- If your Kenmore Dishwasher isn’t working right, the wash cycles aren’t starting or wash cycles aren’t finishing - or when the heated dry is not working - you likely just need to reset the dishwasher. Here’s how!

We’re disappointed with our Kenmore dishwasher too so we understand the frustration. It’s basically not cleaning and “Sears” can’t seem to find the problem. So we’re having to wash everything by hand before we load then just let the dishwasher sterilize the dishes. This can’t go on so we’re in the market for another dishwasher, but different brand next time.

Holy. Crap... I have been having an issue where I have to stop, start, stop, start, stop, start... You get the idea-until eventually the cycle runs normally. I found this to fix my problem! Still going to get a new one when I can but this might keep the old beast limping along and make the budget less strained! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much man. A power outage mid cycle caused our le more dishwasher to be stuck on an endless drain loop. I think this reset will fix it.

@@fbueller Unfortunately, it only worked temporarily. Issue came back again next wash cycle. I wound up replacing my dishwasher. New one from Samsung works well though.

Thanks! It’s doing the reset cycle now. Yeah, I’m thinking Bosch next time. Maybe today depending on how this goes.
I replaced mine with a Bosch, it’s so quiet, I love it.
If you have a slightly different kenmore like me. This is called the "service diagnostic cycle. The process is in the manual. Mine was attached to the kick board on the back.
Some models are still very similar, but slight differences

@@tsr6 Unfortunately it didn't work. Do you have any other ideas? It still still not draining and the light is flashing. I was thinking of cleaning out the drain pipes. What do you think?

I have the same series Kenmore model as in your video. I tried the hard reset, but red light above cancel button never came on. Could it be a sensor problem? If so, is there a way to test for this? Is it expensive to replace a sensor? I really appreciate your help.

Dont have the select cycle button on my Ultra wash model. Also have a Pots and Pans light that flashes, unable to troubleshoot.
Dishwasher does not do anything
this also works on Whirlpool WDF310
I have a model that looks just like this in a rental. During turnover, I discovered that the breaker for it was tripped. I reset it and ran it through a cycle and it was leaking (looked like through the bottom seal). It also tripped the breaker again. I have no idea why the breaker is tripping, unless water is not getting into the dishwasher and the heating element is overheating. Will have to go back and try to figure out what's going on. I don't think the leaking is causing anything to trip, because the water comes out the front, not inside the cabinet, i.e. I can see where the water comes out.
The service instructions are attached to the back of the toe plate and include the information to error check the dishwasher.
I replaced this with a Bosch.

Mine was push the START button FIRST, then the 3 buttons left to right 3 times THEN Cancel. Not sure if it fixes my problem but it's running now. Maybe I'll give an update. Thank you!
It didnt fix the problem but I can now hear a pulsing and buzzing like something is stuck. I'm assuming it's the pump. Mine fills and drains fine. Filter, screen and inside feed tubes and rotating blade are all clear. Just wont spray. When I take the blade and housing off, water did come out once. Then I put it together and no spray. I used a bowl on the top rack. Any ideas?

My Kenmore dishwasher is a POS.. when it does run it makes a horrible noise when running, been trying to get it to work for 2 days. I am going to try this and see if it helps
There’s probably something broken then, this helps things like short cycling and not drying.

My stupid GE dishwasher Needs to be reset above about every 3 weeks Or the damn thing won't dream Fully. GE sent a technician out 2 different times do replace the pump Under warranty. The 1st replacement pump literally melted did in on itself in the 2nd Replacement pump works as well as the original one did but makes makes a lot of noise well it's working. Frustrated I went into my local Sears Hometown store store where I had decided that I was going to link to replace the two-year-old dishwasher with a new Kenmore. I am an extremely product loyal guy and thought and thought the Kenmore would be my best best bet however after telling the Sales lady who was also the E franchise owner about the old dishwasher dishwasher she smiled and walked me over to one of the kinmore dishwashers that that looked almost identical dental to my GE profile. Whirlpool makes the lower end Kenmore dishwashers well while GE makes makes several of the mid rang Models and LG Makes the high end the high end Kenmore Delete and Kenmore PRO Models. She showed me how to do that reset trick that trick which unfortunately Lee I have to do much more much more often than I then I like. I appreciated her honesty her honesty and the fact that she saved me from from spending $500 want to do dishwasher so right then and there I decided cited I need it to buy a new ( Whirlpool) Kenmore Elite convection oven/range.🤣

I’d pull the model & serial off it, but I replaced it with a Bosch. The reset fix was only short term sadly.
My buttons on my front panel are not exactly the same as the ones in your video on your machine. Can you tell me what buttons the 3 are?

The soap dispenser on my Kenmore won't open. I am not thrilled with this dishwasher - it came with the house. I will most likely replace this thing soon. I have not yet tried the hard reset to see if that will work on the soap dispenser.

Does anyone know of the address of the head quarters of the Sears Company or what is left of them.
Our Kenmore Elite dishwasher would not work in the normal mode. It gave errors saying not enough water, start washing and the screen goes blank and starts beeping or it says there is too much suds (we only use Cascade) and not over fill the dispenser.
I called Sears to come out and fix it. We have a whole house appliance contract on our appliances. I paid the $ 75 dollar for the service man to come out.
He came in opened the dish washer, loosen the screws to the inside door panel and stared at it for several minutes and said 'You need a new dish washer". I told him OK and thanked him and he left.
I came here and found this video and tried what you said and by golly it worked. It re-set the controller module and now my dish washer works on all cycles.
I'm going to send a letter to someone at Sears and see if I can get my money back or at least gripe at them because the serviceman didn't have the knowledge to do what you said.

I’ve got the same model as you. All the sudden no power. So online I see a simple fuse kit but when I open up my control panel it is different. Any ideas y’all? Any idea where the fuse is or anyone fry a board? Any help appreciated.

@@tsr6 mine doesn't have these buttons because it's not a kenmore.lol. I thought it was. It's a whirlpool but I did the trick with the press buttons 3x a d all the different modes popped up like dry drain clean so I pressed start and E1 and F2 popped up so I pressed start again and water started running and then was done quickly.when I opened the door there was all this sudsy water but I didn't add soap
My Kenmore Elite dishwasher is model 665.12789K310 with control panel on upper/hidden edge, My favorite cycle combo for years (run only 1-2 times per week) was Normal, Sani Rinse, Dry and did fine. Then it started getting locked into wash cycles that would go for maybe 5 hours, or stuck in the rinse cycle and not ever drain. Would like to hear from someone having successful reset with my model; Modes offered: CYCLE (Smart wash, Pots/Pans, Normal, China, 1 Hr, Quick Rinse; then Options: Turbo, Hi Temp, Sani Rinse, Smart Dry, Top Rack only, 2-4-8 Delay; START and CANCEL. Can provide photos of control panel if I have an email to send them to.

@@tsr6 Got rid of same Kenmore as mine? Where did you get your Bosch? Most stores are showing them pretty pricey. Main dealers in my locale are Best Buy, Menards, ABC Warehouse (Michigan)
