Agreed, man. Saranac will always hold a special place in my heart, so I'll always try new offerings if I can find singles, or revisit beer from them occasionally. I wish they brought back that Pacific Galaxy I talked about in the review. It was the best beer I ever had from them. You would think after over 2000 reviews, I'd be able to speak properly, yet here we are. Good thing I just have fun with it, haha! I think you'd still buy their stuff occasionally if they were available to you, as they're pretty good shelfie beer for a reasonable price. Very Sam Adams-like, but with more variety. I probably wouldnt buy this even if Saranac was still around here. Looks like its in multiple variety packs so I would just get that. Btw that Saranac IPA you said you loved that was called Pacific something, its got a 97 rating on BA. Have no idea how a Saranac beer managed to get that high of a score. Seems like it was draft and brewery only which may inflate the score even if its legit great.
I think the variety pack is the way to go, for sure. This is actually pretty good for a shelfie Hazy IPA. It's a shame you don't get Saranac anymore, but that seems to be the case for many. That beer I was talking about is called Pacific Galaxy. The name escaped me in the review. You're right in saying that it was draft-only. I actually had it at a beer fest, and it was so good, I looked to see if it was available anywhere else, and sure enough, one of my local bottle shops got it on draft. I ended up buying an entire growler of it and killing it all in two days. I'm telling you, it was the best Saranac beer I ever had. I still remember being simply blown away by it. Dude, I totally understand! I remember actually liking that one quite a bit. My "welcome to IPA" moment was Troegs Nugget Nectar. They call it an Imperial Amber Ale -- which I guess is true -- but it always drank like an Imperial IPA to me. I remember the first time I tried it, I couldn't believe how bitter and gross it was. Now? Love it, haha! Crazy how palates work.
