    I have fond memories of Marble Canyon. Limping back from Dawson City with a head gasket issue on our 17 year old, 400,000 kilometer tow vehicle we met a retired auto mechanic in that exact campground who put my mind to rest about being able to make it home (northern Vancouver Island). I only wish getting us and the camper off (and back on) Vancouver Island wasn't so expensive so we could do mini road trips like this one for you more often. Not only do you mostly waste a travel day, you empty your wallet for the ferry fare.

      We never stayed at Marble Canyon itself, but we do love doing a short trip where we can loop this way or around via Kamloops. Keep on eye on Fare Savers for BC Ferries…we have had a few trips where costs were about half, but that also was off season and off hours.

      @@hikenrv I hear you, we plan date, time of day, whatever gets us a discount on the ferry. Health reasons have us out of the teardrop and into an older high top camper van so no surcharge for length going forward...

    Great video, loved the music! Sometimes it’s fun to travel by the seat of your pants. Much easier to do earlier in the season. Finch is adorable.

    It seems your cat has really adapted to the van! I remember when you first got her, she seemed quite anxious about the whole thing. Now she travels like a pro, just like her parents. 👍

      Haha, well not always quite as smooth as it seems…either for Finch or us. We leave out the awkward bits😊, And yes Finch (he actually) much calmer overall and in someways seems to quite enjoy. Still, he prefers it when we are camped and no heavy rain! Guess we do too!

    I never get tired of seeing waterfalls and hearing the rushing water. What a beautiful drive, and didn't look too crowded yet.

      It is a wonderful drive! Nairn Falls campground was close to full shortly after we arrived. Surprised us given it was still May, but we did see several rental RVs while heading there and several at the sites as well…so tourists arriving adding to the local visitors like ourselves.

    When I saw Pemberton I knew it would be Nairn, love the place. Great if you can get close to the river for great sleeps.

    Next trip…check out Desert Hills ranch in Ashcroft for great prices on farm fresh produce, and their authentic taco stand just outside of Cache Creek, on the way to beautiful Green Lake :)

      OK, we will! Appreciate the recommendation! We have driven past several times and that Taco stand has been very tempting. As we recall they have some large areas where can RVs can park too.

    We will have to check out the bakery in Ashcroft and Fort Berens. Have you been to The Rolling Pin in Hope yet? What are your plans for the summer? Nancy

      We will add the Rolling Pin to our list as well! Right now we are Alberta bound and enjoying BC as we cross.

    Nice winging. We stayed at that Seton Hydro campsite when we visited friends in Lillooet. Have you ever done the Joffree lakes hike?

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  5 місяців тому +1

      🙏 Seton has often worked well for us as well…it was actually 27c that day there. Yes, we have done Joffre a few times…but rarely now so busy. Did get a nice backpack there a few years ago though ua-cam.com/video/wwS71VLqd8g/v-deo.htmlsi=HpryhW4xN7NxI6uO

    No bear spray?

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  5 місяців тому

      Good question, but we don’t often use locally. That said alway cautious..and we made lots of noise. We may use bear spray there more in the future though as the area now has grizzlies on occasion.
