    I like the Trush turbo mufflers. Used them back in the ‘80s, then went through my Flowmaster phase through the ‘90s but have found myself going back to good ‘ole old school Thrush lol.

      They are a good bargain muffler and I like how they sound as well! It’s got to be good if it’s been around that long lol.

      @@Andrewactual I had them on my 1971 Chevelle back in the ‘80s, and I ran off the road and trashed my exhaust. Took it to a shop in The Plains, Virginia in 1988 to have the exhaust completely redone and those redneck fools installed glasspacks! I was PISSED. Did not take me long to rip them off and reinstall Thrush Turbo Mufflers.
      The thing is though, I can’t stand turbo mufflers on 5.0 H.O engines. I prefer chambered mufflers like Flowmaster or Mac on Mustangs. But love turbo mufflers on other stuff.

    incredible
    I'm from Mexico and I have one,
    although over the vears it has
    become somewhat outdated, is it very common in the USA to have one?

      It is not common. I’m always on the lookout for a ZR2 on the road and I haven’t seen one in a couple years.

    Great looking Blazer! Glad to see you have electric fans, that helps out a lot by freeing the motor up from that old clutch fan. I have a s10 zr2 that I need to redo the exhaust on. I added a 250 amp alternator and had to replace the belt and tensioner.

    I know it’s an suv so probably not too great, but how was it on gas in the city sand then on he highway too? I’m kind of thinking about one but I don’t want to kill myself too bad on gas

    • @Andrewactual
      @Andrewactual  Рік тому +1

      I didn’t own it long enough to give you a real answer but I know that engine is a solid little engine, they put them in tons of vehicles and it’s quite reliable. I feel like if you get a vehicle that is better on gas it will suffer in places I care about like how it drives with a load, does it have 4x4, can it tow even a small trailer. I think if you actually run the numbers on gas between say one of these or a Cherokee with the 4.0, the numbers will show negligible esp when you consider these suv can actually get you into and out of places vs getting stuck on wet grass.

    Man this ZR2 model is stunning 🤩, always loved the white with the the charcoal trim/accents. These ZR2 models are starting to come out of their low price window. Over the coming 5-10 years prices will explode for low mileage and original examples. 10 years from now you will get a lot of $$$$$$ for this thing.

      They are very stout feeling as a small suv compared to what the manufacturers put out these days, no frames, unibodies. I definitely love the larger tires and fender flares on the ZR2s. I rarely see them around.

    Hello Andrew, another interesting video, you might even have better Gas clearing with the new exhaust system. Do like your new Eastwing Ball hammer, I was doing work for a large Ford Truck dealership and saw what a snapped cam belt did to a quite new Ford Diesel van engine, bits of crank and piston sticking out of the block. A right off. Very good video. Will look out for more, please keep them coming. Geoff Lewis, Wales, UK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Are you going to do more videos? I have a 2000, would love to see more...always needing more ideas. Do you ever seen to come across the rear swing away tire holder?? I can't seem to find one used, and mine is not the zr2 unfortunately, but I definitely want the rear spare.

      Bryan Fain I have a couple more small projects recorded that I’ll edit and post, maybe some more blazer stuff to come in the future! I’ve come across three of those tire carries on blazers in the pick and pull up the road. If you haven’t checked them out look up Wilco tire carriers, it might be an option for you!

    I have a 2005 Chevy ZR2 2 door that is red and was my daughters, now its mine and I'm wanting to replace the front driver side fender flares. Can you direct me as to where you received your parts from?

    • @Andrewactual
      @Andrewactual  4 роки тому +1

      Joan Thakker fender flares are probably the hardest part to replace. Of the ZR2 I have seen in junk yards, most of the fender flares are broken or so brittle they will break when you are fighting the rusted retainer ring. Online they go for a couple hundred $$$ new. You might be best off trying to patch and repaint what is currently on there! I repainted these flares with the rustoleum bed liner from Lowe’s and they turned out really nice and durable.

      @@Andrewactual Thank You, I will try that I also need to find a way to move the front driver side tire back. When the tire people my daughter went to in SC to put on new tires, they did something to the front that is causing the driver side tire to touch the inner fender flare and is now cracked in two places only holding on by the bolt it has. After I figure out how to move the tire back so its not hitting it, I need to repair the broken flare, any suggestions on how I can do this?

    • @Andrewactual
      @Andrewactual  4 роки тому +1

      Joan Thakker the upper control arm has the cam bolts to adjust caster which if way out of alignment it could bring the wheel to the rear of the fender well. You may start by taking it to get the alignment checked and I always ask for the print out so I can understand what’s going on with the suspension. A lot of times they just tell you it’s good and try to send you on your way because they don’t actually understand it either unless you actually talk to THE alignment person. If you have the stock sized 31x10.5” tires on stock wheel offset there shouldn’t be any rubbing especially to the point you’re describing.
