Love your reactions to MJ! This is one of my favorite short films! And regarding the dance, MJ reached his pick during dangerous phase, you will really like his performance in the Dangerous world tour!
“Remember The Time” ~ The meaning of the song is basically a breakup song. With MJ asking an ex-lover (over and over) for her to remember the special times they had together. When the single was released MJ dedicated the song with love to Diana Ross. In Michael’s 1988 Autobiography titled “Moonwalk”, he stated that he had his longtime love interest and mentor, Diana Ross, in mind when he wrote the song. The accompanying Music Video for "Remember The Time" was filmed in January 1992 at the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot. Prior to the release of the video, Jackson's record label promoted it by releasing clips, as well as releasing behind the scenes clips of making the video. It premiered on ABC, NBC and Fox and BET on February 2, 1992. After the video premiered on MTV, the channel aired a special called "More Dangerous Than Ever" which included glimpses of the making of the video. Directed by John Singleton and choreographed by Fatima Robinson, the video was an elaborate production and became one of Jackson's longest videos at over nine minutes. It was set in ancient Egypt and featured groundbreaking visual effects and appearances by Eddie Murphy, Iman, The Pharcyde, Magic Johnson, Tom "Tiny" Lister Jr. and Wylie Draper, who portrayed Jackson as an adult in the made-for-TV movie The Jacksons: An American Dream and died shortly after appearing in this video. Jackson appears in the video as a hooded wizard who enters an Egyptian palace and attempts to entertain the Pharaoh's bored Queen. Two other entertainers have failed, and she has sent them to be executed. The Queen sees that this wizard is different - instead of juggling or eating fire, he walks up the steps to her throne and sings to her, asking her if she "remembers the time" they were together. The Pharaoh (played by Murphy) hardly appreciates this move and summons his guards. Jackson runs away to another room and begins elaborate, Egyptian-style choreography with the Pharaoh's servants. When the guards find him, Jackson turns into golden sand. In the video, Jackson was dressed in a costume made of gold satin. He wore golden chain mail, a white skirt with a phallic dangling sash, black pants and black boots. This video features a physically complicated dance routine that became the centerpiece of other videos from the Dangerous album. The Music Video was generally well received by music critics with most calling it a "Gorgeous Ancient Egyptian Extravaganza".🙌🏽👑💛💕💫(This Short Film/Music Video premiered on my BDay February 2nd and this Short Film is such a masterpiece from the choreography, the song itself, the outfit’s,MJ’s vocals his solo dancing, the plot etc. just truly stellar Long Live The King Of Music Michael Jackson My Idol Forever! May I add that this was a very monumental Short Film/Music Video for the Black Community to be represented as true Royalty in every sense of the matter MJ honored his heritage that the media and folks tried to claim he wanted to desperately deny which couldn’t be further from the truth. Also I love MJ’s Live Performance of this song during the 1993 Soul Train Awards, who was laid up with a severely twisted ankle, gave a one of a kind memorable performance of the song while sitting in a egyptian gold throne Please React to that performance.)
Where in Moonwalk does it say this song was about Diana Ross? Moonwalk doesn't talk on any songs written for albums after Bad. However, MJ does make clear their love and thankfulness towards Ross, saying D.R. was a mother, friend and lover all wrapped up in one amazing person.
There's another funny story about Michael's outfit. Michael was supposed to wear a headgear that he didn't like. His costume designer Michael Bush recalled in his book "The King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson" that this headgear suddenly disappeared. It only reappeared on the last day of the video shoot. Michael had been hiding it the whole time.
that intricately difficult Egyptian dance sequence was brilliantly choreographed by famed choreographer Fatima Robinson. she even appeared as a dancer in the scene twice. now, i know the majority of the choreography for Michael's short films, but i must say this is the hardest. to this day, i am still learning certain steps and moves. it is a testament to his ability (as a dancer) that he was able to master it.
I remember watching this the night it premiered in my living room and being a 12 year old girl who was in absolute awe of this man and his genius! His video’s when they premiered it was an event!
Love this reaction, Seph, thank you for making this video! The short film is one of his best for sure an your reaction is wildly entertaining)) Keep them coming!
I always look forward to your reactions. This one didn’t disappoint. This is such an iconic video. I hope you also get a chance to react to his soul train performance of the song. He’s sitting in a chair the whole time and yet his performance is awesome. Great reaction as usual!
The 'Los Angeles Times' wrote about Michael's performance: "Jackson performed “Remember the Time,” which he turned into a show-stopping production number despite being confined to a wheelchair."
Man you are the best at doing reactions to MJ I love them all! I watched your reaction to Don't Stop Till You Get Enough when you didn't know much about him and his music, I'm wondering how do you like the journey so far? What do you think about him? Is he one of your favorite artists? Do you actually listen to his songs in your alone time outside of reactions? What has been the MJ song you've been listening to the most lately? I'm addicted to a song called Slave to The Rythm it's sooo good, I hope you react to it! The lyrics are great too! Sorry for so many questions 😂
You timed this very well haha Today im making a video where im going to have a "Recap" of my MJ journey so far, I'll be ranking all the songs ive heard and I'll be answering all your questions too. Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll release the video "Depends on how long it all takes me" haha
Amazing video Seph ! I remember when i first seen this as a kid , i will not lie i was shocked at MJ's appearance for a minute but that went out the window very fast.
I think I remember Iman saying that Michael was very shy but also easy to work with and very professional, and that she was very impressed by his humanitarian efforts and that was very endearing to her 😊❤
As a thank you for Eddie for being a part in this video Michael was part of an Eddie Murphy song from Eddie's album called "Whatzupwitu" and also appeared on the video, you should react to it, it's just a feel good song and video very fun just 2 friends joking around, you could actually see Michael was having fun just dancing around in the video with Eddie it's really cute 😂😂❤🥰
I've loved Michael's music video since the first time I saw it, it became my favorite and it remains that way to this day, in my opinion, it's an impeccable video as always, in addition to the incredible choreography, it's also my favorite and for me the best one, Seeing it, I can't fully describe what I think and feel about this short film and yes, for me it's Michael's best music video, I have no words to describe this video, it's simply perfect, Michael is perfect here and yes, this was Michael's first kiss in screen and I love Eddie Murphy too he was a great friend of our King. 🙌🏻👏🏻👑🤩❤️
Well, about the kiss, rumours say that he liked her so much, that couldn't stop kissing her. She stopped him by saying something like ''stop, i;m about to marry David''.
Thanks, Steph, We love you for experiencing M.J. and taking us a long for the enjoyment and pleasure of still enjoying the G.O.A. T. ( THE GREATEST VOF ALL TIMES) Long live the 👑.
This is my song!!! my video, its just perfect This one and you rock my world are in my top three. You will get to it eventually. This was the first music video with an all black cast Michael set the standard!! The moves everything just chef's kiss 💋 and the Woman is Iman! A model, eddie and Mike were good friends
Michael wanted people to understand our history and have a good time. Egypt is part of Africa! Michael has a way of given us more then one note, he tells stories not just with the music, with his body! This came out in the 90s and it seemed like school play had this song in it! This is why he is..... King of Music!
i've heard that this shortfilm is the respond from MJ to hollywood after they rejected his idea to create a movie where Egyptians were all black, the way it should be historically
amazing I am. happy you did this video... because if you do not watch Michael's videos then you really don't enjoy them more,,, he did a lot of hard work in his music videos which is not going on nowadays in music videos... you pls must watch the GIVE IN TO ME music video also...

i was like where the f is a camel looool i have not once seen it hahahahahaha and all of a sudden the different looks that seemed "weird" when not knowing him u start to dig, right? Like the long long wavy hair...etc etc hahahha i was waiting for that dance scene ...i skipped the album version straight away and i am glad i did...
4:46 one person that did that told me that they themselves as they bring the fire to their mouth they exhale so they’re blowing it out before it gets to their mouth. 15:49 that smile reminds me of Eddie Murphy’s smile in his movies.
@for-house-stark I said imho.. The next extended short film he did after this was Ghosts and honestly it was lacking alot of what made his earlier short films up to this point so special, even with the effects and choreography! The entire subtext of the film is about the allegations and MJ venting his anger... natural response but took away from the art..again IMHO. After the allegations MJ was never the same. The latter part of his career musically was overshadowed. His last extended short film was You Rock My World but even as a die hard fan, that video was forgettable and kind of a rehash of everything he did before that.
@@moscokidd3813 I wasn't even thinking of ghosts or you rock my world. MJ had other masterful shortfilms such as scream and earth song video. Even the blood on the dance floor video was awesome.
@for-house-stark oh OK. When I say Epic short films I mean in the extended long pieces with a story that were his signature, Thriller, BAD, Smooth Criminal etc. This was the last one that embodied that spark and wonder he had from the 80s. Its one of his most memorable.. the two I mentioned weren't up to the same standard.
lol... I love how you're surprised about not recognizing the part of the song when the dancing starts. FYI, for all if not most of Micheal Jackson's videos that includes a dance segment, the song is re-edited/ extended specifically for the intended dance sequence. Not many people know, the song Thriller was beautifully butchered to play all the vocal segments first, before any of the chorus. Then he played the rest of the video, starting from the dancing, with an extended instrumental, and then as only singing the chorus parts of the song till the end. like I said... "Beautifully Butchered". The guy's a genius.
I touched that outfit at the MJ exhibition in London! I almost got kicked out by security! That is gold plated material! Insane! Magic Johnson is the gong hitter! Basketball player 😊
11:10... I read a while back in his biography that he ran off set into his trailer immediately after this scene was shot out of embarrassment. Not sure if its factual but likely as we know Mike was very shy/introverted
@janealace Wasn't what I was implying... Just relaying what I read. What I actually think people fail to understand is how much of an impact Michael's upbringing/childhood evidently had on his development and his temperament. It's plausible that he could have really been that shy.... however what people also misunderstand is that shyness/introversion doesn't automatically = lack of desire. The two things are not synonymous
i just dont understand the comments ( and you ) saying "this is my favourite video/mini movie ' i love them all the same ! watching the master at work is always a good time !
Everybody (including me) was going ballistic at you in the comments, we were only looking out for your best interests man. Amazed you still have under 14k subscribers. There is a girl I watch movie reactions from (Once Upon A Reaction) and she is easily the best movie reactor on UA-cam but only has 33k subscribers. Some of the rubbish reactors have like 500k lol. I don't get it.
Hi Seph, I don't know if you saw my comment on the last video, but I suggested that for the next song on the album, you can watch the album version up until 1:48, switch right into the music video, and then when it ends switch back to the album version at 5:24. Maybe it's too much trouble Idk, but that way everyone will be Satisfied. Tell me what you think if you like the suggestion🤔🤔
Actually I think it's best to just react to the full album version ❤ then maybe he can go back and watch the video but don't know if it's necessary it's very short and just have scenes of the Free Willy movie which this song was the soundtrack to and a few shots of Michael in concert, this song in particular is a real masterpiece and needs to be listened to all at once in full ❤
I mean this one I don't know if it's really neceasary cause Michael literally only shows up for 5 seconds at the very end (which he already saw in the Bad 25 documentary)
Video begins showing 3 Egyptian idols.... Ramses/murphy, the queen/iman & the sphinx/Jackson!!! Assuming mj/murphy/Iman emulate chooses Egyptian idols for the music video.... THE SPHINX NOSE IS REMOVED, JACKSON NOSE REMOVED 😮
Actually it quite makes sense for the song to be set in some ancient place, since the words Remember the time talk about Remember something in the far past, something ancient to today to Remember, like ancient Egypt😅. It was huge when it came out, it was the second song and video released from the album after Black or white, and the two were basically THE main songs of the album, one big banger and a love song, like don't stop till you get enough and rock with you to off the wall, and bad and the way you make me feel for bad. Just out of curiousity, after you have reacted to off the wall, thriller, bad and (most of) dangerous, which album and era of michael is your favourite? Also, after reacting to alot of michael and elvis, I'm just wondering in your opinion who is the bigger 'king' in your eyes. The king of rock VS the king of pop Which songs and albums and videos do you like more, or who do you think is the overall greatest entertainer/dancer/singer of all time? Elvis VS Michael
Once I've finished up all the albums im gonna be doing a video on my least favorite to most favourite one. And when it comes to Elvis vs Michael, i can only say that i personally listen to both of them every day in my own time. Whos the better singer? I dunno, they are both radically different sounding 😅 so its hard to actually say whos better. Elvis vs Johnny Cash would be easier because they sound kinda similar. Or michael vs justin timberlake. But having said that i personally wouldn't put either of them in the top 5 vocalists of all time, theres some amazing singers out there 👀
@@SephPlaysyou think JT voice is comparable to Michaels? Respectfully I disagree when you get a chance you should listen to Michaels Acapellas, or vocals deconstructed Timberlake though a good vocalist shares no comparison. Would you say Michael is in your top 10 male vocalists ? Because, as a child he was regarded as the best child vocalist male or female
@@Yahisking1 Justin Timberlake isn't comparable to MJ. Johnny isn't comparable to Elvis either. "Thats the point i was trying to make" And hmmmm on pure vocal ability they migghhttt be in the top 10. Theres soooooooooo many singers that are technically better but only half as famous 👀
@@SephPlays AH!! I got what you mean because I was like HUH? but yeah even when it comes to someone doing an "impersonation" of Michaels singing voice it never really sounds like him at all. Because his Voice was so unique and different with such a wide vocal range that no one can do it like him not even the Weeknd, or Bruno mars vocally. Personally I would say for child Mike, definitely the best of the best. Same with adult Michael when you hear earth song, and the more aggression in his voice in history upcoming next you'll see how wide his range is
Some have already spoken on this, but I'd just like to add on to the importance of this music film. Me knowingly, it is still the only all black/Arab cast portraying the high culture of Ancient Egypt. Atleast the only one of this magnitude and influence in western culture. All other ones have been done with white casts. It sais alot about Hollywood and western culture; only able to picture a powerful, influential and long-lasting culture like that, as whiteskinned...even though it was situated in northern Africa... It's still - by far - the most longlasting high culture known in history and ofcourse it had a tremendous importance for western culture and developement forwards through the Babylonian Empire, Ancient Greece and -Rome. The kiss is the first of the only two MJ ever did on film. Making it this kind of unnatural - sweeping but stiff - classical Hollywood-kiss, I presume is a nod to the type of movies done on the theme before (of which Elisabeth Taylor starred in the most famous one, Cleopatra) or rather to that whole movie era. Atleast that's my parents who grew up during this era - born in the 40s - association..! I find it very plausible. John Singleton as director, all black cast, hip hop moves in the choreography, Paula Abdul among the dancers (I've seen you have other named in other comments); MJ was using esthetics to make a clear point. Black people and POC have been and can be kings and queens. Magic Johnson risked becoming pariah after their HIV diagnosis. The HIV/AIDS panic and -hate was real and horrifying back then, top down. MJ saying right away that Johnson should be in this, was a clear message as well. You should watch the live performance from Bill Clinton's inauguration, including the song Gone Too Soon (also on Dangerous) - a very unfestive and bold pick by MJ for that occasion. The video is important too, you'll come to know Ryan White who was immortalized for the wider public, through that one. You'll know how MJ stood up by example for HIV/AIDS victims, also here Elisabeth Taylor was a very important frontfigure. The hich culture of Egypt was a cult around magicians, their priests were magicians and magic was a fundamental part of their empire's beliefsystem. MJ ofcourse would have known about this, being very well-read. I've always wondered if MJ thought abput how perfect it was to have the black basketball star Magic in this particular shortfilm, taking back the blackskinned vision of Ancient Egypt, themed around magic..! (It would surprise me if not, but I've never heard it mentioned.)
where is Black or White short film reaction? Where is Dangerous performance reaction? were they striked or u haven't watched yet? Bc i see u are already at Childhood ?
Have you found the black or white short film reaction i did yet? I haven't got to the performances for this era but i will be after ive finished up his life/interviews and album songs and music videos "I'm doing this mainly because ive become so invested in learning about MJ's life" ❤️

Well said 😎✌🏾🌠💛👑
this was a very interesting read :D thank you :D
Where in Moonwalk does it say this song was about Diana Ross? Moonwalk doesn't talk on any songs written for albums after Bad. However, MJ does make clear their love and thankfulness towards Ross, saying D.R. was a mother, friend and lover all wrapped up in one amazing person.
And Magic Johnson was in this as well, and nice to see you again Milkers, Mikling out Michael Jackson info

Omg Im just loving your MJ reactions ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ mj is just so addicting 😭😍
I live to see Seph's adorable reactions and the joy he expreesses watching and listening to Michael's masterpieces for the first time ❤
that intricately difficult Egyptian dance sequence was brilliantly choreographed by famed choreographer Fatima Robinson. she even appeared as a dancer in the scene twice. now, i know the majority of the choreography for Michael's short films, but i must say this is the hardest. to this day, i am still learning certain steps and moves. it is a testament to his ability (as a dancer) that he was able to master it.
I remember watching this the night it premiered in my living room and being a 12 year old girl who was in absolute awe of this man and his genius! His video’s when they premiered it was an event!
What a wonderful thing to have seen as a premier. He truly was a master of his craft
It's the joy that Michael brings us. Wonderful reaction.
You timed this very well haha
Today im making a video where im going to have a "Recap" of my MJ journey so far, I'll be ranking all the songs ive heard and I'll be answering all your questions too. Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll release the video "Depends on how long it all takes me" haha
@@SephPlays ohh can't wait for that!!!
I cant wait to watch it 😍
I've loved Michael's music video since the first time I saw it, it became my favorite and it remains that way to this day, in my opinion, it's an impeccable video as always, in addition to the incredible choreography, it's also my favorite and for me the best one, Seeing it, I can't fully describe what I think and feel about this short film and yes, for me it's Michael's best music video, I have no words to describe this video, it's simply perfect, Michael is perfect here and yes, this was Michael's first kiss in screen and I love Eddie Murphy too he was a great friend of our King. 🙌🏻👏🏻👑🤩❤️
She is a model. He always hired the best. I love the dancing in this one. And Eddie cracks me up. 😂
Lol u are adorable ! The guy yelling out was magic Johnson, the queen was Supermodel Iman ( David Bowles wife ) this was great ❤❤❤
*Bowie's
I'm ready for the dangerous tour reaction
Well, about the kiss, rumours say that he liked her so much, that couldn't stop kissing her. She stopped him by saying something like ''stop, i;m about to marry David''.

Hey Seph 😊😊😊😊 I was so happy when I saw the notification
Literally thought that dude was actually magic when I was a kid 😆😊
ooooo this is gonna be goooddd!!!!

15:48 ok but tthat little smile was so cute aww 😂❤❤️😍
ikr, Michael's smile is so adorable 😍😍
Best smile in the world for sure 😍
@@SephPlays omg thanks for the heart seph! :D, even google says he's got the most beautiful smile😍
Thanks, Steph,
We love you for experiencing M.J. and taking us a long for the enjoyment and pleasure of still enjoying the G.O.A. T. ( THE GREATEST VOF ALL TIMES)
Long live the 👑.
Hi Seph! Did you know that one of the dancers is Wylie Draper, who also appeared as MJ in the TV movie The Jacksons: An American dream?
This is the very best kiss of MJ on videoclipe.
I think the acapella bit is set up specially for the dance breakdown in this short film 🤗✨️🌠🙆🏽♂️💛👑
And the servant was Earving "Magic" Johnson.
Great review, I was really looking forward to your reaction to this one. This is my favourite MJ video ❤
i've heard that this shortfilm is the respond from MJ to hollywood after they rejected his idea to create a movie where Egyptians were all black, the way it should be historically
amazing I am. happy you did this video... because if you do not watch Michael's videos then you really don't enjoy them more,,, he did a lot of hard work in his music videos which is not going on nowadays in music videos... you pls must watch the GIVE IN TO ME music video also...
Hey Seph, sorry if i'm not commenting that much like before but in this period i have been really busy. I'm still watching all your videos and i'm loving them all, i've not abandoned you dont worry haha. And yesss, finally you reacted to this short film🔥 It's one of my most favourites Michael short films of all time! And i apoligize again with everybody for not letting him to react to it some weeks ago, plans changed many times haha.🔥
I'm now planning to comment under this video and all the other videos you have done in the past few weeks to write information for you, it will take me some time since they are a lot but i'll do it🔥 Thank you Seph🙏
THis was life changing for me this music video :D
Hey yessss🎉🎉🎉 this is why!❤❤😂😂aah am so glad you watched it reaction speaks for itself.
I enjoyed your reaction.
12:46 “It’s a bloody machine gun!” 😂
i was like where the f is a camel looool i have not once seen it hahahahahaha
and all of a sudden the different looks that seemed "weird" when not knowing him u start to dig, right? Like the long long wavy hair...etc etc hahahha i was waiting for that dance scene ...i skipped the album version straight away and i am glad i did...
The first airing of this video was pretty much Appointment TV when I was growing up. With celebrity guests and everything.
Love your reactions Seth :)
You are so much fun to watch Seph!!
Man I'll tell you imagine listening and watching this back in 1988. Amazing!!!
It was released in 1991 lol

That was a Great Reaction Seph; also the Model Iman (The Queen) ; was the wife of the Late Great David Bowie.🔥🔥🔥
4:46 one person that did that told me that they themselves as they bring the fire to their mouth they exhale so they’re blowing it out before it gets to their mouth. 15:49 that smile reminds me of Eddie Murphy’s smile in his movies.
Seph you look so confused, got so chuckled!!
YES!! IMHO.. The last EPIC Michael Jackson short film.
Definitely not the last epic shortfilm he did
@for-house-stark I said imho..
@@moscokidd3813 yeah, for obvious reasons.. He was blackballed by the industry
The best is yet to come 😊!
Mike made Pop Gospel. This was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
C'mon, he was a man. Why do people think he didn't have the same desires of any other men. He did.
The queen was international super model Imán and wife of David Bowie.
i just dont understand the comments ( and you ) saying "this is my favourite video/mini movie ' i love them all the same ! watching the master at work is always a good time !
Theres a couple of his videos that i'm not thattttttttt fussed on to be honest with you
Keep in mind that Eddie Murphys wife here is Iman, David bowies wife back in the day
Mike was NOT shy. lol. Plenty of stories about how normal mike was in private. He played the act on camera
React to "In the Closet" Acapella version. You can't miss it.
oh boy, he's in for a ride if he reacts to that xD
Look for the making of remember the time. Goid stuff!
If Eddie Murphy can't entertain you, Michael Jackson surely can 😂
Please do a reaction to Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson song dead Sea off of her debut album called wilted
You should watch Liberian girl video please
I mean this one I don't know if it's really neceasary cause Michael literally only shows up for 5 seconds at the very end (which he already saw in the Bad 25 documentary)
Your so cute with your reaction
You were funny in this video lol 😂
Video begins showing 3 Egyptian idols.... Ramses/murphy, the queen/iman & the sphinx/Jackson!!! Assuming mj/murphy/Iman emulate chooses Egyptian idols for the music video.... THE SPHINX NOSE IS REMOVED, JACKSON NOSE REMOVED 😮
A model named Iman
Just subsçribed
Big fan now
❤❤❤🎉
That was Iman.
That beautiful Egyptian queen is none other than Ethiopian supermodel Iman, widow of the late English singer David Bowie.
She's Somalian
@peachesj4748 correct that forehead is unmistakable
The king of rock VS the king of pop
Which songs and albums and videos do you like more, or who do you think is the overall greatest entertainer/dancer/singer of all time?
"Thats the point i was trying to make"
And hmmmm on pure vocal ability they migghhttt be in the top 10.
Same with adult Michael when you hear earth song, and the more aggression in his voice in history upcoming next you'll see how wide his range is
@@SephPlaysyou wouldn't put MJ in the top 5 greatest vocalists of all time? Wait until you hear Earth song in his next album HIStory lol
Michael asked last minute to kiss Eman ha ha he was fine with it
the first video (or short film) entirely with black actors...

Iman said he was a great kisser. :-D
I bet he was haha
