So happy you showed this video. It’s so easy to dismiss the not so good trips but this just proves that beauty is everywhere. Even the simplicity of raindrops on branches and a rain laden sky. You have found that beauty with your sympathetic filming. Keep inspiring us with your fabulous work. 😊
Thank you Kathy! It ironically became one of the most valuable trips in many ways and some great memories were made in the rain 🌧️ thank you for watching and for the awesome feedback
Making this video says a lot about your character and your commitment to the channel, Byron. I know from experience that the holes can become very deep after trips like these, and getting out takes more energy than most will ever know. I’m actually on my way to film solo in the Kgalagadi for two weeks later this month and I’ve been preparing mentally for those days where the heat, drought and slow games drives get too much, especially without my wife there with me… But if you can turn a tough trip on its head like you’ve done with this one, damn, the sky’s the limit 🚀 Respect!
Really appreciate that coming from you, Villiers. It’s been amazing how these trips seem to reflect yourself back at you! Good luck in Kgalagadi, I’m sure it’s gonna be incredible regardless of those inevitable tough days and looking forward to seeing what comes from it 💯
So pleased you persevered with this video Byron, showing us that it’s not always perfect conditions that you have to cope with. I’ve just found your channel and I’m looking forward to seeing much much more. You are so right that it’s the bits in between the awesome sights that stitch together to make the complete tapestry. You’ve got great camera skills so thank you for sharing your travels with us 😊
Thanks again for this video. I had to smile when you moved in Mila camp. We also booked tend because of cooler nights and tent was nice. When we came in the evening back from trip to camp we spotted an adult hyaena in camp area. 2 minutes before 6 pm we arrived at camp office and begged to change to get a hut because we had so much fear of hyyaena and the not short and bushy way from car to tent.🤪
I love that you showcased a bit more about yourself and your journey in this video! It really lets people know what Wild Wild is all about and who you are. Can’t wait to see the other adventures you go on!
Video at its best.. Wonderful editing and musics brings life to this video.. Hope you will reach some heights.. Quality content as usual from you.. 😍😍😍
Fantastic video Byron!! Videos of animals alone can become so drab, so adding a bit about yourself and the actual experience is brilliant, it really takes the viewer along with you for the journey. This is fast becoming a favourite channel of mine. Keep the content coming and all the best going forward.
Hi Ian, thanks a ton for that valuable feedback! I really appreciate it. Will eventually strike that balance between the journey and the wildlife in these videos
I must say, this is a video that I can totally relate to. My personal experience in South Africa started as a volunteer with Wildlife Act. In my opinion the best volunteer organization I have been involved with in over fifty years of conservation and environmental efforts. I love South Africa and lived in the Mpumalunga region for two and one half years. I spent most of my time in reserves throughout South Africa. This video explains a great deal. I started out “Starry-eyed” and everyday was a dream come true. Then I really started to connect with nature and especially the life within it. Not being a tourist, but being part of nature. My perspective changed and I felt and still do more like a Male protector of my environment than a visitor. I have become that “Voice for the Voiceless”. I have lost some acquaintances because I am so passionate about saving nature. Wonderful video 🙏🙏. Mahalo nui loa to both of you wonderful people 🌺👍❤️
Hi Jacob, I’m really glad you related to the video. Thanks for watching and it’s great to know that there are people like you out there connecting with nature on a deeper level and as a result becoming a protector and ambassador for it too. 🙏🏼
Another awesome video Byron! Lekker to you see you in my neck of the woods :) Hluhluwe-iMfolozi is such a beautiful Park - you'll have to give it another go between April - August & stay in Tent 29, you won't regret it! Thank you for not scrapping the video
Thanks for watching, Kendall! You’re right, it really is beautiful. Thanks for the tip, I’m definitely going back and will make sure to ask for tent 29 🙌🏼
By. I'm so happy you found your peace and your calling. Seeing the wisdom that I caught glimpses of come through so clearly, is inspiring. Perhaps our paths will cross again. But if not I wish you only the life you deserve. And what you deserve is bliss.
Excellent video Byron! I couldn't agree more, it is so important to share those moments with the world. I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come, but keep creating and doing what you love!
Thanks for sharing Byron. Many of us go to the bush. Not all of us learn about life and share. Just discovered the videos after following your photos on Instagram - they are really great!
Hi Mark, it’s a pleasure to be able to share this kind of stuff. And thank you for that - Been forgetting to take photos with all the filming recently! Thanks for taking the time to watch
Thanks for the Awesome video once again Byron Definitely a bit different but you are still inspring others, definitely a couple of life lessons in this video The rhino sightings with the horns is just next level, thanks for all the effort you put into these videos😁
Hi Byron! Am loving your videos of an incredible part of the world. I was at Manyeleti, Lower Sabi and Nambiti last year (am from Australia) and it has really got into my blood! I was wondering what that music is you use fairly often.....I think guitar and children's choir? I really like it.
Thank you, Susan! Sounds like the safari bug has truly bitten with you... I think the song you're talking is about is called Nena's Song (Kenya) by Hans Johnson
@@WildWildJourneys Yes......that's exactly it! I keep humming it......can't help myself. You have also inspired me to learn and do more videoing (I have EOS R6), which I have always shied away from and stuck with stills. I am hoping to go to Kenya/Tanzania next year, so better get practicing!! Thank you again for the inspiration.
@@susancallaghan that’s amazing to hear! It’s really rewarding and enjoyable so you have a lot to look forward to 🙌🏼 hope it works out and you get to go there - still on my bucket list… good luck and enjoy it!
Great video, Byron. I've finally decided to pluck up the courage and film my trips as well 😅 Still need to think of a name for a channel.. May I ask what video editing software you use? And for any tips you may have for someone just starting an overlanding channel with no video editing experience?
Hi Mallo, thank you! That’s awesome, welcome to the club. I use Final Cut Pro - there is a trial version you can try for 3 months. I also had no video editing experience just a few months ago but found plenty of tutorials on UA-cam that were super helpful in getting started so I would start there. But most of all, I would say just get started, take the first steps and so much gets learned along the way. It’s very rewarding! 💯
Byron thank you. Another great adventure. Very pleased you didn't ditch it 😁.
Thanks, Michael I’m glad you enjoyed it! Also very glad I didn’t 👀
