Sorry to all who are demanding for the original movie but let me just tell all of you that their 90 percent of Indian subs are Hindi viewers( me being an odia yet I watch Hindi only) so reacting to the original movie will neither give them views nor give us the fun we want. I know it may be annoying but it is what it is.
Native hindi speakers are only 10-15%. Rest of Indians speaks Hindi as 2nd or 3rd language. On top of that neighbouring Indian countries people only understands Hindi. So why will anybody wanna watch Malayalam version?
Tabbu "assumed" that story because she is an IG (Inspector General), one of the highest ranks in police in India. IGs are extremely smart in solving crimes due to their experience dealing with various criminals. It's like asking for an experienced mechanic, who can tell you right away where the fault is and how that "might" have happened, which is mostly correct.
I dont think they are ready for that masterpiece film. Because they talk/discuss so much in between the film that they will miss most minute details in that film.
Tabu's character kind of sees through Vijay because she's IG of the State Police department and mother of Sam, she's a good cop and ruthless at that, i don't think it's convenient she figured it out.
58:50 This was not convenient. This was done for 2 reasons. First to imply that Tabu was an extremely smart cop, who was really good at her job. Second, and the MAIN reason being to create this scene as a reveal for the audiences and help them understand as to how Vijay created such air-tight alibis, despite the crime having being committed on a different date. Hence the straight-forward, simplified explanation. As such, this scene was meant to reveal and convey to the audiences that both the involved parties were geniuses. This was important for keeping the audience guessing as to who will win at the end - who will have his / her way - since both of them were operating outside the law - and that this was a no-holds-barred fight? This movie is more of "What happens next" rather than a "Whodunnit?" movie.
Only thing though, according to me I thought the reason Tabu gets to that conclusion from the movie pov is to make sure the audience understand what actually happened, otherwise the story becomes too confusing for the people. Although at times it feels like she is reaching to conclusions out of nowhere, I still think that scene was needed to make sure we understand the events, what I did like is that after that they actually couldn't prove it which realistically happens in many cases, where the police might have a theory and that might be the true theory but lack of any substantial evidence makes it all useless, so atleast it's realistic in this part. If it was a real case and not a movie, the police might have still come to a theory based on what they hear in investigation but that theory wouldn't have been exactly accurate.

I would disagree. What makes him phenomenal is his voice otherwise you can pick up any best 10 acting scenes from him and show it to someone they wouldn't be able to differentiate it. He always makes the same face and those drunk eye look he does makes him look more emotional. Nowadays seems like he isn't even trying anymore.
They came to that conclusion because the family told them the same story. U just have to switch the date and the people telling them that the family reminded them the date after they met later gave tabu enough proof to blame the family. The police didn’t get the evidence but I think anybody would get to the same conclusion as the police

I can only sympathize a little with Sam's father character (a sane person) but the mother/ police woman - Meera, not at all. I can understand till she didn't know what happened to her son, but after knowing what a moron he was, she could have apologized once and then proceed with her investigation, but naah, she didn't show any guilt/ embarassment. So i don't care, it's you who spoilt him to this low level. Ultimately you are to be blamed. Also it's not murder exactly rather an accident in that chaotic situation. I mean as if Sam is any saint, he deserved that. What do you expect after doing such a filthy disgusting act ?
Reasons why Tabu came up with the theory 1. She is playing a super cup IG role 2. She is looking for her own son and all the clues she has are pointing at Vijay ( like Gatorade's claim about Vijay with the car, her sons phone switched off in panji, her son made last call to Vijay's daughter). Everyone knows how some people go crazy for revenge for their loved ones. 3. Vijay made a mistake by looking at the camera & she is desperately trying to connect every single detail to prove herself. Personally I would have added the scene where Tabu finds about the motive (i.e. the video her son took) before she comes up with the Theory. That way the scene where She explains the Theory is more connected & her trying to get confession by torture would have made more sense.
You should have watched it's original version in Malayalam. It's the OG one. Do check out drishyam 2 in Malayalam. I'm sure you will be amazed. Lots of love from India
Tabu is the Inspector General of Goa. She is experienced and on daily basis they solve crime cases. That's why it was easy for her to assume and narrate the story Vijay was creating
When they say its conventient, that how many detectives work, on theories. Mostly detective stories are based on detectives making theories and filling blanks. They test the theories out then. So i had no problem with that part.

great reaction, drishyam is such a gripping watch. would love for you guys to watch ram-leela, its a sanjay leela bhansali movie but not a historical piece. great music, cast, costumes, chemistry, and is a delight to watch.

She was an IG level Police officer which is one of the highest levels in police force which means she's incredibly smart and have various cases under her belt to know how things usually work out. Also, what she said about those bills and stuff was not at all a lie. You can easily make a fake bill here

There are a lot of high-ranking special police officers famous in India for their courage, bravery, and smartness. You can know about the highest ranking post of the police examination in India, which is IPS officer. It's exam is the toughest one, and 7 to 8 out of 100 get clear it or less than that. They are trained with all combat, psychological, and aptitude tests at high levels. You can read about Mumbai police, Maharashtra police, ATS, and CBI. Then you might be more surprised. Drishyam and Drishyam 2 are one of the best movies from Bollywood.

It’s rare for a sequel to be as solid as the first movie. Before watching D2 I was worried that they would ruin what was built in D1. But I was wrong Drishyam 2 actually takes the story in unexpected twists and turns and elevates it.

The director of the original of this movie(Malayalam) is also the scriptwriter of it. I feel like the real creators deserves the appreciation or even criticism rather than the remakers, Whichever language it is. 😒😒😒 This is the third movie they react to which is a remake. Glad to see MY NAME IS KHAN in the list as I watched the movie yesterday after about 12-13 years(I forgot almost 75% of it) I absolutely loved it.. it's a great movie, SRK-KJO pair is simply amazing.

Alright, folks, I hope you're all reading this. Let me try to clarify the part that seems a bit too convenient. What we see and hear during the events of October 2nd-3rd and the following days is entirely from Meera’s perspective, as seen through Tabu’s portrayal. She places herself into the mindset of the criminal-Vijay Salgaonkar-and tries to think like a man who dropped out of school in 4th grade, a cinema-obsessed individual who values family above all else. She explores the possible paths Vijay might take in his quest to prove his family’s innocence. However, the true story and how Vijay truly masterminded everything could be completely different, or perhaps just slightly altered. That secret, as Vijay reveals to his wife at the end, dies with him. I’ll tell you this: watching it felt like a Mindhunter episode. Part 1 was great, but in my opinion, Drishyam 2 builds on the same foundation and takes it to a whole new level with an even more brilliant, nail-biting screenplay. Peace ✌

How others improve or ruin that originality can come later. As artists, i think you can understand this. Reasons why Tabu came up with the theory
1. She is playing a super cup IG role
2. She is looking for her own son and all the clues she has are pointing at Vijay ( like Gatorade's claim about Vijay with the car, her sons phone switched off in panji, her son made last call to Vijay's daughter). Everyone knows how some people go crazy for revenge for their loved ones.
3. Vijay made a mistake by looking at the camera & she is desperately trying to connect every single detail to prove herself.
Personally I would have added the scene where Tabu finds about the motive (i.e. the video her son took) before she comes up with the Theory. That way the scene where She explains the Theory is more connected & her trying to get confession by torture would have made more sense.

Tabu is the Inspector General of Goa. She is experienced and on daily basis they solve crime cases. That's why it was easy for her to assume and narrate the story Vijay was creating
When they say its conventient, that how many detectives work, on theories. Mostly detective stories are based on detectives making theories and filling blanks. They test the theories out then. So i had no problem with that part.

ik you guys always react to bollywood movies mainly cause most of your subscribers prefer that..but as a keralite its really sad to see the original malayalam movies of these remake versions are not getting the credit it deserves..these kind of stories and ideas are arised in the head of the people from the regional film industries in india but all the time the credit goes to the bollywood versions..whether it be international viewers or other indian viewers they always hype the bollywood versions..some bollywood fans even disrespect the og ones..this has been happening since years and till today the saga continues..these remakes mostly happens cause the malayalam movie industry is a very very small one compared to bollywood so often when someone requests for a remake the producers sell the remake rights of the movie so that they can get a little more profit..this is not only the case of malayalam industry but many other regional industries faces the same..look at the singham series..rohit shetty remade it and now everyone just keep hyping it when infact the tamil ver was much better..whether it be bhool bhulaiya, hera pheri, drishyam those movies were remade by someone else and the og creators of those stories like fazil, sidhique-lal, jeethu joseph etc doesn't even get mentioned for such masterpieces and whats funny is that if you search most of these remade bollywood movies it won't even say that its a remake!

The director of the original of this movie(Malayalam) is also the scriptwriter of it. I feel like the real creators deserves the appreciation or even criticism rather than the remakers, Whichever language it is. 😒😒😒 This is the third movie they react to which is a remake. What we see and hear during the events of October 2nd-3rd and the following days is entirely from Meera’s perspective, as seen through Tabu’s portrayal. She places herself into the mindset of the criminal-Vijay Salgaonkar-and tries to think like a man who dropped out of school in 4th grade, a cinema-obsessed individual who values family above all else. She explores the possible paths Vijay might take in his quest to prove his family’s innocence.
However, the true story and how Vijay truly masterminded everything could be completely different, or perhaps just slightly altered. That secret, as Vijay reveals to his wife at the end, dies with him.
I’ll tell you this: watching it felt like a Mindhunter episode.
Part 1 was great, but in my opinion, Drishyam 2 builds on the same foundation and takes it to a whole new level with an even more brilliant, nail-biting screenplay.
