Just delete apps you don't need or use, and customise your notifications so you don't receive alerts for everything. A bit housekeeping on your phone does wonders.
"Housekeeping" worked for me (delete social media apps), but I had fulfilling daily life before smartphones; the addiction (zombie virus) never had a chance to change my brain chemistry.
That last time I had a "dumbphone" when I charged it up to 100% the battery could last for 2 - 3 weeks before I'd have to charge it up again. My smart phone battery only last for 4 or 5 days. I'd happy ditch my awful smart phone for a simple flip phone
tbh i miss the physical keyboard on my blackberry. could get so much more done with it. it was obviously not the best for surfing the internet- but the texting and messenger services where so quick and zippy
Yes, absolutely, I have been using a dumb phone for months. I use a tablet or laptop at home but enjoy the simplicity of a dumb phone when out and about. Sometimes simple is better...
Well you could get a cheap android phone and ask skmeone to dumb it down. They also have tutorial on youtube how. If you're strong enough you can use it in your daily life
I think the idea is that by rejecting convenience you will lose out on somethings sure, but you might find that you gain other things that are better. You might lose out on some businesses, restaurants, etc. But maybe you find another business to use. Like as an example. Maybe by not having a smart phone I wont have access to dating apps, but maybe that leads me to start hobbies and I meet someone that way. Maybe I miss out on one restaurant but that leads me to try a different restaurant that I actually end up liking. Something like that. Sometimes taken the long way is better than the shortcuts, I guess.
@@hhjhj393 Yep. I've never had a smartphone, and because of that I recently had that very _'restaurant menu QR code'_ experience thing you just postulated, which led me to a fantastic "hole-in-the-wall" cafe, with amazing coffees, as well as foods, and...books! It has walls lined with books that one can read (and check out, library style), and also an atmosphere that actively encourages people to just bring along their _own_ books (what I do) and enjoy a leisure time...bliss.
I remember phones before the advent of answer phones. People knew if you didn't answer you were probably out, busy or in the bathroom. You didn't get charged for an unanswered call. No answer meant "phone again later". I loved my camera as a camera. We went to the cinema to watch a movie. Wonderful time when we were not enslaved in a money sucking unnecessary piece of plastic.
I do think we’re on the cusp of a huge rebellion against too much tech, and a desire for simpler living. Especially with the climate situation getting worse and worse. People will want to simplify as much as they can, to be more sustainable and reduce stress.
Yet I still spent 6h on UA-cam yesterday. I don't have social media. Social media isn't the problem. There just isn't much exciting things to do nowadays that take your attention away from the phone.

As someone watching this on my phone, I'd really love to break the addiction. But everything is on it. It links to my rewatch, it has navigation and more importantly, it has my music (about 30,000 songs) on it for when I'm out. That said, this video has made me realise I can do without most of the apps I have.
@@TheCentennial4 I live in London. It's not a city you want to listen to if you live here, especially the suburbs. I do have a couple of nature walks near my house and I do unplug the headphones when I'm walking through them, but the rest is just traffic. It's weird because when you get to the end and start hearing traffic, it's quite jarring. You get accustomed to the tranquility very quickly.
I hear you with the music part, I need constant music to focus. That being said, most modern dumb phones have micro SD slots and you can load a SHIT ton of music on them. I even used my AirPods with my flip phone last year since mine had Bluetooth lmao
Also, if you’re talking car navigation I bet you could find cheap old garmins somewhere. I used my parents old one and downloaded updated maps so all was good.
Hi! I might have found the perfext dumbphone for me and it could be it for you too! I just ordered a CAT S22 flip. It's a flip phone that runs Android 12 (go), so it can have all of the apps that Android Go can run. Its tiny screen is the perfect deterrent, and I'll install all the apps I need (banking, spotify, messenger, maps) and remove the ones I don't need using my computer (web browser, play store mostly). I then will have the "dumbphone" that is perfectly tailored to my needs! I encourage you to look into something similar if there are certain apps you just can't give up but would like to switch over. Have a good day!
I've tried using dumbphone, but it just wasn't for me. I drive a lot, and phone with navigation is a must. However I use it with purpose. On main page I have folders for each purpose: Transport (Train,Airlines), Maps, Finances, etc. There are no instagram, facebook, tik tok or other shit.
That's not the point though, this video shows that there are people who are just very addicted to their smart phones and by switching to a dumb phone/old phone, it makes their life more "healthier" or helps them gain more time to spend with their family, friends etc. It's not about how "fun" or "entertaining" the phone that they switched to, it's about trying to balance their life outside of their phones because most of the time we just spend hours and hours on our phones without realizing it.
Employers, universities, and online services sometimes require authenticators. As far as I know, that essentially obligates employees, students, and anybody living a world controlled by the Internet to have a smartphone, no matter whether that person prefers a simpler phone or not.
My uni uses microsoft office (i wish it didnt) and its either use THEIR app (microsofts, cant use another one) or use SMS. SMS 2FA is way to unsecure to be still used by anyone yet every company uses it, its stupid, but saved me from having to install microsoft apps, aka spyware.
No i wouldnt. Because i have self control. My phone is on my table 99.9 percent of the time. If i want to talk to someone i visit them in person or use my PC to talk to them.
Good for you! But sadly most people can't control their addiction to a smart phone that's why they switch to a dumb phone but hey, they start becoming happier after switching to one and start spending more time with the people they love. :)
Why on Earth are we blaming the phone!? Smartphones are great and it’s super-simple to use them for their many wonderful features and avoid any and all addictive uses and apps. The problem is the user not the phone.
I hope this trend continues with other electronics as well like cars and tvs. For a TV I just want a good screen. No assistant, no built-in browser, no updates or wifi. For a car just something basic with physical buttons and not an array of screens and driver assists
The peak of my disgust was when I was travelling on the subway and I saw a young woman with a cellphone in each hand and using them both at the same time. I had the time to look at her. She had no idea I was watching her.
I don’t use any social media. Consequently, smart phones aren’t quite so much of a distraction. Even so, news apps and Google can mop up hours of my life if I’m not careful.
I own a feature phone because I prefer it, it has nothing to do with addiction. I haven't wanted to get a smartphone and I like the design of the model I have.
No. Why? Because, for example, my bank no longer allows me to use online banking without its Smartphone app. Even if you want to get desktop access, you generate the access code via the app. Giving up my smartphone would mean giving up online banking.
No, I wouldn't. As a recent (one year) adopter of smartphones, I did worry about this "smartphone addiction" people are always on about. What I've concluded is: it doesn't exist. *Social media* addiction is what exists, and afflictees are so unable to conceive of smartphones being used for anything other than social media... that they coined the term wrong.
I am addicted to social media but, personally, if I have a smartphone in my hands I will get to it no matter what deterrents I have in place. I also will not spend hours on it if I am on my computer. Mind you I am gen z and I have been living with this through my entire teenage years, so these patterns of behavior are very very very difficult to break. So, yes, the smartphone is more of a "vehicle", but at the same time it's what it's DESIGNED to do, to keep you for hours on it. That's why I don't think the term "smartphone addiction" is inappropriate.
You haven’t seen people play games all day on their phone? Or be addicted to news/information? Or the best is those who just online shop all day. You could get addicted to looking up recipes, there are millions to browse! There is more than social media 🤣
@@juste.une.mouche uhm no! if you are addicted to alcohol you don't go to the bar not burning the city which is a platform where bar lives, the same with smartphones, if you are addicted to social media you are not instalinng it or blocking not burning phone! Yeah the keypads were a fair bit annoying to use. Push the same button x times to get the letter you want but you have to wait a few seconds to put the same letter next to it otherwise it just changes to the next letter Arrowkeys were also very small and awkward to use.
But that was the point with the keypads and it made you use the device less, and call someone rather than texting etc; Blackberries always had the right balance imo
Maybe in the 90s, but by the 2000s if you wanted a phone that just called, texted and stored contacts, you could easily get one that'd be extremely reliable. Combine that with not having to sign into a google/apple account, not having to setup any syncing, not having to setup wifi, often not having to go through an extensive setup wizard at all, and finially FAR better battery life.... they were much easier to use in my opinion. You just grab it, shove a sim in it, set a funny ringtone and you're done. I'll admit T9 is a pain though, but only really because I've learnt QWERTY. Recently I've relearnt T9 and after some practice, it's perfectly natural.
@@B_-.- living in the 90s and 2000s was a nightmare for me. I was depressed nearly all the time. Those phones were like having a car that didn't have wheels or a house without roof. No. Now is better. But modern day smartphones master's have to work on the battery life issue.
I wouldn't switch for a dumb phone but I do think smartphones are too bloated. I don't need a super camera on the back and a selfie camera. 80% of the functions are too much. It would be nice if phones were modular and I could pick the parts I wanted. Kinda like with a pc. I'd skip the selfie camera for example and only choose a decent enough back camera. I don't need 400 lenses.
But the word ‘dumb’ is in the name. I think it would be the same thing about choosing between dating a handsome smart young man and an ugly dumb grandpa.
But it’s not so simple to switch even if we want to, everything is online these days, from paying phone and electricity bills to banking. Everything we do requires an account id and password.
My smart phone is for calling, messaging and taking photos and music in my car My photos are for personal use and don’t upload to anyone else’s other than my family
It's all good saying, oh yeah "i'll delete everything and turn it into a dumb phone". But the truth is, you need your phone, for me at school i could be doing stuff on my phone, simultaneously using 8 different apps, watching a maths video, making flashcards on a quizlet, listeing to music, reading a textbook, looking on Google Classroom, editing my chemistry presentation etc. They're called "smart" phones for. a reason, the only thing that isn't smart about it is the people using them (myself included). You need to take control of your brain, force yourself to put it down, or stop mid-video etc. Block out the unnecessaries. I don't think "dumb phones" will really take off, the world needs technology, and until there's a convenient replacement for smartphones, you will be needing one.
To be honest, my aspiration for smart phone stopped at the Nokia 9000 (1999). The one with qwerty keyboard and monochrome screen. I never liked newer phones with cameras, colour screens, internet, social media, music. I've always wanted something just a bit smarter than dumb. But not a total mini computer of itself.
I purposely have no social media on my phone. But I hate getting the stupid newsreel because I don't see the point of seeing horrible things I can do nothing about.
I went 6 months no smartphone and it was the best time of my life. Spent my time reading and writing and my creativity felt at its highest ever! I’m going to go back as I’m wasting my life away on this damn thing
I never bought a smartphone when they first came out because I was a student trying to save money. I ended up never getting one because it never felt like a priority and I find touchscreens frustrating to type on. Though this wasn't an intentional lifestyle choice, it seems to have served me well because it means my work emails can't follow me around outside of office hours and I can switch off when travelling - I've noticed the contrast with some more stressed out colleagues.
Yeah some people really need to disconnect their private life from work. My friend kept writing a bunch of work-related messages to colleagues even after work, which made the atmosphere a bit more stressful... I just want to relax when I'm not obliged to work...
Millennial here and I just switched to a dumb phone. Use my iPad at home and take the dumb phone with me. For a week I had withdrawal but now it’s going away. It’s insane how addicted we are - People wonder why legislatures don’t regulate any of this for kids? It’s because the legislatures themselves are addicted. This is crazy because it seems everybody knows we are addicted and the negative effects on society but nobody is willing to do anything about it because everybody is addicted
Nah I’m good with all the functionality my phone affords me, getting rid of your phone because you can’t get off social media is peak idiocy. Just don’t download insta, tik tok and snap. Crazy how people have so little self restraint they need to have things completely removed. 😂
The irony of so many comments about never using social media yet they're on UA-cam. Amazing how many people go to UA-cam for their news as opposed to the broadcaster, in this instance, BBC. I think smartphones have become so normal that people don't even realise they're using a smartphone. Like me, I'm replying on my Nokia 3310. Oh, and the person who claimed their battery lasts 4-5 days. Even if you don't use your smartphone, the battery won't last 4-5 days 😂
Giving kids a smart phone is NOT like giving them the world. It is akin to giving them TO the world to be exploited, abused, marketed to, 'shaped..' etc... It's a little like just dropping your 5 year old child in the middle of the worst part of town at 2 am! sheesh.
nope, my smart phone sits on my desk most days, the sole biggest use it sees is playing music when I go out riding sometimes, having said that, if something like a classic Nokia 3310 existed with Spotify app, I would bin my Samsung in a heartbeat :D
the new (2017) nokia 3310 have a bunch of apps on them, but sadly no spotify. But I think a phone like this is coming soon, there is just so much demand for dumb phones with Whatsapp and Spotify. It's all people want lol
I've heard that the Deezer app for J2ME, which is supported on most old dumb phones and on some newer ones, still works, so try that if you have 2G or 3G coverage in your area.
Thank you for this great video. I used to be addicted to my smartphone, but I switched to a dumbphone for my mental health. I'm a Japanese author. (I wrote a book about my experience and am working to spread awareness of the dangers of smartphone addiction.) I'm so glad I switched to a dumbphone, and it scares me to think what would have happened if I had stayed addicted. Smartphone addiction is that scary. As smartphones have become more widespread, dumbphones have become a minority, but I've seen a lot of overseas news about dumbphones recently. (This BBC video, as well as the New York Times and The New Yorker. Nokia's new dumbphone is also coming out.) I'm really hoping that the merits of the dumbphone will be reevaluated. Dumbphones are still a minority at the moment, but I hope more people will use them. Please do another feature on dumbphones if you like!
I dont need to switch, I just dont own a phone full stop never have XD everyone noes to contact me via email, phones are poison to the brain/mental health
I think having seperate devices doing separate things is the way to go. A phone for phone and text, a map for navigation, a cd player or mp3 player for music, a camera, a book, etc. Yes a smart phone is convenient because it had all of those in one device, but the cost is that it has access to things you DONT want like youtube, social media, porn, shorts, and all sorts of other garbage. Combing uses is too risky, it opens up opportunity for companies to have too much control over you.
I recently bought a new dumbphone for use when i'm not working.. i still have to keep my smartphone for emergency work + business (the perils of having more than one job) but honestly i found using a dumbphone when i'm not working really brings back the simplicity of just enjoying life
What I miss about dumb phones was the satisfaction of flipping open or slamming shut a flip phone. Other than that I’m happy with my smart phone. I am not addicted prehaps because I am old and was brought up before mobile existed.
You can give a smartphone to a child just use the technology the correct way there are controls on all smartphones where you can block or limit access to certain apps and the internet and even times during the day when the phone can be used while still allowing the child to make and receive phone call to Parents.
What I hate is feeling hostage to the latest urges and notifications. It makes me feel like I have zero self control. I appreciate that we can do a lot with our phones, such as watching movies, reading, conversing with family and friends. But other activities are purely addictive and time-wasting. It would be cool to have a phone that does the bare minimum: phone app for calling, camera for taking photos and videos, maps for navigation, music app for listening to songs and podcasts, a barebones browser with reader mode to read articles, a book app to read books, maybe Messenger since it's the app my family uses to talk. But nothing more.
turned my iphone off two weeks ago and havent turned it back on; never plan on doing so either. highly recommend anyone to just try a day or two going without; the change you feel is immediate.
Stop using social media… and you should be fine. Also put restrictions on yourself. There are apps for that. The only way I’m using a dumb phone is if an exact reincarnation of the Motorola Razr or Nokia 8110 (not in their new form, but just like the old look) is connected to my primary phone number (which by the way is still in my smartphone which is in my bag), and I can pull out the stylish Razr or 8110 to receive a call in the bus or subway, instead of having to pull out my smartphone which will definitely end up resulting in a few more minutes of screen time. So, win win. I get to show off my cool Razr or 8110 and I shave off precious minutes of my screen time.
You don't really need 10 apps to stream movies and 5 different apps to post your selfie.
Yea you need 20 at 5G

"Housekeeping" worked for me (delete social media apps), but I had fulfilling daily life before smartphones; the addiction (zombie virus) never had a chance to change my brain chemistry.
The battery of my dumbphone lasts a week
Me and the Mrs watched a film with our 22 year old daughter the other day all she did was pick her phone up every 2 minutes
Reduced attention span due to tiktok Snapchat, Facebook, UA-cam, etc
That's her choice boomers maybe the movie wasn't that good also
good, movies suck
That last time I had a "dumbphone" when I charged it up to 100% the battery could last for 2 - 3 weeks before I'd have to charge it up again. My smart phone battery only last for 4 or 5 days. I'd happy ditch my awful smart phone for a simple flip phone
i charge my dumbphone about once per week if that.
tbh i miss the physical keyboard on my blackberry. could get so much more done with it. it was obviously not the best for surfing the internet- but the texting and messenger services where so quick and zippy
Yes, absolutely, I have been using a dumb phone for months. I use a tablet or laptop at home but enjoy the simplicity of a dumb phone when out and about. Sometimes simple is better...
Admittedly, texting is cumbersome...
I never switched to a smartphone. It does kinda bite me in the ass when it comes to needing to scan a Qr for a menu or needing a mobile ticket.
Well you could get a cheap android phone and ask skmeone to dumb it down. They also have tutorial on youtube how. If you're strong enough you can use it in your daily life
The smart phone I had before my current dumb phone didn’t even do the QR code thing.
Switched to a dumbphone 4 days ago and I couldn’t be happier!
I think it's a great trend - if people actually stuck to it. Unfortunately modern society has made it very difficult to live without a smartphone.
I’d prefer if my truck had no computer… a dumb truck! I have one older dumb truck, but wish the new one were as well!
A visit to the hairdresser used to be an opportunity for gossip. Now all the customers sit glued to their screens. Personally, I like people.
I do think we’re on the cusp of a huge rebellion against too much tech, and a desire for simpler living. Especially with the climate situation getting worse and worse. People will want to simplify as much as they can, to be more sustainable and reduce stress.
Just don’t have social media it’s not that hard .. like at all
Yet I still spent 6h on UA-cam yesterday. I don't have social media.
Social media isn't the problem. There just isn't much exciting things to do nowadays that take your attention away from the phone.
@@TheCentennial4 youtube is social media! i only watch it on the laptop. I have iphone for convienient usage (uber, paying, tickets, maps etc) my SOT is average 30 minutes daily. today whooping 7 minutes. don't blame toll! if you stab yourself with a knife, don't blame the knife!
I constantly delete and redownload apps..... It's insanely hard to fight the habits. I have deleted and redownloaded Dominos probably like 50 times over my lifetime.
As someone watching this on my phone, I'd really love to break the addiction.
But everything is on it. It links to my rewatch, it has navigation and more importantly, it has my music (about 30,000 songs) on it for when I'm out.
That said, this video has made me realise I can do without most of the apps I have.
Howabout listen to nature and the city when out instead of having two things stuck in your ear?
Why would you want to switch from something better and more entertaining to old technology which just wasn't that much fun
I would love a flip phone with Google maps, and Spotify. No UA-cam and maybe a lite search engine
The newer Nokia non-smartphones have these, they both come in flip and candy bar versions
Cat s22 flip
Phones with J2ME support have Google Maps and as I've heard, another music streaming service, Deezer.

Most people are addicted to smartphones and couldn't give them up. They are sad people.
Its true, most people are sad.
Still use a Nokia 6230 to this day ,its 20 yrs old, 1 new battery in the time I've had it, still works fine.
I am also still have my Nokia 5130, i have it for more than 14 years since highschool, and it still work
That's awesome.
Employers, universities, and online services sometimes require authenticators. As far as I know, that essentially obligates employees, students, and anybody living a world controlled by the Internet to have a smartphone, no matter whether that person prefers a simpler phone or not.
It's not good for older people. My mum refuses to have one.
" -obligates- _disenfranchises_ employees, students.... "
Exactly. People are too dumb nowadays and slaves to their phone. If you don't wanna use something then don't. If you do then okay
both of you suck
I hope this trend continues with other electronics as well like cars and tvs.
For a TV I just want a good screen. No assistant, no built-in browser, no updates or wifi.
For a car just something basic with physical buttons and not an array of screens and driver assists
fr why does my tv need to have like 10 different streaming services when live tv channels are just fine!
Not really I love my phone I don’t want to go back when the tech is so good
Yes.. i want the old days back when life wasn't stuck on a PHONE
Yes, but some apps are mandatory, say authenticator, payment apps etc.
I've never used one of those.

The idea of the dumbphone is really good, it can help people give up addiction which is very hard nowadays
New cellphone are too expensive.
It's great having what is essentially a compact computer in the palm of your hand but sometimes I like to leave it at home.
@@Maggie-zb7gx Those aren't _called_ phone addiction though. They're called what they are: game addiction, etc.
@@juste.une.mouche uhm no! if you are addicted to alcohol you don't go to the bar not burning the city which is a platform where bar lives, the same with smartphones, if you are addicted to social media you are not instalinng it or blocking not burning phone! I've noticed as technology improves it results in humans getting dumber
Yes I do want the old phones back
No. 53 years old here. No, they were a pain back in the days. nostalgia had its limits.
Yeah the keypads were a fair bit annoying to use.
Push the same button x times to get the letter you want but you have to wait a few seconds to put the same letter next to it otherwise it just changes to the next letter
Arrowkeys were also very small and awkward to use.
@@cmiguel268slide out keyboards were nice, but then again a lot of those were early smartphones I guess
I quit smartphones 4 months ago and I enjoy real life.
4 hours of screen time, u call that addiction.. Mine is about 10 hours
If it wasn't for the GPS I would
But it’s not so simple to switch even if we want to, everything is online these days, from paying phone and electricity bills to banking. Everything we do requires an account id and password.
My smart phone is for calling, messaging and taking photos and music in my car
My photos are for personal use and don’t upload to anyone else’s other than my family
Some mobile apps I do like, mainly navigation - I would love the 4.5" screen to come back.

I went back to a blackberry a year ago. Only recently got a smart phone again. Yet no social media at all. This is as social as I get. It's nice.
I would really love smart phones to just go away.
Or you could just add restriction on your phone limiting the amount of apps you want to use at C a certain time
I purposely have no social media on my phone.
Yes, I will when I retire and no longer need a smartphone.
Nah I’m good with all the functionality my phone affords me, getting rid of your phone because you can’t get off social media is peak idiocy. Just don’t download insta, tik tok and snap. Crazy how people have so little self restraint they need to have things completely removed. 😂
so youre addicted also, just not to social media? congrats???
The irony of so many comments about never using social media yet they're on UA-cam. Amazing how many people go to UA-cam for their news as opposed to the broadcaster, in this instance, BBC.
I think smartphones have become so normal that people don't even realise they're using a smartphone.
Like me, I'm replying on my Nokia 3310.
Oh, and the person who claimed their battery lasts 4-5 days. Even if you don't use your smartphone, the battery won't last 4-5 days 😂
No need to cripple yourself. Just use a bit of willpower if you're using it too much.
Giving kids a smart phone is NOT like giving them the world. It is akin to giving them TO the world to be exploited, abused, marketed to, 'shaped..' etc... It's a little like just dropping your 5 year old child in the middle of the worst part of town at 2 am! sheesh.
Turn notifications off? 😳
The techless wisephone ii seems good but it won't be available outside the USA.
what if you delete the apps that suck all your time? Ohh noooo I can't, the solution is buy a new device :(((((((((((((
nope, my smart phone sits on my desk most days, the sole biggest use it sees is playing music when I go out riding sometimes, having said that, if something like a classic Nokia 3310 existed with Spotify app, I would bin my Samsung in a heartbeat :D
the new (2017) nokia 3310 have a bunch of apps on them, but sadly no spotify. But I think a phone like this is coming soon, there is just so much demand for dumb phones with Whatsapp and Spotify. It's all people want lol
I've heard that the Deezer app for J2ME, which is supported on most old dumb phones and on some newer ones, still works, so try that if you have 2G or 3G coverage in your area.
you cant use carplay in the car with these phones. its such a great feature which i love
Thank you for this great video.
I used to be addicted to my smartphone, but I switched to a dumbphone for my mental health.
I'm a Japanese author.
(I wrote a book about my experience and am working to spread awareness of the dangers of smartphone addiction.)
I'm so glad I switched to a dumbphone, and it scares me to think what would have happened if I had stayed addicted.
Smartphone addiction is that scary.
As smartphones have become more widespread, dumbphones have become a minority, but I've seen a lot of overseas news about dumbphones recently.
(This BBC video, as well as the New York Times and The New Yorker. Nokia's new dumbphone is also coming out.)
I'm really hoping that the merits of the dumbphone will be reevaluated.
Dumbphones are still a minority at the moment, but I hope more people will use them.
Please do another feature on dumbphones if you like!
I've still got a gara-kei
I recently bought a new dumbphone for use when i'm not working.. i still have to keep my smartphone for emergency work + business (the perils of having more than one job) but honestly i found using a dumbphone when i'm not working really brings back the simplicity of just enjoying life
I gave up Facebook and its so freeing.
Just delete all the social media apps and restrict the few apps you do need.
It’s not that easy
What I miss about dumb phones was the satisfaction of flipping open or slamming shut a flip phone. Other than that I’m happy with my smart phone. I am not addicted prehaps because I am old and was brought up before mobile existed.
"Let's cut back on screen time" says video posted on UA-cam. The irony.
No… I wouldnt
There’s another reason why they are persuading us to get these dumb phones
What ?
Absolutely yes
I wish there was one that had what's app and calls only. Anyone knows if there is one like that or near to that?
What I did is switch to a much less powerful budget smartphone. The slow response and loading times made me use it less.
You can give a smartphone to a child just use the technology the correct way there are controls on all smartphones where you can block or limit access to certain apps and the internet and even times during the day when the phone can be used while still allowing the child to make and receive phone call to Parents.
i have always had a dumb phone. i have my sisters old smart phone with no sim for wifi use when traveling only. no scrolling on a flip phone
I would but I require it for my sensor. I don't have any social media installed though
turned my iphone off two weeks ago and havent turned it back on; never plan on doing so either. highly recommend anyone to just try a day or two going without; the change you feel is immediate.
