Skagit Wool Works are fabulous! Great prices, great prep job, great selection of breeds for people ready to venture beyond merino. WA is getting spoiled with several great mills.
I love their fiber. Just finished spinning their Jacob.
my parents just brought me spinning fiber from seaweed eating sheep in the northern most part of the Orkney Islands and a few skeins of yarn for the same flock. I hadn't heard of seaweed eating sheep before so it was cool to hear you mention it as well. I can't wait to spin it up. I am currently working on a purple 3 ply combo spin per my son's request because after I made his blue back to school vest he would now like a purple vest as well. I have 4 ounces each of a purple mixed bat with bamboo and Angelina in it, a purple merino, and a purple heathered grey wool of the andes. Its making a lovely worsted weight once plied, I have 3 more bobbins to go.
🤤 Inglenook absolutely drool worthy. I have braids that are like art displays for me. I need to get them into yarn for some colorwork. They are so special. Great episode!
Yesss Inglenook fibers stick around in my cabinet for a while without getting spun just cos they're too pretty to dig into!
Love your videos and patterns, I am spinning some fibre from Crux fibres in the Yukon. I am doing a spin for my Marilla’s mittens from her low mileage wool collection. I love Brittany’s fibre and her yarns.
Thank you so much for sharing your fiber loves. I am really enjoying and learning from your spinning videos, and I would absolutely appreciate seeing your suggestions of patterns for handspun yarn as my own handspun stash starts to grow and grow.
I need to use my wheel more! I have had it for over a year and I'm so intimidated I have only made one skein... like the first noob skein. I think I just need to get over it. All the fibre is so pretty to buy! And your spins look so pretty.
You can do it! It will feel natural and wonderful in no time once you get going.
Thanks for a great video! I'm very new to spinning and appreciate the review of fiber shops. Also, do you have any advice/resource recommendations for learning how to long draw? I recall you talking about this here and there and it makes me want to try it out!
Hi! Crafting With Compassion on here has GREAT videos demonstrating it. Also, I believe Ply magazine has an issue just dedicated to woolen style spinning. Hope that helps!!
@@AimeeSherMakes Thank you!!! I'll definitely check both of those out asap. I hope you and your family have a relaxing holiday season!
I’d love to fins patterns for handspun yarns. Thank You
Hey there! I have a video titled just that! But in my own catalogue I love the Directional Pullover and Clara’s Playtime Mittens 💕
❤🌈
I would add WeeChickadee to your list. Her colors and fiber are amazing.
Ahh they're on my list of to purchase but somehow I never did! I need to get on that. Thanks for sharing!
