Great reaction, Seph! I love this song too! These raw vocals are always great to listen to! And the guitarist is Slash, by the way. He and Michael worked together quite a lot :D! For the next song (will you be there), I highly recommend that you listen to the album version before watching the music video. That's because the music video is just a few scenes of the live performance, but it cuts off the last few minutes of the song and this last section is amazing! It's a fantastical monologue that makes me cry pretty much every time I hear it. And considering that you're also getting to know Michael's story, I think this really adds up to the whole experience!

Definitely!! He should react to the lyrics as well, it's quite hard to find a lyric video with the full 7 minutes I did find it and tried to share the link to Seph but it got deleted every time 😭😭 hopefully he can find it as well
Actually it isn't "master" or amything to me at alll loll, to me it seems more like he likes semeone but the person doesn't like him or keeps leading him on or giving hopes saying she likes him and he's just like asking her to commit to him basically, more like on an emotional level as well, there is pain and sadness in this song as well when he says he spent his whole life looking for someone (which to me suggests he looks for something more than sex, more like a company, someone to actually be with him in his life, which was a desire he expressed on a private phone call as well, that he just wanted to be loved, he sounded sooo sad because he was in his 30s and still could not find love), that she always makes him cry and that she "gets her kicks from hurting him" like "laughing at him behind his back with her friends", so it's not purely about sex, yes there is a sexual element but there is an emotion there so it is deeper, unlike In The Closet for example where to me it seems to be about just sexual desire, but that's just how I feel lol, there is also a sense of desperation in there as well so I definitely see what you're saying, he is vulnerable! Great song!! ❤❤
I feel exactly the same, definitely there is more to it than just sexual to me, it's not that superficial, he needs to pay attention to the details in what Michael is saying haha but I.understand, Seph is so adorable with his genuine reactions and his first impressions 😂❤❤
Fun fact about this video. Guns n Roses were touring europe as was Michael. Michael called slash ( slash recorded this song with MJ) asking could they put a band together to shoot a video. Slash got Gilby Clarke, who at that time was the rhythm guitarist for Guns and their then keyboardist Teddy "Zig Zag" Andreadis to agree to go. Michael got a private jet to pick them up and they shot this legendary music video! 🎶
Agree, this song is another level. Very, very underrated. Michael is definitely on fire, for sure, as is Slash on the guitar. They had such mutual respect for each other. And in the video the look soooo good together. Thank you, love. 🙏
Seph, I don’t know if you agree with me but I think every MJ album is so different of the others in all aspects that I can’t see this in other artists’ discography.
On today's episode of Getting Seph Flustered With MJ Songs "Am I picking up on a Master/Servant vibe here or do I just have a dirty mind?" For real now, the song is about a power dynamic, with Michael going from the one that was suffering for love to being the one that is in control in the relationship, and with a line like "Give it when I want it" it isn't too crazy to imagine that he isn't taking charge purely in an emotional way - but it isn't solely about being in charge in the bedroom either. The heartbreak, desperation and vulnerability that are very clear in the verses is what makes it go from just a song about a guy being assertive to his lover to something much more unique and complex. The mindblowing guitar solo doesn't hurt either.
This is the perfect explanation of this song! I think you're completely on point with your read on this. Seriously! The emotional depth of this song... the pain in it... that's what makes this song different from a regular sexually aggressive narrative. It's coming from a place of desperation and longing. A desire for control that is possibly out of grasp. I've also theorized it could be about 2 different women. This is what's amazing about Mj's music. Even In the Closet is about an emotionally complex relationship and situation, rather than just straight up sex. I love that there are such layers.
I think the songs from "Dangerous" are a bit more sexual because in those years there were rumors of Michael being homosexual, so he tried to probe to the media that he wasn't, I think that's actually one of the reasons one song is called "In the closet", he use the title to troll the media while also making one of his more sexual songs
Great point! I agree! I actually don't think he felt such sexual attraction because of his childhood experieces, being raised as a jehovah's witness and witnessing his older brothers having sex right next to him while he was asleep as a kid (probably because of their father's influence), and seeing his father cheat on his mother and having sex with groupies kinda made him not really into it, not saying he had no drive just that I think it was very suppressed in a way because I remember him saying he felt guilty and disgusted, I'm sure it affected him emotionally in adulthood when it came to relationships, he ptobably wanted something deeper.
@@tyleredison-zq4ukThere was a book released by Victor Gutierrez titled....'Michael Jackson was my Lover' which MJ had to sue for defamation of character. I think Evan Chandler (father of the first accuser) was in collision with the writer.
@@tyleredison-zq4uk I also think that because MJ was a burn victim and becoming addicted to pain killers and also being insecure about vitiligo... may be some factors to his seemingly being 'asexual'. If you have seen videos and pics with him and Diana Ross you will see he had a genuine connection with her.
That song is so heart breaking 😢 So much pain. For me it is about the devastation and the destructive thoughts and feelings that can come up when you suffer from heartbreak. He would never act on them of course, but he vents them out through art. I think a lot of people that suffer from toxic, messy romantic relationships feel that. It is abusive, it is destructive, but you have to recognize your dark side to be able to decide not to act on it.

I believe Will You Be There is next, all I ask is that you do not do the video but instead do the album version with the lyrics. I need you to really feel this song in its entirety
Listen to the song again, I'd say the master/survant-thing is just a charged set of words used to describe something else; stop playing games with me, trying to hurt me to manipulate me into needing your validation. Give me all or I'm done, give into me emotionally and physically. Words are cheap if you don't put any meaning and action behind them "your words just aren't enough...I don't wanna hear it...talk to me woman". Like talk to me for real, make it mean something. It's really about a relationship where your partner wants control over your emotions, when you want emotional honesty from them. You want to give it as well - you're ready to love them in every way "cause I'm on fire" - but you're fed-up with waiting for them to stop emotionally abusing you, while still believing they are capable of real love and therefore not wanting to let go, "give in to the fire". MJ building the lyrics around using controling terminology towards the woman but then describing a situation, where they/the subject of the story are the one being controlled and used, really just wanting it to stop; makes one understand that it's the other way around, MJ/the subject is just answering with a language as direct and explicit, as their partner is being the opposite (fake, manipualtive, closed-off, etc). I think many can relate to that. It's not a why-song, though. It's not about why their partner is doing this (for power, insecurities of their own, other motives behind their relationship than the apparent or if it is them both that are driving eachother into extremes). It's a heat of the moment song, in the charge of a fight, an I'm exploding half-way-out-the-door song, a break-up song. MJ is playing with language that is sexually charging the song, making the listener think about a fiery, almost taboo-ish sexual relationship; thinking about break-ups and relationship fights. But the deeper story portayed, is about when you've got caught in a (at least partly) malfunctioning and exhausting relationship, so your language when screaming at you partner/ex/on-and-off person, simply means that while you still want them, you won't put up with their bullshit no more, "You won't be laughin girl when I'm not around, I'll be ok...I'll be fine, gotta have some peace of mind". Cool shortfilm, too. Slash is in it, as well!
trust me if you react to the GIVE INTO ME Music Video then you will feel it is a more wonderful and passionate song and you will see Michael himself with more amazing expressions while singing it, MJ looks so differentrent and stylish in this music video I suggest you react to the official music video also... pls do it... and yes pls react to Dangerous live performance in Munich 1997 by Michael Jackson... and yes there is no live performance by MJ on Give In to Me song...
Seph, please please read it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Everyone are saying you should react to the full album version of the next song and not the music video, so I have a suggestion for you. If you want, you can react to the full album version until 1:48, and then go into the music video straight away. And then when the music video ends, click on the album version at 5:24. If you want (just to press and click twice to move between the videos), that way you can experience the full experience at once without having to divide the reaction. If you want, please please consider it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just watch the album version till 1:48, click on the music video, then when it ends click on the album version in 5:24. If you don't find it complicated, I just thought it would be cool🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

though this was never released as a single in the US, this song right here SHOULD'VE BEEN THE BIGGEST HIT ON DANGEROUS (It was black or white instead, followed by in the closet & remember the time). Give in to me is so gritty and one of his best rock songs if not the best 🔥 🔥 . The way you loved the guitar riffs, were you more impressed with the give in to me guitar play than dirty Diana/beat it guitar play? Also, a few people who knew MJ in person over the years said he didn't like people telling him no or telling him that something can't be done. They claimed he surrounded himself with yes men who didn't refuse him on anything. If that is true, then the song GIVE IN TO ME was the closest proof we ever saw of this. With lyrics like "don't try to understand me, just simply do the things I say, love is a feeling, quench my desire, give it when I want it, I don't want to hear it, talk to me woman, give in to me" etc. He wasn't known to be bossy or rude. He was known to be extremely polite and kind and shy but at the same time very demanding. Give in to me might just be showing the other side of him. And he wrote the song too lmao
It does sound sexual all of a sudeen lol I think there was rumors about him being gay and he wanted to like prove to them he wasn't, I actually don't think he felt such sexual attraction personally because of his childhood experieces, being raised as a jehovah's witness and hearing his older brothers having sex right next to him while he was asleep as a little kid (probably because of their father's influence), and seeing his father cheat on his mother and having sex with several women kinda made him not really into it, not saying he had no drive just that I think it was very suppressed in a way, he was probably thaught by his mother that it was wrong and that he should wait for marriage because I remember him saying he felt guilty and disgusted, I'm sure it affected him emotionally in adulthood when it came to relationships, he ptobably wanted something deeper and more meaningful with someone

It is Slash
Seph, please please read it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Everyone are saying you should react to the full album version of the next song and not the music video, so I have a suggestion for you. If you want, you can react to the full album version until 1:48, and then go into the music video straight away. And then when the music video ends, click on the album version at 5:24. If you want (just to press and click twice to move between the videos), that way you can experience the full experience at once without having to divide the reaction. If you want, please please consider it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Just watch the album version till 1:48, click on the music video, then when it ends click on the album version in 5:24. If you don't find it complicated, I just thought it would be cool🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It is Slash in the 🎸
Heyyy love the videos i really want to see you react to this time around Micheal Jackson and biggie there's no music vid so u could do the lyrics
Maybe, Lyric video followed by Music video
in the same video, Would prob please everyone, since some want lyrics & some others want music videos.
Idk just throwing out ideas trying to help🤷♂️
though this was never released as a single in the US, this song right here SHOULD'VE BEEN THE BIGGEST HIT ON DANGEROUS (It was black or white instead, followed by in the closet & remember the time).
#thejacksns
That would be Slash on Guitar
Have you done video for Remember The Time
You should react to November Rain by Guns N Roses.
OMG, the guitar solo outside the church.
