Wow! Are your videos even real? So visceral & sublime for the senses. They seem to possess a prepossessing aura. I am stunned by the visual imagery but more so by the introspection & lucid writing. It’s a virtue to truly listen. Nature can inspire & transcend humanity. Our existence is nothing without theirs. To be aware is a power. To care, to share is a gift. Let’s pay it forward. Roar ♥️🦁. TY, Byron 🙏
Those are some very kind words. Thank you so much. It’s so rewarding to know some people can connect with the videos 🙏🏼 so true about nature helping us transcend. Appreciate you being here
Simply beautiful. Feel the same every time I have been fortunate to go on a safari. Your story telling through videos is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Ever since I first visited Marakele I've been lured back. Not for the abundent sightings as you experienced on this trip but for the beauty of the park, the peace and rest I find there. I have visited six times in the last two years in all seasons. I've seen lions twice (60 second sightings), leopard once (in and out of sight in the distance) and hyena once yet I still want to spend more time there. What I love the most are the rhino sightings, in all thier full majestic horned glory. The male rhino in this video is an exceptional example and there are not many places to see this. That alone was worth the trip. As for the mountains, well there isn't another park that can compare and when you can view the vultures taking flight above the cliffs it's even better. Enjoy the WildWild Journeys and keep sharing!
Thanks for sharing that - I agree fully. Like you said, there’s a certain lure about Marakele. I feel like it’s a very meditative place. Great point on the majestic Rhinos too 💯
@@WildWildJourneys the largest or second largest (Marakele vs Blouberg) Cape Vulture colony in South Africa. Awesome to watch them take flight in the morning and catch the thermals. In the afternoon you can see them above the mountains opposite the view point coming in to roost for the night.
Thanks Michael for watching again and the amazing feedback as usual. Can’t wait to get going in this next phase and happy to have you join for the ride!
Thank you Byron! Loved it! Accepting our own limitations gives us that peace and freedom, and within that freedom our creative mind flows into an artwork that might surprise us. I feel you bud! Great work! Cheers🇿🇦🙏🏻
Great episode as always, Byron. I did 3 nights in Marakele this March and saw... not a single mammal 😊 Not even an Impala 🙈 But then as I was packing up at Tlopi, a Malachite Kingfisher came right to my tent and just posed for a thousand pictures. It really was a dream sight. I've seen nothing on both my Marakele trips, but they were still amazing 🙏
Thank you! Wow, maybe I was just really lucky the first time around.. that kingfisher experience does sound amazing 👌🏼 special place regardless of sightings for sure
Sitting in my Garden at home in Sandton watching a African Harrier Hawk building her nest and watching your show. A black Sparrow hawk came in from the left and chaos ensued. I realised now that in a 5km radius of me are thousands if not a million people who didnt witness this amazing moment. Nature really is inspirational.
Another brilliant episode! Watching how you surrender to the flow of your journey is deeply inspiring! Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏 Cant wait for the next chapter!! 😍🙌
I could really relate to your feeling about not seeing Lions and needing to come back. Cheetah is probably my favourite animal and I couldn't find it on my first visit to South Africa (and Kruger) so one year later I felt the need to fly again. Luckily I could see a male and a female from a distance on my last day on my 2nd visit. To be fair - It still wasn't enough for me and on my 3rd visit I managed to watch a female and 2 cubs from quite close. I enjoyed it SOOO much. After my 3rd visit, I stopped lying to myself - I come back every year not because I didn't see X or Y, I'm coming back because I'm having a great time and I enjoy the animals I do see (Lions, Kudu, Elephants, Giraffes, even Impalas!). I should be grateful to be able to watch these animals in their natural habitat. Great video, again. The Rhino sighting was beautiful. I'm sure you'll find your Lions next time :)
Loved reading that! It’s almost like you fell in love with the process of it all and the other things you found along the way while doing that. So profound and also relatable 💯 I think I was also lying to myself to a point with the lions. I just needed to be between those mountains again… Thanks for sharing that and for watching
This is another awesome video! Thanks for all those beautiful wildlife moments. My favourite was the newborn Zebra foal. ❤ Good luck, you are ready for the next chapter of your journey. 🎉
@@WildWildJourneys legend thanks a lot! Cannot wait to get back to Africa ASAP, Uganda next after a quick stint in South America :) All the best with your new chapter!
Another lovely video. Thank you Byron. You, and 'The Safari Expert' remain the top vloggers. Tomorrow, I depart for Marakele, then Mapungubwe, then Punda Maria and working my way down the KNP, for a few weeks...
Beautiful video once more Byron. Like how you easily narrate the stories. When shooting this videos do u you follow the frame per second and shutter speed rule of double the shutter speed?
@@TheMavExpedition thank you so much! I try keep it in mind but it’s often a lot higher and sometimes the rule gets broken in the moment going lower than that when in low light. Work in progress 😄
Happy Sunday! Really love the sense of scale you achieved with the mountains! And I promise I tried to resist saying this but what a lovely sighting of the handsome Rhino!🤣 and of course seeing the hyena pasting. Marakele made you wait but I feel the zebra foal was also a sign for you, somehow! Cheers Byron!
Thank you once again! It certainly helps when the rhino is walking on the road 😄 I agree with you about the little zebra… Thanks for watching and have a great Sunday!
Very impressive again Bud, Always look forward to your stories that you share with us all, I always make a cup of coffee and then sit back and enjoy your film that unwinds Top quality again man and cannot wait to see the next chapter when you're the Roller now Well done bud💪💪
Another great episode Thanks Byron great way to start my wrek The part about speaking about failure really spoke to me, I feel its so easy for myself to get grumpy when you dont find a specific sighting...but it doesnt have to be seen as a failure I also find it almost funny how in the other episodes the lions play a vital role but for some wierd reason Marekeles lions dont want to play ball...
Thanks Christiaan! Yup, I’ve had to learn the ‘failure doesn’t exist’ thing a few times to really understand it… Right? Lions have been so kind to me everywhere else. I feel like Marakele is mysterious like that. It always wants me to find something abstract that I’m not looking for. Thanks again for watching 👊🏼
Fantastic! The game viewing is secondary but that doesn't matter in the slightest...just how it should be. If you don't get a call from the likes of discovery Channel to produce, direct or whatever then we need to shout your story a bit louder
Wow, thanks Dylan that’s an amazing thing to hear! And well said.. I’ve had to relearn that a few times. What a special place Marakele is regardless of what is seen
So my wife is from South Africa, she immigrated to the USA over 20 years ago. I had never been to SA before. We went in 2021 as a new wedding honeymoon and again in 2022 to bring our new born son to see family. It would be the first time she had been back in over 10 years to see some of her family. I just wanna say, I completely fell in love with the country. The raw natural beauty. There is definitely something special about it. And I too, feel the call to the bush. Every time I hear a certain song, thing of an animal, I am immediately transported back. Waiting for the day to return once again. Keep doing what your're doing. ua-cam.com/video/Tt0vFQViYng/v-deo.html
Looks like an amazing time was had! It’s awesome that you now also have that connection to SA and that you were able to bring the little one to feel it too. Hope you get to return again soon 🙌🏼
Thank you. It’s enough for now but definitely would like to upgrade at some point when I can. Getting a lot of white noise which is difficult to get rid of in editing…
You have seen tons of wildlife on this trip. You should feel blessed to be in such a beautiful landscape.
