Using voice to text here. I am very grateful that you're explaining things as you go along cause I can't see what you're doing and it is really nice to hear what you're doing with my guitar. Thank you for your efforts and all that you do.
Wow, Jake! Got here by searching AS93BC. Picked one up a couple of months ago and everything you said is so true. I've looked at a lot of review videos and you are the first one to mention the importance of checking your pickups (height/balance) that is so crucial to a great sound. (Including tweaking the individual pole heights.) Your comment about the effect on the type of amp you use, so true! (And very much overlooked...) Everything counts. Keep dealing it out straight, it's awesome. Ignore the others, they don't have to watch! 🙂
Hi Jake, we all get the odd negative comments from time to time, I also just mute them and forget about it ! I own an Ibanez AS93FM, and an AG95QA, and have always been amazed how they do it for the money, not just the setup and fit & finish, but also the quality of components, including volume and tone pots that aren't just on and off switches, like so many other brands ! I've made videos on both guitars, including one putting the AS93 through a boost pedal, which really gave it 'teeth and claws' , and added a whole new dimension to the already great sounds. Take care mate, I've subbed and look forward to more from you. Cheers, Robbo.
@@robbolandsvids Thanks, Robbo! I am going to check out your channel and sub when I get there. Thank you for the kind words and info on some Ibanez models. Jake
I have an AS73. Had it almost a month, still learning the fine points of it, but so far I love it. It sounds great, love the dual controls. I couldn't imagine now going to a single-control guitar. Set the controls differently and you get the whole "step on a pedal" thing just switching pickups. And it just FITS my body so well. I think a 335 would seem unweildy now. The Artcore is the perfect size, the neck is a breeze to play. Even if I had the money, I can't imagine what I'd want to "upgrade" to? Maybe I'd check out some of the higher end Artcores, idk. But the Artcore is perfect for me. I got it on Marketplace for 3 bills, complete with strap and hardshell case. Used, but barely played. I almost bought an AS53, but it got scooped up before I could get there. It was a blessing, I see now. The 53s are single controls. And for some reason the selector is between the knobs, which irks me just on an aesthetic level. To each their own, though. I'm sure you can still make some great music with the 53, but I really need those dual controls. I guess the 93 is a higher end one? Idk. But I'm pretty dang happy with the 73.
Hi, Very nice video and really good talk about the respect of the Brand Ibanez with their public consumers. Only Ibanez in the Headstock for all guitars. I bought this guitar also a month ago in the GC San Antonio TX , I was in trip , I'm from Brazil, and saw this amazing guitar , perfect setup, amazing action, very good sound, and I never bought Ibanez, this is my first Ibanez guitar. I also have one D'Angelico Premier DC BoardWalk with Seymour Duncan pickups that this model come with (very light weight) and one Epiphone ES 335 IG, that is a really good guitar in sound but didn't came set up as well as Ibanez. So I think this AS 93 is a really well made guitar with nice pickups, comparable with SD pickups, nice tuners, ebony fretboard, amazing nut and frets leveled ,easy to fret and play. The only negative point is perhaps the weight that is around 3,58 to 3,60 kilos or 7,90 lbs. That's the weight of the Epiphone, but I thought this guitar was a little lighter. How much does your Ibanez semi hollow guitars weight ? The same? Thanks, and congrats for the reviews that we don't find that much from Ibanez guitars. It would be interesting if you made a comparison of your Ibanez semi-hollows that you have!!! Best regards!!!! Paulo !!! 👍👍
@pbgoncalves4 Thanks, Paulo . I plan on doing a video of all my Ibanez guitars soon. I will try to remember to weigh them and compare each. It sounds like you are enjoying your Ibanez! They are great guitars for the price and quality. Jake.
I wish my dad would give me guitars every once and a wile ( He did when i first started ). Ibanez collection vid incoming! I was just then playing some 38 Special on my Ibanez RG and funnily enuf I raised my pick up too. Forget the haters. I cant live with out hearing that sexy voice of yours! 🤣
You do an incredible job on your channel. If some jerk has negative remarks they can hit the road there’s tons of other content on UA-cam. Also it wouldn’t be bad at all if your monetized your channel, that would be fine to be able to invest in other video equipment etc etc. God Bless
Hey Jake, I just discovered your channel as I was researching this specific guitar! I noticed in your collection video that you also have an Ibanez JSM20 (Scofield model). Can you tell me about any differences between the sound and feel of this model vs. the JSM20? I know the woods are different but the pickups are the same; I'm just curious if you feel the JSM20 is worth the extra $$. Thanks!!
@richr.9963 The jsm20 has a little fatter neck, and the fretboard width is greater as well. the artstar and artcore models i own, both have smaller neck profiles and fretboard width is not as wide as the jsm20. They all play really easy imo. They all sound great too. I honestly like the way they all feel in the hand..the Scofield may have a little more eye candy then the other two. tough to guess which is better, all worth the money in my opinion. hope this helps. Jake
Would you ever do a video on how to change a strip trust rod nut on Stratocaster no one wants to work on it they tell me to just replace the neck but I wanna keep it original thanks
@DBMorris Thanks, i don't let it bother me too much. I am trying to do something good for people, and I can't stand those morons getting in the way. chirp chirp..lol

@ great to know and thanks for the reply! I tend to prefer a slimmer neck so I may pull the trigger on an AS93 :)
