Mapungubwe has been very kind to you, both in summer and winter - you have really captured her two different faces beautifully! That lion sighting was beyond epic 🤯🙌🏻 I’m pretty sure it’s the same pride that hung around in Mashatu just north of there a week or two before - they must have crossed the Limpopo 😍 Man, I can’t wait for your next big adventure…! 😉
She definitely showed her faces beautifully for me. Thanks so much, man! And likewise 😎👊🏼
I simply love your content. Heading to Mapungubwe tomorrow. Hope she will be more kind to us! Keep up the good work mate! Love it.
A feast for the eyes, ears, heart and soul! Loved every minute 💫
Thanks sis 🙏🏼😊
The beauty of Africa captured and narrated perfectly. It's amazing to see how the park is teeming with life at every turn. The sounds of those lions brings goosebumps. Thank you for another great video Byron
Thanks so much for the kind words Matt. That Western section of the park especially teeming with wildlife. Appreciate you watching 👊🏼
Absolutely true. I miss this so much. I lived very close to the Limpopo river. For that matter, I lived right on the Crocodile River boarder with Kruger. There is nothing like being alone with nature. Everything is different if there are many people around. 🙏🙏🙏🙏. Mahalo nui Loa for the magnificent video.
You definitely understand that feeling then.. being alone out there can be very special 🙏🏼
Once again, thank you for your unique take on our beautiful land. You bring the African spirituality to life for me.
It's awesome to see the huge size of those trees when compared to the giraffe and Ellie's under them.
I'm moved by every post you make. Thanks
Thanks so much Michael, it’s amazing to know that you’re able to connect with these videos on that level.
Those trees create such an amazing atmosphere there and add to that ancient feeling.. thanks for watching and leaving such awesome feedback!
The poetic narration in your videos is just top tier, makes the watching experience highly enjoyable! Great video Byron!
Wow, thanks so much! Happy to hear you enjoyed 🙏🏼
Beautifully filmed and narrated. Looking forward to the next videos.
Thank you so much
I am so jealous.. I can’t wait to go back to Mapungubwe next week .. if I Dnt get to see lions I swear I will cry 😭 … Your connection with nature is really incredible 💯
I was very very fortunate there, I honestly wouldn’t expect lions, to avoid disappointment. But fingers crossed for you anyway 🤞🏼
@@WildWildJourneys thank you so much .. will definitely keep my fingers crossed.. I have been thr a few times and I know predators are quite rare
How well I know that feeling! The sound of the roar of lions which gets into every cell of your body. The sounds of thst beautiful African bush which brings thrills of excitement and a total well being snd balance.
How I miss it!
It’s difficult to put into words, right? But if you know it, you know it!
Thanks for being here
The difference between the seasons … wow 🤩 so beautiful even when do dry ❤
It was everything I wanted and more.. really can’t decide which season I preferred but you’re right about the dry still being beautiful 👌🏼
Loving your videos Byron. You are so gifted, thank you for sharing your love and passion in such a beautiful way
Excellent video. I think your best to date. You keep growing as a filmmaker and a narrator
@@gileselliott wow, thank you so much!
Hey Byron. You never disappoint. Thank you for another incredible video. I loved the gentle giants with their adorable calves and the fearless lionesses with their cute and curious cubs and everything in between. I must mention that your documentaries you put together are impeccable and the sound tracks you pick as background music are always spot on. Thank you. ❤ 🇦🇺
Thanks Byron again for a brilliant journey . The fig tree who knows it's funtion excellent
Thank you!
Great stuff. The drama of the lion sighting was stunning. Along with the narrative, I enjoyed your capture of the wildlife in its habitat and the feel of winter in the bush.
Thanks Rob, super glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏼
So lovely to have you back Byron after a long break (not counting your cameo with Villiers 😋). Gorgeous footage (as usual) and beautifully narrated, you are a true orator.
Thank you! Happy to be back 🙌🏼 so difficult to keep the trips/videos coming consistently… thanks for the lovely feedback 🙏🏼
Wow Byron...you are a LEGEND !!!
This was so spiritual and so moving....whew
We are SOOO blessed to live in our land where we can access this beauty and this magic.
Ppl travel globally for one experience here in the African bush, but we experience it multiple times in a year.
I have travelled to 115 countries now and everyone always ask me, where have you had the most incredible experience?
I always reply...."South Africa and the bush, because you can go 20 times and have 20 different experiences. nothing fake or put on.....just spectacular beauty."
I would love to do a safari trip with you one day, I am sure it would be fascinating and educational.
PLS keep the incredible content coming.
it is a balm to the soul.
Well done and thank you.
Best Regards
Jed
Thanks so much for your super kind words, Jed. You’re right, we are so fortunate to have these magical places all over the country/continent. I totally understand how the bush can be your top spot out of all the places you’ve travelled, there’s nothing like it!
I’m gonna be working on some trips with a twist in the new year but more info on that closer to the time…
Thanks for being here 🙏🏼
Another beautiful film. Thank you for sharing, more please
Thank you, appreciate it!
I cannot believe your luck seeing those lions! I was also in Mapungubwe in July, and it’s like I’m experiencing the park through a different set of eyes by watching your videos. Beautiful shots and narration as always. Looking forward to your next one!
I really wasn’t expecting to actually find them, they seem to be quite elusive there! Thanks you so much 🙏🏼
Nice video Byron. Thank you.

Thanks Simon, so glad you enjoyed it.
Byron, what a stunning video! I’m a few weeks late to watch but had a big smile on my face as your video played. Your footage of the lions was just breathtaking, makes me want to get back out on safari very soon. Thank you
Thanks you so much! Got so lucky with those lions it was very special 🙏🏼
Thank you again for another great video. Would like to see firsthand those things you are seeing, but alas I live in another part of the world. Maybe some day. Until then, I keep looking another video to sit back, slow down, and enjoy.
Thank you. I really hope you get the chance someday. Appreciate the kind words
Really wonderful video. You capture so much and share it so beautifully. Thank you. I look forward to more.
Thanks so much. Appreciate it
I just love love all your amazing videos, thanks Byron! Already looking forward to the next one! 😊
Thank you so much, Nerine! So happy you’re enjoying them 🙏🏼
What a stunning episode. I was also there in the winter, heard the lions but never found them. You are truly blessed to experience that. Mapungubwe is the place that you actually don't need to spot game. The landscapes are breathtaking enough! I had an Ele come right to my tent at Mazhou! And it looks like you spotted a potential Tusker at 25m46s ??
Thank you! It seems like one of those places where the lions are often heard but not seen, so I feel very lucky.. agreed about the beautiful landscapes.
Ellies in camp must an incredible experience. I’m not sure about tusker but certainly a stand out individual 👌🏼
Another episode!!! Yes Please!!! Keep them coming!
🙌🏼🙏🏼💪🏼👊🏼💯
I have never been there before, it looks so beautiful!❤ awesome video again!❤
@@Togos_Lyrics it’s a very special place. Thank you 🙏🏼
I recently discovered your channel. Really love to watch your channel
Epic man! Saw those cubs back in May. Returning in 2 weeks to hopefully come right like you did!
Awesome, good luck! 🍀
Wow content camera work out of this world. Dis droog daar maar diere lyk in goeie kondisie thanks for sharing
Thank you! Yes very dry, but they seem to be managing alright 👍🏼
Excellent video!
I do hope you continue to produce these videos however I can't help noticing that something is driving you hard from the inside that goes far beyond what is being expressed in these videos. I don't know how this will ultimately be expressed but, if forced to speculate, I cannot help feeling that something like a book (or several for that matter) or a feature-length documentary that really gives you both the width and the depth to indulge your prodigious talents will be where you ultimately head...
In the meantime I count it a great privilege to be allowed to share in your journey!
Salute
Hi Tony, thanks so much for your amazing feedback. There is indeed something much deeper going on here which I haven’t been able to dive into with these videos yet. Your thoughts are very encouraging though and I’d love to explore those formats at some point.
Until then, Safari Journals will continue indefinitely… again, I really appreciate your kind words!

@@WildWildJourneys I have been binge watching. It is cold dark and damp here in London. i will be back in JoBurg soon.
FIRST🎉
It appeared that those two baby elephants could have been twins, Is that possible ? They looked to be the same size and age.
It’s certainly possible 👍🏼
Did the cubs service after the Lions roaring and mom calling for the little cubs?
I could hear them from the bushes when they went down the river bank 👍🏼
