@rareliquid, thanks for putting this out. loved it. quick question, when will your prep course go live?
@@mortazaismailzada807for the banking course aiming for early next year! if we are fast then end of 2023 but not looking likely
Alonso being happy about VDR/Q&A work renewed my passion for the job 😂❤
'We are inalienable from ourselves and our interests and its those little moments of humanity that make people connect', very profound and true 42:00
I'm no stranger to hard work/professional services environment. Currently an MBA candidate and was a consulting manager before this. But to hear your speakers gush about the "respect for humanity" shown by their employers for letting them out for 2 hours on a weekend is crazy lol. Banking WLB is clearly its own thing.
humanity was indeed respected during those 2 hours
lol fair
As a previous ib analyst, these guys make ib sound like saving the world lol
But I mean if you’re a career banker, I guess you have to love it so why not sugarcoat it a bit
Wow, amazing! :) Really loved it.
This is really good content. Thank you
Need more of this content
hi Ben, where can I access financial modelling-related resources since Patreon seems to have been discontinued? Thanks
Can you make a video about other roles besides investment banking one can look into...a bank after doing an MBA? Also, if you can mention as to what job opportunities may or may not be available for older candidates out of mba school...after 35, 40, 45 years, etc? Thanks!
This guy is a legend , I love this guy !
Wow cool video. But honestly the weekend stories scared me off of banking.
Very professional video. Love the intro. On another note, make the interview more informal. It’s too structured. I think it should be more of a conversation. Overall, great video
noted, thanks for the input!
@@rareliquidpls fix
God job,really interesting..thanks.
Really appreciate this!! Lots of good advices!!
excuse me bro, do you have your podcast on spotify?
@rareliquid do make a video on salary of IB firm for bachelor vs mba in front office for 2024.
thanks
That was a great interview, keep it up!
Great video as usual! What are your thoughts on DA Davidson?
You skipped the PE dude at the frustration question
what should we be doing in coffee talks? and how would we set it up? if the person doesn't really know us and they live far from us, how would we be able to obtain the information from them through "coffee talks"?
This is an awesome interview, especially because you've been in banking and know what questions to ask. Super Insightful!
Also, as someone whose always considered banking as an opportunity (and did similar sell side/buy side roles), thank goodness I didn't go down this route. I'm certain it's a great learning experience, but the fact that these kids are grateful for one saturday night off is comical.
The worst part, however, is the lack of internal communication. What an absolute killer for a career. Hard to explain unless you have firsthand experience, but it's a terrible existence to have no rapport with people who oversee your career yet have no care whether you succeed or fail.
Working with people who think it's cool to have "no emotion" is one of the most unfulfilling experiences you can have. Psycopaths are the only types of people who thrive in these types of environments. Maybe worth it for the stamp of approval on your resume, not worth it for a good life.
What do you think of getting into investment banking just after graduation in masters of finance. Then after 3 years, go into asset management
Whats your opinion about ai and ongoing fear of replacing most of „corpo” jobs in near future?
Really useful and practical advice - thanks!
Do investment banker have vacations/mandatory leave?
Brilliant episode! Recruiting seems to be quite different in the big apple compared to things here (down under in Australia), but the discussion on the internship experiences was really insightful and broadly applicable.
good to hear~
IB is harder to get into in Australia than USA
@australianpatriot, but why?
@@australianpatriotbut why?
Long contents = more info! Love it.
Dude why are you not at 1,000,000 Subs you are amazing man please keep going this stuff is amazing!
Excellent episode. I love that you started a podcast. I'm still a neophyte when it comes to trying to get into Investment Banking so I'm here to take all advise I can get. Keep the great content coming.
thank you sir~
Good Podcast I would try to make it more as a conversation which will make it more engaging and relaxed instead of you asking them questions like student teacher type of conversation
thx for the feedback! will try to do this moving forward
I disagree, I really enjoyed it all with perfect answers, thanks a lot man great work
Interesting panel but conversation was a bit dull. Would prefer to see more of a podcast like discussion and more nuance/insightful responses. Though appreciate the channel
noted~ it can be hard since i'm trying to get more helpful career / recruiting advice which is always a bit more straightforward vs. fun stories. will try to make things more lively though

Great video! I agree with previous comments on making this more conversational and natural instead of sounding like an interview. Would also love to see similar content (MBA students on their internship experiences) in other industries e.g MBB, PE, VC, HF, etc.
coming soon
Last time i checked Morgan Stanley was 4th on the league tables
Handsome Peruvian dude
As a Banker and having a double skill with IT, Banking and IT(Fintech) are the perfect weapon to eliminate competitors. D
Everyone better take their money out of the bank before the Republican collapse them
These are not the worlds 3 largest banks 😅
