Louie FYI the the extra parts in the kit are left over from the 67 and 68 Galaxy models the 69 was done as a promo with a one peace chassis great model building you do
Dan Doane is the man! He's been a good friend of mine for over 15 years. The fastback roof was available in the first two issues, then disappeared until the AMT/Ertl reissue in 1989. The stock hardtop made its first appearance in the second issue kit (1966). The superior Drag City Casting hardtop is mastered off of the AMT Trophy Jr/Craftsman 57 Tbird kit. I did a review of the 2023 issue that can be found on the Model Cars Magazine forum, along with my buildup.
Thank you for an excellent video. I owned a real 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 XL GT hardtop that was black with Gold stripes and a black/white interior, all finished off with the 429 engine. I'm glad that they included the GT stripes as I had to order my gold stripes from Kieth Marks. I don't know how flimsy these are, but I would suggest cutting them at the front of the doors to make the easier to handle. Also the flat style mags from the 66 Fairlane are a good representation for the 69 For GT mag hubcaps. I really do enjoy your videos and the information that you include. Keep them coming.
Thank you!! I like building mostly from the box using regularly accessible materials. I don’t build for model contests. Just to make a really nice piece you could be proud of. I appreciate your kind words. Thank you for watching. Happy Modeling.
ALRIGHT DUDE!!! That is thinking outside of the (model) box! You did what they forgot! Great job on bashing out those wheels Man! Being creative when the situation is called for. Real sharp looking build! Thank You for sharing with Us here on the tube! Happy Modeling! Later
I just ordered this kit yesterday and suppose to get it by tomorrow night. You have some cool stuff to help you paint your kits with, like that spinner thing that holds the body, when you spray it. I won't do the drag version. I'd go stock or somewhere in between. Excellent job!
Very nice 😎 awesome build. I always paint my body last only because I'm testing it everything and making sure that everything fits after the interiors all done the chassis and the engines all done wheels and tires are mounted on the chassis then paint your body and put the decals on now that you know that everything fits properly that's what I always do. But I would do I would get out the interior tub eliminate the passenger seat and the backseat if you're making a drag I would get another kit to put more bumble bee stripes on all-in-all I really love your build you did an awesome job
Nice job on your Galaxie Louie. I built the original issue of that kit back in 1969. it was not a promo style kit back then. I don't know why Round2 put the interior & chassis pan back to a promo style. This is why the extra parts are in the kit.
I bet that Bumbles really rumbles... Great build video again, like that you showed wheel fix and always dig when you make it the box art. Hope someone can make original chassis and interior available someday... Small video tip at the start when you do show the box art, the shiny boxes give heavy reflection - so wonder is there a way to relocate the halo light during that? Take care Louie.
Thank you for watching!! I have been struggling with that lighting problem. I’m thinking about trying a different round back light. It’s tough on a shoestring budget though. I have my producer (my wife 😆) looking at some other options. I do appreciate the feedback always. Thanks again. Happy modeling!!
@@TheAutisticModeler figured you checked it out, hope there's a way to mount it to one side while doing the review. Really good - well done videos you two!
Another thing that I would do also that I forgot to mention to you if you use the 65 and 66 Ford Galaxie chassis if you look at the 69 chassis and the 65 and 66 chassis they are the same but you would have to lengthen the 65 and 66 chassis to fit the 69 body I've done it and it's real simple maybe you can try that on your next build if you build another 69 Galaxy
Good tip, if I was building this for myself I would of upgraded the chassis. But one of the stipulations from Round 2 is to use only what the kit comes with.
Another great build Louie! Those extra parts from the interior and chassis date from when this was the 1967 Galaxie. I have the last boxing of the '69 Galaxie from almost 20 years ago, and it has the molded in seats and one piece chassis. I don't have the 68 or the original 69 issue to know if they were separate parts or molded in.
Louie FYI the the extra parts in the kit are left over from the 67 and 68 Galaxy models the 69 was done as a promo with a one peace chassis great model building you do
This has to be one of my favorites! Its so perfect it looks like a diecast model.

Love your builds. You show people you can build kits with out all the fancy tools and supplies

Looks great Louie!!
The kit looks like a very nice one. Good job building it, and is was nice to do a “box art” build. Thanks for sharing.
Great build thanks for sharing ! ✌Canada✌

Great info. on the kit, thanks for posting.
That body reminds me of my 71 Plymouth Fury i used to have back in the eatly 2000s
Thanks for the vid. Btw: the kit is a reissue
@28:15 I thought I was going to get poked in the eye by your brush! Awesome build!!
Sorry about that!! I just switched to this new camera angle and still getting used to it. 😆. Happy Modeling!!
cool kit built by a cool dude!!
Incredible build and presentation Louie! Well done 👏
Very nice I've seen a few other kits that had random parts in them like that
I always love watching you build, you're very talented. Build looks amazing. And i learned about heat treatment!
Thank you for watching. I really enjoy your comments. I love that I can teach at the same time. Happy Modeling!!
Awesome looking kit. You did a great job with the build, thanks for sharing!!
Nice job mate.
Thank you for watching!! Happy Modeling

Nice detail those colors all go well together!
Nice build!!

I compared it with my 2004 issue(blue car on the box lid) I have and it doesn’t have any of the extra seats and stuff.
Those slicks are very old mpc out of the mpc funny car kits
Cutting the hood wopuld go quicker if you use the back of the #11 blade!!!
Is that a Drag Car?
Yes, I made mine into a drag car. 😀
As a drag crazed 8 year -old I built my '68 as a ludicrous drag car.
Too heavy to be competitive! Surely !

Why do you paint the body 1st? You don't even show the fitment of the body to the frame / lower floor pan. We all know kit is perfect
I just do it that way. I can usually tell right away if something is not going to fit right.
