I love how the animals you saved at the end of Super Matriod, end up saving you here. Which makes sense since this takes place right after Super Metroid.
Metroids are the natural enemies of the X-Parasites. The SA-X knew that it's brethren were in grave danger and it was the only X with the firepower necessary to stand a chance against the Omega Metroid. But SA-X was still weakened from it's fight with Samus and knew it couldn't defeat the Omega Metroid on it's own. So, as it's last act, it let Samus absorb it. Perhaps it saw Samus as a worthy opponent, perhaps it felt some respect for her.
When you acquire the Ice Beam by absorbing the SA-X, yeah it's really easy. But given that it almost one-shot Samus before the SA-X intervened, it's actually the most powerful creature on-board the B.S.L. Research Station. Not Yakuza, not Nightmare, not even Neo-Ridley could do that much damage to her in one swipe.
No matter how old I get, I still remember being 9 yrs old playing this game when it 1st came out and being awed by its story, gameplay, the heroes and enemies. Definitely one of my all time favorite games.
The space station was in self destruct mode. The initial explosion of the self destruct sequence causes a reaction with all the other nuclear and technological materials on the station to cause a much MUCH bigger explosion. It's not impossible.
I love the ending to Fusion. You know that Samus will now be a targeted bounty hunter, but what she did is something that only a few like Adam will understand. Samus also hopes that one day humanity will understand her actions. What was awesome bout the ending is that Adam is forever the A.I. of Samus' ship and the creatures that helped Samus from the past will still be with her at the end. Really cool how Adam got them to control the ship when the Omega Metroid evolved from its larva.
It seems like the Screw Attack Samus gets from Neo Ridley is simply an energy field Samus can USE as a Screw Attack(Remember, Neo Ridley never uses the Screw Attack himself) while the original Screw Attack was legit designed as a weapon and advanced movement system.
Metroid fusions is supposed to be the farthest along in the metroid series chronologically. I really hope they continue the story from fusion for the next metroid game. i wonder if metroid dread's really been picked up again.
@vongo221 The funny thing is that this is the last game in the Metroid chronology and is intended to be the final end of the saga, so if they wanted to they actually could have done that! :0
Chdonga I could see that working. You could fight the SA-X like normal, but then the Omega Metroid could show up in the middle of that battle, "kill" the SA-X, its core X would escape and you'd then have to defeat the Omega Metroid. After this, the SA-X could come back and re-form for one final round, and once you defeat it this time, it's down for good and you can absorb it. This'd effectively eliminate both the SA-X and the Omega Metroid, and it would make for a way, way more awesome battle too. Then, when you're about to the docking bays after setting the station to collide with SR388, Ridley could come out of nowhere in a surprise attack, maybe grab you and crash through a wall, and you'd fall down into the reactor core, and the final battle against him would take place in the huge main shaft room. The fact that you're fighting Ridley in a vertical shaft could even be seen as a homage to Super Metroid. Then, once Ridley's dust, you'll still need to beat the clock and get back to your ship in time. Maybe at that point, the station would be entering the planet's atmosphere, burning up as a result, and things would be falling apart and exploding around you during your final rush... I dunno, for the final game in the timeline, I think the finale could have been a whole lot more intense. I mean, this is the end to the timeline lol, it needs to go out with a serious bang. 3 back-to-back boss fights (SA-X, Omega Metroid and then SA-X again), then a surprise final battle against Ridley (really, it makes more sense having him as the final boss of the series, since he is basically Samus's ultimate nemesis. Even if it's just an X copying him, it's still him in some way) and then the final rush to save yourself before everything's obliterated...that's pretty much the best way they could have ended it, I think. They could still have had the plot element of the animals starting up the ship and returning the favor to Samus for saving them back on Zebes, too...just say the ship slid out of the docking bay during all the chaos and fell into space, and they started it up and Adam piloted it back to the station just in the nick of time to save Samus.
***** Eh.... I'm thinking that they thought that scenario that you mention would not fit into the time constraints of the 3 minutes until impact. If they made it so that the timer did not start until Ridley's boss fight, THAT would have been a better idea.
Christopher Kidwell Oh, certainly not. I was imagining that the timer would begin after defeating Ridley. The station would take longer than 3 minutes to actually hit the planet, and after you take down Ridley, you enter into the final 3 minutes of the station's descent. Alternatively, they could simply give a timer of 5-7, possibly 8 minutes, after setting the station's impact course. That should be more than enough.
Fake Samus is a clone/mimic of real Samus, and it doesn't need to upgrade, it's already at full power, which is why you are forced to avoid/run from it throughout the game.
man i miss this game, one of my favorite fights ever, back in the day when there wasnt no big cinemas and meachnics, just mano e mano but whoopin =3, this gam played so old school for something new
LOL! i love how every metroid game ends with an epic escape from wherever the game is set while it explodes. and the ridley fight music is always played
This game was such a remix of Super Metroid, down to its ending. It seems all the Metroids always go back to Super Metroid for its nostalgia, instead of try to do something worth nostalgia in themselves.
@potro823 that was the SA-X. the X parasite that infected Samus and took her powers, and to get those powers back she needed to kill SA-X. in the end, SA-X was the one who saved samus's life from the Omega Metroid.
The ending is pretty much like Super Metroid. We first begin with a ennemy that hurt but then,it help you after getting extremly hurt at the final boss and give their power after their sacrifice.
Except this enemy that hurt you before is probably thinking less "I need to help this person who I've been chasing throughout the game" and more "METROID! KILL IT!"
Yes its a metorid. When the Leviathan hit Tallon IV, a Tallon IV metroid (a typical metroid found in most of the games) was chosen to gaurd the impact crater, and all of it's phazon exposure led to it's infinate phazon creation ability. Then, it removed the phazon suit and some DNA from Samus, which created what we all know to be Dark Samus.
You can also hide on this one little line to the far right of the screen and use morph ball and when his mouth opens run under and pumel him with missiles.
samus looks so sick with a code i put in the AR, it made her suit look black and red, but it was only cosmetic so there was nothing i could really use except just admire it
@Bruno1986BR Literally a few minutes before I read your comment, I was actually thinking of writing a fanfic in the form of Samus's log, with entries every one or two days, starting from when she escaped the BSL. I wanted to send it in to Nintendo and see if they could make it canon. But I don't know if Nintendo would do that, and they're already making Metroid 5 anyway.
you know there's a way to charge/fire faster, you just charge, and to release, simply tap "R", which will allow you to charge again w/out having to fire a basic shot. It also lets you fire midair easily.
@BrunoSan1986 I actually came up with a pretty good follow-up to Fusion btw. Samus returns to explain to the scientists about the unfortunate but necessary destruction of the lab. After they understand that it was necessary for the X's destruction, Samus leaves, only to find an unbeatable X destroying that lab. Samus almost dies (after having tried to use everything possible) when a Metroid comes out of nowhere and destroys the X. The adventure will start when that Metroid powers up her beam
Nintendo has to makje a Metroid game that happens after Fusion. I doubt that the X parasite was completely obliterated. There must be some remais os SR388 that has some X's DNA or something like that... but surelly there are more Space Colonies that have metroids
even though they tried to create another super metroid like ending, nothing beats the metroid hatchling saving samus's life in super metroid, that was just epic. and mother brain learned you dont piss samus aran off,
Although the game doesn't tell you what Samus' new suit is, you can find out by beating metroid prime on hard mode to unlock the fusion suit (the suit Samus wears in metroid fusion). When you have the phazon suit and you use the fusion suit it looks exactly like the one samus obtains from the SA-X.
Meta-Ridley was buildt before that. Metroid Zero Mission is a remake of the original metroid, and Meta-Ridley is the final boss of it's extended storyline.
And in the Super Metroid they show you what you need to do to get out of a certain place in the game, and at the end, you have the chance to rescue them.
@gatchiLP69 I like that they haven't made one that comes after Fusion. It's as if they screwed themselves when they gave her the fusion suit and just don't want to deal with that part of the story again.
@Riflemanm16a2 Thanks for catching that, that was a mistake on my part. I know Metroid 2 comes before, but I guess I just mixed up the order by accident...
The plot line of Metroid fusion is that Samus was infected by the X parasite and fell unconscious. Her suit had be surgically removed as a result but the X parisite in it took it over and became SA-X. Samus meanwhile was given vaccine made from Metroids to purge the X parasite out of her but as result became part Metroid. The Metroids and X parasite were natural enemies which is why SA-X went down to hunt her.
Yeah I think the bird thing is called "Dodora", but I'm not sure if that's right. And there is now also a baby bird (you could see the egg in Super Metroid)
+MarcusObrian it simple cause if SA-X not destroy Omega Metroid it will evolve to queen metroid.Once evolve to Queen metroid the queen can reproduce entire metroid race again to hunt down X parasite
ShadowDariusEX I see...So it was self preservation? Hmmm...Still if it was smart it would let it kill samus then kill it its self. All though...I wonder...Is it possible that it saved samus as a sort of scorched earth thing? You know...Maybe it saved samus just incase it failed to kill the metroid and when the SA-X was on its last legs it would let samus absorb it to finish its main goal. That is after all what happened...It did fail to kill the metroid and samus had to finish it.
The X attacked the Omega Metroid because X and Metroids are natural enemies, SA-X didn't want to save Samus, she just did it because SA-X thought that the Omega Metroid was her priority enemy at that moment (which results in her death lol)
Actually, The first Metroid Prime was launch in the same time as Metroid Fusion and, if you connect Fusion with Prime, That make you able to use the Fusion Suit in Prime. So they are made to be together.
plus the fact that it was an x, and the metroids feed on the x, i think, so the x that had samus's power suit basically had a chance to eliminate a threat to its life
1 is samus and the other is samus-x or SA-X basically it's Samus' psychopathic X parasite double with all of Samus' abilities, no mercy, no regret, and kills anything and everything without hesitation, you run into it numerous times in the game and are basically hiding from it or running like hell with it chasing you. essentially it can be likened to Samus' blood thirst evil twin.
@dragonslayerED30 If memory serves me correctly, this was made for the GBA back when the SNES was or already had died out pretty much. I could be wrong though.
First, shoot Nightmare's gravity generator(the structure underneath him) then once he starts manipulating gravity, keep shooting the generator. Next, his faceplate will come off and he will start to drift toward you. Get to the ladder on the left and shoot his face. Once he is about to hit you, dodge him by using space jump and leave room to move around. Keep repeating until the Core-X is left. Sorry if this is too late.
@BrunoSan1986 There are still plenty of unclear moments after Fusion. You are unsure if the X is truly killed, nor do you know if the Metroids are truly extinct. They still need to clear things up before taking a huge plot change like that.
Varia Suit you say? She gains the functionality of both the Varia and Gravity suits over the course of the game and they're both active in her Fusion suit for this entire video. What she never gets back in Fusion, is her Power suit.
It's likely the Sa-x had Samus memories of fighting Metroids, it probably knew that Samus would fight the Metroid and have no way off the station without her ship as long as that Metroid was there. It probably knew the station was going to explode too, maybe it was also hitching on the idea that it wouldn't be totally destroyed by Samus' body, or maybe it was influenced by the memory of the Metroid protecting Samus from mother brain; technically in a weird way she was, it's a mother. In the end, it probably had no choice but to fight the Metroid, for one reason or another; inaction would gain it nothing.
That is true... but the reason is probably more because the SA-X and metroids are natural enemies... In the game it is said that Metroids naturally feed on the SA-X.
Because the x can not kill metroid, metroid are the predators towards the x. So the only way that the x can kill the metroid is to aid/ heal Samus and kill it.
kneel down on the left hand corner not completely on the corner cuz that is where the fire lands, right in front of it shoot the mouth when this thing comes out
@starrodkirby1 What bomb? She was going to send the station onto low orbit so I'd burn up, destroying the X. And you'd think she'd be used to timed escapes by now.
While its nice that the X gives you all your powers back, including the ice beam...Unfortunately, you only use it in the final boss battle since you can only save before the battle...
@marounne yep they are, in a part of metroid fusion the computer found supervivors signals and they were those animals, and it says something like "Oh i already met the Etecoons and the Dachoras on a blablabla..."... so lololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololcheesselolololol

How does a Space Station blow up an entire planet?

B.S.L. was almost the size of a planet.
The space station was in self destruct mode. The initial explosion of the self destruct sequence causes a reaction with all the other nuclear and technological materials on the station to cause a much MUCH bigger explosion. It's not impossible.

I have fond memories of this game. A classic.
Actually, The first Metroid Prime was launch in the same time as Metroid Fusion and, if you connect Fusion with Prime, That make you able to use the Fusion Suit in Prime. So they are made to be together.
@FRICKINGUY It's the leftovers of the prior form the Omega Metroid had before it evolved to its final form.
plus the fact that it was an x, and the metroids feed on the x, i think, so the x that had samus's power suit basically had a chance to eliminate a threat to its life
It was a surprise for all who beaten the original game fast enough.
1 is samus and the other is samus-x or SA-X basically it's Samus' psychopathic X parasite double with all of Samus' abilities, no mercy, no regret, and kills anything and everything without hesitation, you run into it numerous times in the game and are basically hiding from it or running like hell with it chasing you. essentially it can be likened to Samus' blood thirst evil twin.
man i just realized who those guys where in the end the i forgot their names but the guys who taught samus to wall jump etc from super metroid
this was the first metroid game I ever played =] My favorite one still
@dragonslayerED30 If memory serves me correctly, this was made for the GBA back when the SNES was or already had died out pretty much.
They still need to clear things up before taking a huge plot change like that.
the best ending on my gameboy EVER!
oh yeah i remember this game, really brings me back, the ending.
@GreenDay5600 The Sax's appearance is what Samus normally looks like.
5:39 did the animal moving samus ship???
Because the x can not kill metroid, metroid are the predators towards the x. So the only way that the x can kill the metroid is to aid/ heal Samus and kill it.
Dude, you play awesomely good
@Royart142
Also the planet the station crashes into in this game is SR388
Exactly. Not to mention that after the event of this game she is most likely a wanted fugitive in the eyes of the federation.
kneel down on the left hand corner not completely on the corner cuz that is where the fire lands, right in front of it shoot the mouth when this thing comes out
by "latest" he meant last, as in it took place late in the series, rather than early
I think that Fusion is chronologically the last Metroid game in the timeline.
The second stage of the battle is what would happen if Venom came in contact with Samus.
@starrodkirby1
What bomb?
I remember this boss fight being so hard and you did it so easily
SuperGameGuy, How is it hard?
lol its funny you charge your bearms whereas i do not have the patience so i rather just rapid relentless button mash and also use the ball barrier jump thing, but damn SAX really was a terrifying and really fun to kill boss!!
wuts up w/ that part in this game when the computer system talks to that guy. (I'm sorry if Im sounding vague, I gave away all my gba games like 2 years back but now i want em back!)
@marounne yea those are the same animals you save at the end of super metriod cool right
so where did that metroid come from like i know it wasnt taken over by an ex parasite it was a clone that got away or somthing from that lab pretty cool that somthing jelly looking can turn into that
I wonder if Sa-X is kirby. It can mimic almost anything. Except, it doesn't have to "eat" the thing it wants to mimic.
I always wondered what the red door in sector 4 was for before nightmare destroyed it.
