Made this today and wow wow wow amazing!! I recently moved out of nyc and was homesick this food made it sooo much better delicious!! Making mire more this weekend lol
This looks great and I bet it tastes wonderful....most halal chicken and rice carts use a blend of shawarma and chicken tikka spice on the chicken that's the super red color of the chicken...I asked and was told this in New York and Philly. The Halal Guys red sauce is thick red pepper red chilli hot sauce with lemon juice instead of vinegar...

I'm not sure what you mean by removing liquid from the rice? You mean while cooking? Basmati rice typically doesn't take long to cook and I put just enough liquid in the rice based on the rice ratio. You'll have more info in the description box and video.
Oh, it could be the rice quality you're using. But if you use a good quality rice, always rinse and wash them till the water runs clear, and soak them for a few before cooking. And to get rid of that extra moisture, I just make sure they get fully cooked and the water is absorbed or evaporates. Then just leave the lid on and turn the gas off, this helps for the steam/moisture to rise and gets rid of extra moisture from the rice. That's what works for me so let me know if it does for you too.

Thank you for this recipe. I was trying to figure out how to make lunch with white rice and chicken breast so hopefully it’s still as good as your looks
Decided that I was going to make this yesterday, but still needed a few things. Went to the store forgot the chilies to make the sauce, so I tried your idea and used siracha instead. Added coriander, clove, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, cayenne, and water. It tastes just like the halal spot not far from home. Thank you❤ Only thing I messed up was the rice. I washed it several times until the water was clear, but I think I let it boil too long before turning the heat down. Turned out clumpy/mushy, but the flavor and color were good. Wanted to throw it out so bad, and try the rice again, but hopefully better luck next time.
Awww I'm so glad it was good for you. Try again next time on the rice when you make the chicken again. Thanks for letting me know on how it turned out. I appreciate it
Update: so I retried the rice. I rinsed it, cooked it properly. I check on it after turning the heat to realize it’s becoming mushy AGAIN. I check the packaging and the instructions says, soak for 15 min, and do not rinse.🤦🏾♀️Hopefully the 3rd time will be a charm….smh. Flavor wasn’t bad, but not as good as the first. But the texture was better🤷🏾♀️
@@rasway6700 are you allowing the rice to cook on low heat after the first boil? I'm not sure besides the rice package saying do not wash. It might be the type of rice you're using. Seems like an instant type of rice. See if you can find basmati rice. It should not be getting mushy so quickly unless it's an instant rice which is usually prewashed or also parboiled already.
@@WhatsCookingWithFariyal I believe it is even tho it doesn’t say instant. Just says soak for 15 mins and do not rinse. 10 min cook time. Mahatma basmati rice. Got it from Harris teeter lol.
