Glad you explained your expectations. Kind of an expensive FMJ. It's still fun to see what might have been....
I fire 168 grain in my 30 Herrett a lot with great accuracy and am getting velocity real close to the 300 Blackout ctg ! Mostly Hornady and Sierra bullets !
Barnes lists a minimum of 2000fps impact velocity to open this bullet.
Amazing video looks like so much fun! Fort scott munitions has some tumble upon impact projectiles in 308 for sale in 150 and 168 those would be super cool to see!
My reasoning being that their performance is not expansion dependent I forgot to put that in there
@@leemiller5194 I had several in this last set that were tumbling. One of the Hornady 180gr BTSP was pretty impressive. 😂
@@kentuckyrangetime hahaha amazing lol
110 tac x from barnes will do the yob
Could be hitting in the other wound tacks cause it to not expand
Why don't you remove blue tip from that TTSX bullet and try again? Shooting these bullets without tip should result in faster and greater expansion, producing better hydrostatic shock.
Wow.
Help bullet key chain mr.
Definitely a disappointment. I've talked to Barnes about this bullet and they claimed 1.7x expansion down to 1500 fps impact velocity. I think that properly calibrated 10% ballistic ordinance gel is a bit tougher than any of the clear ballistics products so it MIGHT open up more at those velocities and leave a decent wound track if you were to buy some knox gel and repeat the test in that medium. Other Barnes bullets shot into proper ballistics gels seem to expand when they're closer to their minimum threshold (less than 100 fps) than you were to the low end of this bullet, but I haven't seen any tests with this specific bullet in that medium so I would steer clear of them if you're intending them for 300 Blk or extended ranges where impacts will be below 2000 fps.
Would be interested in "your" CBTO and grains of Lil'Gun.
@@thelarry6864 let me get back to the shop and I’ll take a look 😉

14.5gr Lil Gun and
OAL of 2.26.
As always work back up to that in your gun. 😉
@@kentuckyrangetime Absolutely Brother! Been handloading/shooting for a bit, but, I have yet to load some 300BO, but I'm gonna. Thx for the recipe.
@@kentuckyrangetime Thank You. I just happen to have various TTSX weights in .30 Cal.
