For the water level in those tanks... you should mark them with 5gl 10gl will be annoying at first but once you do it will be worth it to know exact amount!!

In Singapore, majority of the Reefers uses tap water w dechlorinator such as Prime or Safe for their Reef tanks. I'm just in awe seeing their SPS thrives with just tap! Here in NY, it's totally different.

Good job with the big water system stand, I recently got my water making/mixing station up too in the garage, and have it plumbed through the walls and OMG! Having a hose where the tank is that I can just grab turn a valve and poof saltwater, or freshwater, so great. I will say that I may have to steal your idea of the clear tubing to determine water level though, absolutely brilliant idea... better than just knocking on the side of the container and getting a feel for where about the water is. FYI if you do pump it up you can get remote controlled outlets really cheap, so you can just press a button while you're next to the tank you're servicing with water without having to trudge back and forth.
So jealous of all the species specific tanks though, something I would do here except California electricity rates will make me go broke very quickly. :D

And to my surprise we have the same exact sailfin mollies 💛 I just had a drop of about 45 to 50 fry in one of my tanks🌿 Did I hear you correct at the beginning with the big tank is going to be planted? I guess I could check? Dah!😂 I have 8 planted tanks and a pond tub with a group of Kohaku Koi Swordtail and all my tanks have fancy swordtail. Thanks looking great!💜💚

I love your videos Jake. I had a quick questions...what species of corals can you scrub to rid of algae without compromising the health. My montipora are covered in algae and I just take off what I can without causing too much damage to the polyps. I know my phosphates are high but I'm controlling that. Unfortunately I let it go on too long and then life got in the way and the algae just took over. Again I love how you are maintaining all these different species... definitely a thing of beauty 😊.

Aluminum oxide tends to work faster but breaks down in a reactor I usually remove it after 4 days to a week so it doesn’t leech back. But as far as silicate reduction goes it should be faster than gfo just like it is with phosphate. GFO is better for long term use ime and aluminum oxide is better for immediate/emergency use.
