. we need to unite. imagine a parent addressing a portion of their children and saying "you are not just any children. you are children of the noble birthright" ... in front of the other kids. 9:25 it's just wrong and God is not telling that to his children either. because God is a good Dad 🙂
@@hoboeyjobi7020 Heavenly Father is good! And He loves perfectly. That is why He will always tell us the truth, no matter how hard or divisive it may be. Jesus Christ’s message and mission was not one that brought everyone together in perfect harmony. It was divisive. But not because He wanted it to be that way. Rather, it became divisive because some loved the darkness more than the light. Some would love the things of this world, more than the world He was offering. All of Gods children are invited to the table, and none are denied who with sincerity of heart wish to be with Him as those of the noble birthright. Heavenly Father is a good dad, in part because He will never lie to us. Brother Wilcox spoke truth. And ANYONE who listened to his talk has the same opportunity to join the youth of the noble birthright, whether they were born into or out of the Lords church.
I'm leaving this comment here so that everytime someone likes it, I'll come back and watch it one more time.

This was one of my favorite talks in all the sessions! I came back and was rebaptized recently, so this really hit home.
Welcome back brother
Welcome back brother🙏🏽
My family and I came back several years ago after decades of inactivity.... This hit home for us as well . God bless

So many great one line quotes from Elder Wilcox. Love. Love. Love!
Best talk at conference !!!
That was a wonderful call to action and birthright!
This talk gave me a renewed sense of responsibility to be a more righteous and better covenant keeper. I hope I can change the world as I do so. 🙏
I expected to enjoy Brother Wilcox's teaching and was not disappointed. So energetic, profound, and enriching, thank you.
Met brad a few months ago at FSY. He gave a phenomenal devotional and is generally a great guy. There is so much value in this talk.

He said explicitly, we aren’t better or more loved. But, we do have more responsibility
