  • With two lion prides occupying the same territory at Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa, the resulting scenario occurred. Watch as the stronger of the two prides capture a cub from the other pride and kill it, to ensure the continuation of their own genes.

    Oh my God, poor baby, and poor mommy, to come back and see her baby like that. I don't care what people say. I know that she was grieving. There's no question. Props to the lead lioness for keeping the others away but, the damage was already done.

    The male lion (daddy) could have stepped in but the lioness may or may not have backed down from injuring the cub, so it’s really strange how the behave sometimes, why the cub didn’t run when it had a chance who knows there are a lot of strange things that happen in this life, lot of unanswered questions too

    The jeep or car was actually able to help the innocent poor cub by dispersing the pride and picking up the cub when the situation is safe, instead of watching the tragedy like an entertaining show. The man made rule " no intervention " is a trash comparing to the precious life of the species which is on the edge of extinction.

      Lucky, these people only help themselves and no other creatures....they advocate "nature" but when they are in trouble they would seek help from any source. That is called selfishness....

    The only time humans are able to intervene, at this Wildlife Reserve, is when an animal is injured or dies due to a man made device. For instance a trap/snare. The only other time is if there is a rabid dog that's incoherently wandering about. As rabid dogs can infect other wildlife, in particular Wild Dogs. Otherwise they let Mother Nature take Her course. If you intervene too much, you 1 change the behaviour of the wildlife and that may not be to their ultimate benefit. And 2 unless you know what you're doing 100% you could cause a catastrophic imbalance in the wildlife/ecosystem which would lead to its ultimate decline and possible destruction🐾

    • @bigtreesfall
      @bigtreesfall 6 років тому +1

      Fiona P .....Yup, so humans cause the dire situations out there by farming, mining and building on the land, but "but can't intervene" when faced with the results of their land grab. 👍 got it.

    • @trankt54155
      @trankt54155 6 років тому +1

      Fiona, what if people like tourists (or even local villagers) wander off and got eaten? Should they be saved because it is "Mother Nature" afterall and everything is natural.....the lions need to eat and it is fair that people should also be eaten? Why do we need to be treated any different since we are part of the ecosystem---or are we too selfish and we only help ourselves?

      @@trankt54155 I agree. We as ppl r as much a part of the ecosystem. We as ppl r in a position to help, so we should always help. Yet we have too many ignorant ppl that can't seem to grasp the concept beyond their limited ability to think. So in all fairness, those that say not to intervene because it's part of mother nature; then when u need help, no one should intervene, because ur part of mother nature. That's pure stupidity, only stupid ppl think that.

    • @peterj.a.7902
      @peterj.a.7902 5 років тому +1

      @@bigtreesfall I agree. Growing up, I was a boy scout. We were taught many essential survival skills. We were taught to respect the land, to respect mother nature & the ecosystem. To be one with nature. One of our scout masters was an Vietnam veteran, he pointed out that human intervention has caused many problems to the wildlife. We build cities where the animals live. We're not one with nature. So we've caused the problems. That if we're ever in a position to help, then we should help. All of us boy scouts would be in our late 40s, early 50s, but I guarantee u, any member of our troop would have stepped in & helped. We were taught that, it was ingrained in us. We had a scout master that was a war veteran, so we were highly disciplined, & highly trained. We were taught to step in when others won't, to go above & beyond; to do the right thing, & be the better person. I will always stand by that standard & I know many others of like mind, they will too. Not this bullshit & ignorance that's prevalent nowadays.

    That was terrible.
    What separates us from animals is our compassion for ourselves and other creatures in need.
    We no longer have humans (gladiators) fighting with lions so we can watch for fun because it is simply cruel. We also ban cock and dog fightings as a civilized society.
    Some people would say it is "nature," and I could reply that when you see someone driven off the road and lying there in a ditch dying you don't say, "Well, that is nature," but you would stop and render help.....just like you should render help to any creature that needs that help...like that small young lion with a broken back....

    To be honest if u find injured lions and broken back lions and Cubs u should help them I don't believe the wild is wild anymore the wild is where no humans are and no tourist visiting them if u really are gonna say let nature take it's course then humans must leave the wild and let the animal kingdom be as nature made it to be but no humans like watching animanls kill or hurt each other sit there and film them but it's different once a human is attacked aye you feel it it aye I feel for all things in life animals humans sea creatures we are all part of life the world be a better place if we looked after each other but as for nature humans broke the animals circle of life the moment we intervend and put wild animals into human zoos for animals they have predators who keep the animal balance population down by feeding on plant eaters like buffalo and impalas where the animals that don't eat animals just eat and populate that to me is balance of life one to take one to give as where humans have overpopulated over planet Earth to the point one day there will be to many of us on Earth and earth food resources deplete we will become animals are self just like are cavemen ancestors we are fine now due to overflowing food water we have today and have managed to make a lifetime easier every 100 years but in many years there will be no resources left once power fuel food water goes we humans will become Savage like a animal and hunt for food and possibly go cannablism again like cavemen did as well

    Thanks for sharing, but a rather sad story and a bit of an inducement of lions brain power. In summary, the 2 Lions simply watched as one of their harem. /pride killed their own offspring, albeit by a lioness of another pride. They really are impressively dumb.
