Have you tried using jasmine rice instead of basmati. All my rice dishes now I use jasmine and if I’m cooked a Thai curry I put fresh lime juice into the rice while it’s cooking best taste ever.
When I was studying in the us, well I was in Philly, I used to have this food every I go to NYC, and I LOVE it! And years later I’m back in China, tho we have so many food here but I miss this so much😢 glad I could find your video, and im gonna try make it, it’s not just food, it’s memory🎉
That looks good! I think the only thing you're missing is the hot sauce. I just got back from NYC. I didn't do Halal Guys (although I've had them before), because the line was too long. But we did stop at a couple of different food carts with chicken over rice (and lamb over rice), and they were both awesome. I was kinda surprised. But I guess they all do it the same way pretty much. I'm definitely going to start making this at home.
I have a Halal Guys Food restaurant here in NYC. BUT.. I made yours and it was BETTER!! The only thing I added was 2 tablespoons of dry Dill and grated cucumber to the white sauce and it was Fabulous!!! You Guys Rock!! I can make my favorite food at home now!! 😁😁😁
Great video. I live in NYC Halal Guys is the best, i think they use some MSG in the meat though i compensated by adding some mushroom powder a natural MSG. I tried your white sauce and its spot on just like halal guys i going to make the chicken for tomorrow can't wait to taste cause yours looks so yummy.
One additional step is after u cook the chicken and chop it up, add a couple tbsps of water to help scrape up and deglaze all the drippings and charred bits on the bottom of the pan. Then add your chick back in and sauté so it soaks up all that flavor and the water is evaporated.
After seeing this video today, immediately liked the vibe your family gives. Very warming and loving people you guys seem. ( I subscribed! ) I went out to buy the ingredients. I followed your exact recipe. Marinated the chicken/beef first, then made the sauce, then rice. Couldn't wait so after an hour of meat marination, I cooked the chicken. Anyways, it tasted delicious! My sons also liked it alot! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. I liked how you made this recipe simple and easy to follow. Also enjoyed how you broke it down by having each family member make something. Such a pleasure to watch. Much love from So Cal☺
This video was so good, I didn’t even recognize the ads! Excellent dish you guys. And baby is looking for his food, he smells it somewhere, lol. God Bless😇
Hahaha. Sorry but wrong!!!! I worked along Halal when they set up their carts. Halal is about simplicity/ they have no time to add all this stuff. No yogurt no sour cream. They used admiration Mayo- unfortunately admiration is usually sold in gallon jugs but for them, that is exactly what they need, large quantity. So if can get, do so. For testing here ya go: 1 cup admiration Mayo 1 teaspoon WHITE vinegar 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon (little more if needed for right consistency) of water. That’s it folks. Simple, just as they need to be giving the quantity they must produce daily. Please- no lime/lemon juice, no Greek yogurt, no sour cream, no fennel, no garlic powder- they DONT have time for all that stuff, but if all this extra is what you like so be it. If you want halal white sauce, recipe above! Peace! PS the ingredients listed in the little packets of their white sauce is different than what they make for the carts. So isn’t the taste.
what the fuck! to each his own. it's home cooking not commercialized. they wanted to share their own version and it depends on the viewers if they're going to try it or not on their own. keep your suggestion by yourself or make a video of what you know and share it to YT instead of critizing!
@@JunandKeshia I’m so sorry I could of worded that comment better. I’ve seen some vlogs from family vloggers who haven’t cleaned their bbq tools and then couldn’t understand why they’d got sick. So please accept my apology

Thanks!
how do you make the red sauce
Tip: Spray funnel with cooking spray. That will allow any food to slip through easily :)
Thanks for the tip! Will have to try that out next time
Oh yeah baby 😘
I let all the ads play so you could get the Adsense $ 😂
But it looks so good! 😋
Haha thanks cuz... need that money for some ramen 😂
This video was so good, I didn’t even recognize the ads! Excellent dish you guys. And baby is looking for his food, he smells it somewhere, lol. God Bless😇
Looks delicious. I want to give it a try! It’s nice you all split up the work. Maybe my hubs and I can make it together.
Junn where's the AMSR??😄
Mo buttah mo bettah
Scrape the white sauce into a zip lock bag cut the corner squeeze it out into your bottle.
Just askin, ABSOLUTELY NOT making a big deal of it but in order to toast the rice it has to be unwashed right?
Great recipe but missing a ton. You're missing Garam Masala, Allspice, Cardamom and more..
Thanks for the suggestions. What “more” should I add?
First

Lol uhmm
Lol............Why is their white sauce infamous?
It's Call Chicken OVER Rice not Chicken and Rice
I hope you washed your tongs after you switched your chicken over and when you cooked your steak. It’s cross contamination for sure.
🤦🏻♀️
Of course we did. Just didn’t think it would be necessary to include us washing dishes in the video
